As cool as Drift's Decepticon to Autobot story is, I would love to see an Autobot who turns to the Decepticon side (Mudflap from Cybertron doesn't count, he switched because Starscream pretty much asked if he had anything better to do).

Wheeljack TF Armada Blackarachnia TF Animated Everyone else that I can think of either had there programming changed, Beast Wars characters like Inferno into Predacons. Or worked with Decepticons, but never joined, like Flame and Pharma. Surprisingly, more Autobots have become Heralds of Unicron, they are tortured and brainwashed but it is still interesting, an example is the Four Horseman from Armada.
As Sam Richards here already said, we've got examples in the form of Armada Wheeljack, who betrayed the Autobots because he believed Hot Shot abandoned him after an accident led the latter to believe Wheeljack was dead, and Animated Elita One, who was _also_ abandoned after an accident led to Optimus and Sentinel believing she was dead, though she has the distinction of also being subsequently mutated into a Techno-Organic, whereupon she reinvented herself as Blackarachnia. There's also the case of Energon Inferno, though he falls under the "tortured and reprogrammed" category.
WFC Starscream used to be an Autobot scientist before he sold out to Megatron. They swapped his backstory with Jetfire's (who's WFC counterpart is an Autobot all along) and it worked pretty well imo.

I find the takara TAV vs version an iconic take on the white Drift merged with the RID Drift, and quite uplifting.
He always drift into me heart.
Wow, I never knew so much about this character. Thank you for showing us this newer entry into the franchise.
Drift is the Japanese name for dirt boss and also in Japan a minicon repaint of dirt boss was named drift
quickswitch the autobot if you’re talking about Cybertron Dirt Boss, his Japanese name was Inch-Up
@@TransDrummer1312 It was the Armada version of Dirt Boss, who was a mini-con.
Wasn’t Dirt Boss part of the minicon team that formed the Skyboom Shield?
@@tannerprice2018 yeah but in Japan a repaint of him was named drift
I’d like to see Chris McFreely continue his Art of Transformers videos, they felt like the most informative of his videos to me.
It's baby!
I love drift! He went to dead lock a thief/ mercenary ( depend on with any of his back story is )to drift teacher, samurai, and friend
Mtmte/LL Drift is my favorite ^-^
Great video! He's been a favorite of mine since he was introduced during All Hail Megatron.
I remember having the first drift action figure. Sadly his sword is all that remains 😔
I just want to thank you for doing all this videos. I love the franchise, but is really hard to get your hands on most of the content nowadays if you are short on money. I really want to watch all the old cartoons and read the IDW comics, because I love the lore and the characters and if it wasn't for your videos I would be completely lost! So thanks for doing all this!
How far he came just like windblade
K
Thank you for doing one on my favorite Transformer! 🙌🙌🙌
Drift and Ratchet being gay together is actually really adorable tbh
There’s something I always find interesting about Drift.
Did Drift and Ratchet seriously become a couple??? If so then hell yeah
Yeas they did 0u0
WHEELJACK CAN HAVE RATCHET
I have to say this was a very informative video as I never knew that Drift was originally from the IDW Transformers comics.
Turned from decepticons and joins the autobots. DRIFT IDEA
Cyberverse Drift: They left a bunch of really obvious clues that he was going to turn out to be evil. So obvious that you think it has to be a red herring. And then, in a shocking twist, he... was evil.
