Thank you so much for your recap of this chapter. This chapter is so sad to me, but I learned so much while studying. Here are just a few things that struck me. First, animals could talk! The serpent, who clearly looked very different before he tempted the woman, talked. Next, she added to what God had told them. She told the serpent that God had said not to even touch the tree. God never said that. Also, neither man nor woman discussed their decision with God. They walked with God all the time and talked with Him, yet they left Him out of the decision. I think that vs. 15 is a prophecy that there will be a very long struggle between good and evil. I also thought that the mention of only the woman’s seed in vs. 16 might be a reference to the virgin birth of Jesus Christ. God passed judgement on man immediately. Man’s disobedience meant separation from God, which is death! God had to shed the blood of animals to get the skins to cover man. This is clearly the first appearance of sacrifice and it had to be provided by God. Then, God removed the tree of life as a way to eternal life. We all know that the only way to eternal life is through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Death didn’t exist before sin and God cannot be where sin is. When God looks at me the only thing he sees is the blood of Jesus Christ, which covers me. That is the only way I can come to God. Thanks again for sharing your study. I’m being blessed daily along with all your other viewers.
Wow this is amazing! Thank you for sharing. I really love the point about Adam and Eve not consulting God first with a decision which ultimately ended in death. Thank you so much for watching and sharing, I truly appreciate it 😊
I absolutely loved your interpretation!!! you definitely pointed out some amazing factors that after my 3rd tine rereading chapter 3 i would've missed! God definitely instructed Adam and Eve to NOT eat from the Tree of Knowledge (Good and Evil). But he absolutely did not say not to touch it. Just from you mentioning this fact i went back over chapter 3 again and i noticed something else, Eve repeated Exactly what God told her not to do while adding on to that truth by saying God Instructed her to not touch the fruit. so it shows there that Eve understood the instructions that was given to her. It’s amazing what you pick up on when you take your time with each chapter. You will notice things more when you take your time. Thank you for this interpretation
Thank you very much for sharing, this really clearly gave me wisdom, understanding and some answers to my prayers, halleluya!🙌🏿 i asked the holy spirit to lead me regarding my daughter's relationship and the doubts i have, and i was led to this bible scripture. A big thank you for this study. So many verses I have read many times but I didnt really understand it. I am not saved, but I am told God had called me since I have been drawn to the Bible and learning it and I am so aware of how I am imperfect and want to make changes in my life to do better for me and my family.
Thank you for this video. I am studying Genesis right now and just trying to grasp this chapter. I am really seeking to understand because it feels so far from the God of my understanding today but it is the same God. Wild. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. It really helps me stay motivated.
Hi thank you, I've been trying to read and study a chapter of the Bible a day. Watching your videos help me to have such a deeper and more meaningful relationship to the word of God.
Adam and Eve's sin absolutely has an effect on this world today. It's sad how even though they had everything, they still managed to sin due to discontentment. I've learned to look at the beautiful blessings life has to offer me rather than the minute things that I feel like I am missing out on. Thank you so much for your comment I love hearing what others have gotten out of the word as well. Have a blessed day❤️
Thank you for bringing more to these stories I have heard over and over as a kid. You help me learn things I didn't understand and put more depth to them.
An eye opening study indeed. In your Bible Study for chapter 2 you quoted a beautiful and poetic passage from the MHC re: the equality of man and woman "That the woman was made of a rib out of the side of Adam not made out of his head to rule over him, nor out of his feet to be trampled upon by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be beloved." In the study for Chapter 3 we see one of the womans punishments for sin is submitting to the husband/man. So I wondered if this now makes us subordinate? I went to the MHC to find an answer and here's what it says: "She is here put into a state of subjection. The whole sex, which by creation was equal with man, is, for sin, made inferior, and forbidden to usurp authority, 1 Timothy 2:11, 1 Timothy 2:12. The wife particularly is hereby put under the dominion of her husband, and is not sui juris - at her own disposal, of which see an instance in that law, Numbers 30:6-8, where the husband is empowered, if he please, to disannul the vows made by the wife. This sentence amounts only to that command, Wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; but the entrance of sin has made that duty a punishment, which otherwise it would not have been. If man had not sinned, he would always have ruled with wisdom and love; and, if the woman had not sinned, she would always have obeyed with humility and meekness; and then the dominion would have been no grievance: but our own sin and folly make our yoke heavy. If Eve had not eaten forbidden fruit herself, and tempted her husband to eat it, she would never have complained of her subjection; therefore it ought never to be complained of, though harsh; but sin must be complained of, that made it so. Those wives who not only despise and disobey their husbands, but domineer over them, do not consider that they not only violate a divine law, but thwart a divine sentence." This has blown my mind a little bit. Thank you once again for your willingness to study with us.
The serpent for sure was clever because it says he talked to the woman, not the man. God commanded the man not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil before woman was even created yet! So, to me it seems as though the woman didn't have a FULL understanding of what that tree represented or even what God actually said because she addressed the tree as just " the tree in the middle" not it's actual SIGNIFICANCE, which the man was fully aware of. Leading the serpent to be like oh yeah that's the tree of good and knowledge.. I believe she was not fully aware and the serpent KNEW she wasn't that's why he spoke with her and not the man himself. This just means to me how important it is to know what GOD SAID WORD FOR WORD and have full understanding. We have to be aware and KNOW HIS word not what we think but what we KNOW he said because the enemy knows too but he twists what he knows to be untruthful and feed us lies. whewwww and I got all that just from reading the first 4 verses
I have to be honest... i’ve read this chapter more than one time and at some verses i am still confused. But everytime i ask the Holy Spirit to help me understand and to read with godly eyes. Thank you for this study ❤️
I think Eve was not alone. In Verse 6 it says "She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. (NKJV)" To me, it looks like they were both there but Satan tempted Eve first and Adam is at fault for not protecting Eve. What are your thoughts? Anyone?
Got to love Man's disobedience that got us kicked out of the garden of Eden. I know that in Genesis chapter 3 it says, "Eat the fruit of the tree and live forever and your eyes shall be opened as if god's, knowing good and evil. A tree that is pleasant to the eyes and a tree to be desired to make one wise." The woman took of the fruit and eat of it and gave it to her husband Adam and he ate of it. That is when humanity became cursed above all cattle, cursed above all livestock and cursed upon the ground on which we stand. Humanity became cursed because we touched the forbidden fruit in the garden of Eden.

adam and eve had already experienced spiritual death when they ate the fruit, now had they ate the fruit of the tree of life, they would’ve lived forever in that death, separated from the goodness that was before, and most of all separated from their Creator. God didn’t allow that to happen so that He could save us from the spiritual death from the fall, and we see this fully in Jesus, and how He has rescued us from the power of death and sin.

I’ve made it my goal this year to read and study the whole Bible a chapter a day and I’m very grateful for your videos
I watched the entire clip of Genesis 3 since I read it and I wanted to go over it.
I love what you said in the end of the video about it is sad what happened. You are so right in a sense that Adam and Eve's sin had an effect on us,
which we are imperfect and we are affected by death (Romans 5:12). Adam and Eve had such a beautiful life where they could live forever. Instead,
they died because they were interested in eating the fruit and listen to Satan, who distorted the word.
What I got out of this scripture was we need to fight temptation each day by reading the Bible and applying because we could find our serpent or Satan
in any situation.

An eye opening study indeed.
In your Bible Study for chapter 2 you quoted a beautiful and poetic passage from the MHC re: the equality of man and woman "That the woman was made of a rib out of the side of Adam not made out of his head to rule over him, nor out of his feet to be trampled upon by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be beloved."
In the study for Chapter 3 we see one of the womans punishments for sin is submitting to the husband/man.
So I wondered if this now makes us subordinate? I went to the MHC to find an answer and here's what it says:
"She is here put into a state of subjection. Those wives who not only despise and disobey their husbands, but domineer over them, do not consider that they not only violate a divine law, but thwart a divine sentence."
This has blown my mind a little bit.

Thanks for your time in studying the word but I like to point out that Eve add to the word because God didn't tell them not to touch the fruit
