In my opinion Hearts private audition was a great album! My father passed away on July 25th 1982 and the album private audition helped me through it! Thank you girls! For such a great album! Well now it's April 25th 2024 and I am still listening 🎧 God bless you girls! For sharing your god-given talents with us and may God keep on blessing you! So that you can bless us through your music!❤❤❤

I've seen heart over 20 times in my lifetime and saw about everything they have on video, Nancy always had to give a nod to Ann to make sure everything was good , because she (Ann) had uncertainty issues from time to time was very much a perfectionist however this performance is hands-down probably the most comfortable in the most at ease I've ever saw Ann and Nancy.... I mean working so well together.
Besides 💕 sizzling Wilson sisters, that pink metallic 1981 Washburn A20 electric guitar of Howard Leese's is sweet...even has heart inlays on the fret board! Sort of an odd looking guitar, but on the player it looks great. Nancy's song 30:29 - *The Situation* is a very cool anthem!
Honestly, they were on fire at this gig. I don't think the new line up had been together very long but they had obviously put the hours in. Anne Wilson is amazing as always but she really pulls out the stops on this gig and she has a real twinkle in her eyes. What a legacy they have .
I was there!!! I remember!!! It was during my years as a Med student in the DR. That evening It started to rain dogs and cats, Santana was able to sing only a couple of songs... Heart was GREAT!!!!!.
I was there too. One of the nicest concert venues anywhere in the world. For some reason the song “the situation” has stuck with me all these years. Great concert. Saw Sergio Mendez and Julio Iglesias there as well. Just a magical place. Altos de Chavon was an otherworldly place at that time. Have fond memories there and in Casa de Campo.
I've seen Santana, in Hollywood, Fla., but never seen Heart, live. It's too bad that part of the show got cut short due to weather, cuz Santana is phenomenal!!! But Jane, I'll raise you a Led Zeppelin concert (6-77, Tampa Stadium), that was cut short due to a late afternoon thunderstorm. Then a riot ensued, after they left the stage. Yeah, I was there. :(
I would be very hard to explain to people just how epic this night was. Heart opened for Santana, whose presentation had to be cut extremely short (Just 3 complete songs) due to the most severe rain storm ever. No matter how hard the techs tried to salvage the night, every time Santana's presentation resumed, it had to be stopped again due to the rains. Last song (No other than Black Magic Woman) they played UNDER torrential rain. You can look up that video here in TH-cam, water just splashing off the musical instruments and no one left from the crowd side and no one stopped playing from the musicians side. I was only 12 at the time and at almost 54 years old, I'm still to experience anything even close to that. E P I C in all senses!!!
I can only imagine- I say that because the “bleed” over audio from the audience into the mix is so loud in this , it’s like hearing the band trying to compete with who’s louder. That must’ve been some serious energy happening! - especially during Baracuda . That’s what I love about concerts : everything is in the moment and the energy exchange is such an organic , second by second situation.
I think Ann was stoned as hell that night, but damn she was on fire ! Pure rawk-n-roll and it don't get any better than this. As of January 2019, there still hasn't been a female rock singer that can match her stunning vocals. No one has even come close. I'm only a medium fan of Heart's entire body of work, but I am a MASSIVE fan of Ann's vocals. Dreamboat Annie is still my favorite album from them.
Only a highly Respected Band is asked to share a Venue with Santana.....Heart was certainly all that and more.....That evening the World came to know who the Wilson Sisters were, and they left no doubt.....
It took me a bit of musical research, but the instrumental section inserted into "Magic Man" at around 19:00 is from "Over Under Sideways Down" by the Yardbirds.
This is so cool to see, being that I saw them in concert less than 2 months later on that same tour. All very much how I remembered them looking and sounding at that point in their career, (when they'd just welcomed 2 new members into the band, who seemed to fit right into the dynamic of the group). The concert I saw, (in Rochester, NY), had a more extended playlist, (understandable, since the show in this video also featured Santana). The show I saw had all these songs, plus Mistral Wind, Cities Burning, and several others. (And also, John Cougar as opening act, not quite the big name yet that he'd go on to become). This does seem to be a point in their career where they are the top of their game, performance-wise. Which is pretty impressive because, again, the bass player & drummer are brand-new to the group. ❤️
All songs are amazing & the band is incredible but"Tell it Like it Is" really shows off just HOW fucking awesome this woman's pipes were. Incredible range and serious power. As a singer I am always totally blown away and humbled by her. No one can touch this woman. Where is today's Ann Wilson??
Aguilera has pipes. Just not the right taste in music (Rock!). ;-) I like a lot of the stuff Joan Osborne did on her RELISH album. Gotta keep in mind that Ann tuned her pipes singing Led Zeppelin songs...it takes a lot of range to follow in Robert Plants vocal footprints.
It was The Concert of Las Americas, commemorating the opening of the greek stile amphitheater at Los Altos de Chavon, La Romana, Dominican Republic, Heart was the opening band, and Ann Wilson was able to show that she was one of the most powerful voices in rock & roll, I was lucky to be there 30 years a go, and the energy was so powerful that it needed to rain to cool it down, reason why when Santana started to play, he was not able to finish, he still owes the full version of Black Magic Woman, that he was not able to complete that night, but still, I have very good memories of that concert.
Many of us wonder why we were born. Ann Wilson is probably not one of them. Amazing! I have to admit I never fell in love with the "Private Audition" album (except for the smashing opening cut, "City's Burning"). But those songs really come alive here, especially "The Situation" which is simply great.
at a moment, the early '80s, when the music world had outstanding singers like BENATAR, RONSTADT, NICKS, EASTON, NEWTON-JOHN NO ONE COULD TOUCH HER!! she was amazing and continued to be so for many years after 1982
Ann and Nancy Wilson better known as❤. Heart and is a great lead vocalist for the great classic rock band and has a beautiful voice and she's a very beautiful woman yeah you do it Ann🎶🎸🎵🎶🎸🎶🎸🎶🎵🎸🎶🎵🎵🎸🎶🎵🎶🎸🎵
I caught Heart in San Diego in 1985 during their Bebe Le Strange Tour. I had forgotten what an athletic singer Ann Wilson was. The way she would effortlessly shred notes that most singers couldn't even think about approaching was truly amazing. It's like watching Jordan or Gretzky in their primes. What a gift.
‼️‼️‼️ Here's the thing. Ann and Nancy are equally talented. Also , both have equally evident physical beauty , with neither sister even remotely trying. Natural beauty , both inside and out , brings people outward sometimes. People should try to be humble and kind. No , it doesn't make a person soft - only a very decent American citizen , wirh regard for friends and neighbors. A quiet Patriot , who simply has this nation's best interests in mind. 🇺🇲❤️🗽👍💯♥️
OMG! I saw this as a REALLY little kid. When the self-titled album was such a huge success, channels started re-running this concert, which prompted me to quickly buy their entire back-catalog.
Denny is a God on the drum kit, combine that with Ms. Wilson's stunning voice, and it makes my big toe shoot straight up in my boot!!! What a fucking drummer!!!!
I remember This Concert, the Santana Set was just starting to Cook when the Skys opened up. Thunder and Lightning forced them to Stop after like 4 songs. Great Show
Heart was the opening act for Santana that night in 1982 in Dominica.....i think those people got their moneys worth that evening.....oh yeah no doubt about that.....
I had the chance of this concert. It was great. Santana was awesome till they were rained out. Carlos and the band played while it was raining till the thunder and lightning.
This was on a cable station 30 some years ago,Anns voice was in tip top shape, especially on Tell it like it is,too bad Roger wasn't with them anymore,Howard can't come near his stage presence,Anns voice takes over the entire show!
Howard Leese was absolutely blistering here. Fantastic player. Roger was great, but no one there was wondering where he was that night. Howard and Nancy were killing it.
I've always loved the Nancy Wilson song Raised on You. I've never seen this concert before. Awesome video!!! Thank you!!! Could you change it to Dominican Republic, please? This was in Altos de Chavón, La Romana, Dominican Republic. Not Dominica.
Tina Tunrer is my all-time favorite woman rock artist, but Ann Wilson is -- hands-down -- the overall best woman rock singer.

Wow! Nancy singing and jammin’ out on the piano! Great concert! Queens of rock forever!
No matter what... Ann Wilson is in a league of her own...
Yes Teana Tuner rocked specially with her song proud marry her latetest concert with those woman dancers
What an excellent snapshot of that era right before their mid 80’s massive success. Heart always rips.
Ann Wilson belting out "Tell it like it is" is all I really need in life
This concert must have been amazing. I have never heard a voice like Ann Wilson's. What a gift to music
+B BD Force of nature ! And Nancy !!
Yes, it was.. I was there :-)
If looks could kill
I was there, Heart was perfect, sound, music...everything went right. Santana played 2 songs and started raining and never stopped.
By the way IS NOT 'DOMINICA' IS 'DOMINICAN REPUBLIC'.

Jane Jensen you're so lucky!
Haha! Santana doesn't sing...
Annie at the height of her incredible vocal powers!!
Ann Wilson literally has no equal. Earth shattering!
That vibrato is just insane!!
Totally agree, though I have to wonder what force on earth made them think "This Man is Mine" was a good idea.
Ann is the best female singer I have ever heard.
Her Majesty 👑Ann Wilson👑
@@chrisacer6605 lol I agree. This song has to be one of the very very few Heart songs I'm not a fan of
The Heart band verry laikii mucho, both of 70'd & 80's. Top of The most. My truly life saviour. ❤😊
No need to talk about Anns voice, but she has beautiful eyes here... 👍
37 years later and Ann still singing so good.
Tell it like it Is is probably my favorite of this entire concert. What a set of lungs. Love it.
This should have 77 million views, not 77000

I love your comment dude you're definitely telling the truth
I’m 33 and totally get it and you could tell me 10 times :)
These two are just magical together. Nancy writes some beautiful songs.
Nancy Wilson has the coolest moves of any guitar player.
She really does god damn it she is the coolest
It looks natural when she did it
Yeah she can point at me all day man
I think Ann was stoned as hell that night, but damn she was on fire !

Ann’s prime! Untouchable….
This is "Heart", simple, perfect!!! ❤❤🙏
Otra impecable demostración de "como se hace" de la inmensa Ann..qué buena perfomance de la banda!!!
Ann e Nancy Wilson, absolutamente únicas e eternas no Rock and Roll !!! I love forever!!!
Prime Ann Wilson has no equal.

What a great show!
It took me a bit of musical research, but the instrumental section inserted into "Magic Man" at around 19:00 is from "Over Under Sideways Down" by the Yardbirds.
Your correct 😊 it sure is a bizarre musical insert into a severely shortened Magic 🎩 Man

PSYCHED to find a concert from the PRIVATE AUDITION tour! I remember seeing this on TV when i was too young to even realize who they were yet.
WOW! They were on fire here along with the audience.I broke out with a sweat just watching this.
Damn. I LOVE Carmassi's playing in this.
Mark Andes was solid too. So underrated...

Ann oozing greatness and natural sex appeal.

One of the best bands ever. Positive energy from the band and the crowd. Howard really did a great job playing some of Roger's parts after he left.
