    It might be worth mentioning the 'Bloodhound' super car uses hydrogen peroxide as an oxidizer in a hybrid motor configuration. A high performance v8 engine drives a pump to inject the H2O2 across a catalyst bed and into the combustion chamber.

    Potassium nitrate = saltpeter
    If yo ass have any chicken coop sands or an indoor sand for fire places then you just gotta take it and put the dirt in a pot or anything with a strainer in the bottom then you pour water on top of it then let it take it's time you will see under the strainer where you have a cup or plate to gather all the pouring water a color looks little bit yellowish then you take that water and you boil it on a stove till the water vaporizes then you are left with a mud like substance that my dear boy is saltpeter AKA beloved potassium nitrate so you go take that and go crazy with it another easier way if you can get your hands on ammonium nitrate and hydrogen peroxide mix those too together and you have a lovely potassium nitrate . If it helps finger this comment up

      You can also make sodium chlorate from cooking salt with electrolysis, or potasium chlorate from potassium chloride (a salt alternative)

  • @jonpedrera3530
    @jonpedrera3530 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    NaClO3/4? It can get produced by using electrolysis on a mixture of table salt and water. It’s a very good oxydixer.

      True but you need a something like a platinum covered titanium electrode. Maby you have one just laying arround but for most hobbyists that is a very expensive part to procure. Unless you dont mind graphite or steele electrodes adding impurities to your rocket grain. I think most would care as this IS rocket science!

    • @jonpedrera3530
      @jonpedrera3530 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gooberclese Yeah, but you can find a platinized titanium electrode by 15$, that's the same price as a kilo of KClO3, and with the electrodes you can make all the oxydicer that you can need. But yes, buying KClO3 can be more easy to finally obtain (also, its more difficult to buy it on other places that are not the US, so...), (idk, my best friend likes rockets and ingeniering, i like chemistry and I help him)

      doesn't that make chlorine

    • @samancor3271
      @samancor3271 ปีที่แล้ว

      the only trouble with that is the chlorine will react with carbon to make carbon tetra-chloride there fore wasting chlorine and leading to higher concentrations of sodium hydroxide in the final process. Please somebody if I'm out to lunch on this correct me.

      @@jonpedrera3530 chlorate rockets have a nasty tendency to detonate. Sodium perchlorate is really hygtoscopic, best to use ammonium perchlorate.

    You can buy 40% hydrogen peroxide as “hair color developer” and if you know someone with a beautician license you can get 50% at any sally beauty supply. I’ve been using it for a process called “retrobrite” to make old electronics look new again. The funny part of this is that the other half of the equation is ethanol that I buy from any alcohol store as “ever clear” I even joked with the cashier that I wasn’t going to drink it, but use it as rocket fuel. He jokingly said “don’t burn down your house”. I never got the liquid mixture just right(I’m thinking it needs to be pressurized in conjunction with force fed into the aerosolized plate(if you know you know) but even so, the ratios can be vastly different and still produce thrust. I got the fire department called on me because my neighbors thought I built a bomb. Fire department loved it and gave me props for having fire safety at the ready. I’m literally a rocket scientist. Do I have accreditation? No, have I built a liquid propellant rocket? Yes!(I abandoned it because I can’t afford to get metal parts 3D printed). Anyone can do this provided you’re over 21 and have $400. Do with this information what you will, be safe, and don’t hurt yourself or anyone else! Cheers!

    Well, if by household you mean stuff in my house, my best bet would be on ammonium perchlorate, Hydroxyl-Terminated PolyButadiene resin, MDI Isocyanate, Isodecyl Pelargonate, Catocene, and 6 micron aluminum powder. Of course I build rockets as a hobby so my idea of household chemicals may differ from others lol.

    What about nitrous oxide? Just decompose it from ammonium nitrate which is also a fertilizer iirc

  • @spaceage01

    35% Hydrogen Peroxide is highly reactive and I have had reactions that were delayed before rapidly becoming violent. Most hydrogen peroxide reactions generate extreme amounts of heat probably because oxygen is an accelerant. Oxyclean can be used to make high concentrations of hydrogen peroxide but beware its potential for reactivity makes it among the most dangerous household chemicals

    PTFE (black sprinkler line) and nitrous oxide, makes e rather stout burn and can be used in conjunction with a sugar rocket fuel as a primary stage. It needs to be contained within a cylinder and you might switch to porcelain clay for the nozzle.

    And silicone caulk makes a pretty good "solid fuel base" that is easy to pour and mold. I have often wanted to try a mixture of potassium nitrate and lard as a possible fuel but just never tried it. I wish someone would.

    • @billybot3000

      It doesn't really work that way. Boiling the h2o2 solution causes the peroxide to decompose into water and oxygen, so it isn't effective.

      You can't actually distill hydrogen peroxide that much for some reason. Here is a chemistry video that explains it a lot better than I could (Its long though): th-cam.com/video/LhEYaovWxl4/w-d-xo.html

      Hydrogen peroxide has to be compressed or else it releases an oxygen molecule becoming water. That’s why it weakens after you open the container
