loving the phenom-style editing. this is the first time i've seen a footcam for double bass too. awesome setup someguy, you should use this for all your expert+ FCs
If you already play drums and are used to the double bass, it's not a difficult transition. If you're new at drums and haven't played double bass before, it definitely takes time getting used to.
Got pretty crazy towards the end there lol. Cool to see you step up your vid qaulity and whatnot lately. Cool of Scotty to help out with that one too. And good job man, was awesome to watch, especially with the nice veiw^^
Heel Toe is a bass pedal technique, which involves hitting the pedal with the full foot (the "heel" part,) and then hitting it again quickly with the toes (the, uh, "Toe," part,) although the name refers more to where the force of each hit is coming from, not which part of the foot has to hit the pedal. In this video, SG913 uses it to hit the fast 32nd note bass quads at the beginning.
Oh don't worry, since I'm finally back in town and Scotty has this awesome camera setup and is graciously allowing me to use it, I'm planning on doing a lot more FCs with this setup, including some of my older RB FCs (WGFA, Panic Attack, Smooth Criminal, Space Truckin', etc.)
Actually, if you listen to the songs on ~99% of all the tracks, you'd see that all of the bass drum hits are charted correctly. No extras or nothing. Rock Band takes out approximately half of the bass drum hits, as you can clearly see in Painkiller and much of the Megadeth DLC as well as all of the Mayhem Fest track pack. Keep up the awesome, Someguy! Long time watcher, new subscriber. >.>
he connects it through an midi output to his guitar hero drumkit, its basically sending all the signals to the guitar hero drumkit, and that drumkit just plays them on the videogame.
No they recently changed it after Guitar Hero World Tour allowed for the inclusion of a second pedal. Plus Expert+ charts were made to be played with a double pedal
The hands are easy, the feet are easy, but the final product is tricky to coordinate, especially since this song is in 12/8 timing (meaning triplet kicks). To be able to play this is nothing special, but to play it flawlessly as in the video is an acheivement worth recognizing. One more thing, a few people mentioned the hand/foot rools at 3:18 and 3:24. They took me a while to get the coordination down, but once the technique is down its dead simple. Its cool to do 32nd note fills with them.
you know, I thought you were fake at first, when you did the RB2 stuff without azurite style... but now that I've seen you in action, I must say YOU ARE GOD.
What's the name of the kick trigger? I want to get one that has a larger are than the Roland KD-8, because that one isn't that great for double bass...
roland td-6 SX-T's i belive. its an electronic drum set. he modded them to play rockband and guitar hero, plus its perfectly legal according to scorehere for scores and leaderboard posts and such.
@ james6394 I'm learning it this week. I've never played it before and its harder than I thought it would be, because it looks so easy, I mean, watch this guy. But still, I am much better now in a few days. I can go really fast with the heeltoe technique but without that technique I can't go really fast. Still, it depends on what you think is ''learning the doublebass''. When are you done learning? How fast must you go? There is not really a line. But you can get better in a few days, Like me.
His left foot pedal doesn't have a beater like the right does. He most likely rolls it up in order to keep his pants from getting his by the beater, it would be extremely annoying and potentially ruin a streak if it were to get caught.
Yeah, but they only have the right foot just like in Rock Band don't they? Unless you have two seperate pedals and one is hooked up to a "dead" practice pad, it is hard for me to keep the beat
Awesome kit upgrades are awesome. I could really use a PD-125 and KD-120. Nice FC though man. I wound't have the mentality to get something like that because of those crazy fills at the end.
I'd agree, for certain songs. Actually, when I first played Laid to Rest on RB, I did have my left foot miming the left foot beat on the floor to help me stay on time during the fills. XD
i can do this with the single pedal that comes with the game......well i use two feet, but still......the part i have trouble with is toward the end...its like 90 percent through the song then i have alot of trouble...its the part at 3:19
@topdawg567 you mean world tour? dang if you're having problems with one pedal you really need to drop down a few difficulties, I play expert and one pedal is just fine. If you meant any of the newer ones with expert+ then yeah, you need two pedals
True, you can, but sometimes the game will think that the notes it "hit for you" when you activated like that were actually missed, and give you a 99% on the results screen. To avoid the incessant complaining that brings from people who don't read descriptions, I try to avoid activating on anything other than orange or yellow notes.
I love the camera view, gives me a good visual of your awesome kit. Great video man, you're amazing.

I like how Scotty does videos for two people who have very minimal reactions to their FCs. Awesome job!
Needs more cowbell
Gotta have more cowbell baby
your orange cymbal sounds like a cowbell
thank you someone who understands that . the only part that is truly difficult is that little breakdown thats kinda tricky ive tried
@austinflamez14 Angra could be included in the list? For me would be AMAZING! :DD
3:18 That sounded awesome. I can't figure out how to do those double kicks and then double drum hits.
Please do more expert+. It's so kickass! (doesn't even have to be an fc, this splitscreen video is awesome)
It's perfectly functional as a regular electronic drum kit; I've used it at several gigs.
i love the camera angleing and how you did. nice job!
What a beautiful FC ! What a beautiful drumset !
Dude, holy shit, this video is the perfect example of how to play this song. Now I figured out all the tricky parts, thanks man!
For some reason, I can't hear the guitar for this song. Even when I turn the guitar all the way up, I still can't hear it. Any ideas?
HAYTHUR DUDE IT SAYS IN THE DESCRIPTION DUDE, SWEET! Roland TD-6 SX-TRoland TD-6 SX-TRoland TD-6 SX-TRoland TD-6 SX-TRoland TD-6 SX-TRoland TD-6 SX-T
@malcolmcox You are absolutely correct. It is impossible to play this song on this difficulity (Expert Plus) using only one foot pedal.
the bass pedal does have 2 beaters, on is fro his left foot and other for right foot.
It's an electronic drum set plugged into Guitar Hero World Tour drums using the MIDI port.
@23ryan93 It's an actual electric drumkit, it's about $3000, read the description.
the part a 2:21 i cant play but i can play the rest of the song, any tips?
@Darknessfalls32 That's cuz he's hitting the middle of it, where it slants up to that tightening nut.
Actually, if you listen to the songs on ~99% of all the tracks, you'd see that all of the bass drum hits are charted correctly. No extras or nothing. someguy always comes up with the best freeform fills
@topdawg567 Heel to toe method or put both feet on one pedal is a good thing to try. I got pretty far in Raining Blood Expert+ with one pedal
he does have two "beaters". the second one is run along to the bass drum. you can see both of them moving
i didn't even know they had this version of guitar hero
but dude, seriously, it's awesome :)
xx
And all Rock Band games, since the GHWT kit can be used on both RB and GH games...
he connects it through an midi output to his guitar hero drumkit, its basically sending all the signals to the guitar hero drumkit, and that drumkit just plays them on the videogame.
nice kit. it almost looks like an electric drum kit. adding in the multiplier, score and meter is a nice touch compared to his other vids from before
its a fourlet. so basically a grouping of four in a triplet based feel. if that makes sense?
No they recently changed it after Guitar Hero World Tour allowed for the inclusion of a second pedal. Plus Expert+ charts were made to be played with a double pedal
anybody thats now what would be the best video format to have if u wanna upload vids on youtube? mpeg? wmv? avi? someone pls respond asap
He was over at his house today actually, they were doing stream together, they fc'd laid to rest 2x in a row.
that set up is insane! and nice double pedals
welcome back! great stuff
I think they are cobras. But they might be DW 5002's. Not really sure.
@winemac238
He's got a drumkit and thats a electronic drumkit that you can use to record real songs, not exclusively for Guitar Hero.
Just so u know, i'm now hearing the song in the background. Before, I was too busy listening to the drums. That's when u know he's really good!
Very nice dude grats on the FC! Keep drumming man cause you're amazing!
The hands are easy, the feet are easy, but the final product is tricky to coordinate, especially since this song is in 12/8 timing (meaning triplet kicks). To be able to play this is nothing special, but to play it flawlessly as in the video is an acheivement worth recognizing.

jesus christ! dude, you are too good at this game!
Friggin amazing!
the fills around 3 mins are awesome
i wonder if i can do the easiest song on expert+... and is this on all instruments or only drums??
3:34 why is the note like rounded by something? anyone ? please?
Badass FC. I especially like sound of the fill at 3:18.
I dont think hes ever been bad at this game or rockband. nice job on laid to rest
you know, I thought you were fake at first, when you did the RB2 stuff without azurite style... but now that I've seen you in action, I must say
YOU ARE GOD.
@shagglez do you guys read the descriptions?
What's the name of the kick trigger? I want to get one that has a larger are than the Roland KD-8, because that one isn't that great for double bass...
roland td-6 SX-T's i belive. its an electronic drum set. he modded them to play rockband and guitar hero, plus its perfectly legal according to scorehere for scores and leaderboard posts and such.
i love this view way more thank the other+the kick pedal view. keep making good videos!
love the new angle, beast!
@ james6394 I'm learning it this week. I've never played it before and its harder than I thought it would be, because it looks so easy, I mean, watch this guy. There were some crazy parts in there, awesome FC!
His left foot pedal doesn't have a beater like the right does. He most likely rolls it up in order to keep his pants from getting his by the beater, it would be extremely annoying and potentially ruin a streak if it were to get caught.
OMFG, love ur drum kit, coolest ever made maan !
hey where i can find those kind of drums.. i like them.
i like the new camera placment u can see that beautiful drum kit
sick. i could never do the hard solo bits, for that you earn my respect
Yeah, but they only have the right foot just like in Rock Band don't they?
Unless you have two seperate pedals and one is hooked up to a "dead" practice pad, it is hard for me to keep the beat
its probs gonna take me longer because im focusing more on the drumming techniques and using the hi hat pedal than using the double bass
I don't know, I never tried it.
Someguy913 uses a Midi Drum kit, so you can use double kicks like anything.
Onde tem essa bateria pra compra ???
you have the sickest setup EVER!
Where's the mosh pit at?
Extremely awesome dude!! Great skills!! Really nice song!! Congrats!
where can you get a drum set like that for gh
as it does to release star power in the drums?
he never cheases to amaze me.........
what a gunish drummer
great quality and camera angle on this
I forgot to mention it in the description, but I was using Danny's/Scotty's pedal and kick trigger for this one, so it was an Iron Cobra pedal.
My pads broke playing waking the demon on expert... I wonder why
Awesome kit upgrades are awesome. I could really use a PD-125 and KD-120.
Nice FC though man. I wound't have the mentality to get something like that because of those crazy fills at the end.
@DemonShadow9 Its a normal double bass pedal.
@cokemastah It was a reply to someone saying this song was easy with one pedal.
I'd agree, for certain songs. Actually, when I first played Laid to Rest on RB, I did have my left foot miming the left foot beat on the floor to help me stay on time during the fills. XD
Way awesome. They have this on RB but without all the bass notes. =( I wish they had them because I actually have two pedals to play with.
You can download for rb2 if you have that.
where does he meet phenom???
dude. your number 8 in the description made me laugh. lol. and great FC by the way.
@AlexeiDmitri it's actually 6/8. My bro has a guitar book and that's what it says. But same concept anyways
Why iz 1 pant leg flded but de oder 1 an't?
He was playing at Phenom's house, on Phenom's 360.
@winemac238 Did you read the description? He really does drum.
best quality video you've ever made :P
i can do this with the single pedal that comes with the game......well i use two feet, but still......the part i have trouble with is toward the end...its like 90 percent through the song then i have alot of trouble...its the part at 3:19
@topdawg567 you mean world tour? dang if you're having problems with one pedal you really need to drop down a few difficulties, I play expert and one pedal is just fine. If you meant any of the newer ones with expert+ then yeah, you need two pedals
Damn dude, that's sick. Nicely done!
On that difficulty (Expert Plus), you will definitely need 2 kick pedals. I don't recommend using only one.
How do u Activate Star Power?
Yeah? Since when did Adler use cowbells?
extremely awesome rhythm and timing
True, you can, but sometimes the game will think that the notes it "hit for you" when you activated like that were actually missed, and give you a 99% on the results screen. To avoid the incessant complaining that brings from people who don't read descriptions, I try to avoid activating on anything other than orange or yellow notes.
Is that Jack and Scotty in the background?
THAT WUZ AMAZING!!!! GOOD JOB :D
btw how many xbox 360 and guitar hero products u had (at 3:52)?? just curious
i like how you have converted a Roland into a Rock Band Kit. NICE!
