Hard to make content with these type of bikes. Everything fun is against the rules! I always record the rides, so if I collect enough footage, I will upload!
Nice bike! I had a 1997 ZX11R in 1997, but I sold it because of my first child. I bought a 2000 ZX12R, maybe 5 years ago! I had plans on getting this bike next... I'll never sell it!
I've got the ZZR1200. I absolutely love it. My most reliable vehicle I own and super stable at speed. One thing you need to watch out for is the spark plug gaskets can leak, but replacing them is really easy
@@AdventureJeff269 I think he means the rocker cover gaskets around the sparkplug suppressors they sometimes leak oil into the spark plug hole so need to take the rocker cover off to replace them not difficult to do but still a bit of work nonetheless my ZRX1200 and my one ZZR1100 had this issue once no bigi
I been looking for more content on the zx12 cant wait to see more of yours the zx11 i bought was from a zx12 owner and i fell in love with it looking forward to buying one !
I love my zx12r as well! It's tricky to make footage. Everything that makes it fun is looked down upon by some. Stay tuned! I have footage I will upload this week!
I also have an 04 zx12r. It is an experience that can not truly be described with words. Unfortunately I believe it has now broken me, as I don't know if any other motorcycle could fully satisfy me at this point. There are very few other motorcycles that have quite the amalgamation of character elements that the ZX12 brings to the party. The speed / power of course is what sets it apart from the pack, but it is able to carry this power in a sleak lovely package. Tho its heavy, its feels very stable at speed, and not too stubborn in the turns. Best of all, unlike its arch nemesis, the Busa, It doesn't look like a bulbous monstrocity moonlighting as a Sportbike??? For me, even if the power was lacking, the ergonomics which are akin to a slightly oversized sportbike, makes for a much better sized motorcycle. (i.e. legroom, seat position, etc.,) .............A masterpiece of Engineering & Aesthetics in my book!!
I do love the look and ergos. It's definitely a fast bike. The guy i sold it to is already taking great care of it, so I'm happy about the old girl staying around!
Where did you find it? I've been looking for a green 12R for a while. Amazing bikes, first bike I did 200 mph on, mine had a full Akrapovic system, filter and a tune, 202mph took a while and a long road but what a rush.
They are strong for sure. I bought mine in Ohio and then bought the B model in Illinois to combine all the best parts in a super 12r lol. It may be for sale soon. Keep an eye on the channel!
"You don't just top it out first day" - ehem... actually... 😂 I also had issues with how crap my brakes were and replaced the seals+pistons in the caliper, still crap. Changed to braided lines, still crap. Changed to a 2009 ZX10R master cylinder, problem solved :)
I see you have upgraded the front forks for the radial brakes, nice. I have a 2000 A1 I am collecting this summer at my brothers where it is stored until I ride it 4300km home. Installing new rear shock and some other stuff, will b epic. Get a new rear shock if you have not.
Make sure calipers aren't seized is step one om those bikes. Then it's just pads and rotors.. Upgrade to stainless lines for better feel, upgrade master for even better feel. Then you can go to a radial setup if you really need more feel.
Ok. I understand now. I think I explain it in a video with more detail if you want, but I'll give a quick break down here.. I bought a 2005 zx12r that had body damage and swapped a bunch of stuff to my A1. -2005 forks, with brake calipers. -I ordered new 220mm rotors for an A1 model even though the 2005 rotors are 200mm. -purchased machined shims to shim calipers off the fork mounts 10mm to match larger rotor radius. -purchased 10mm longer titanium caliper bolts to accomodate caliper shiming. -purchased CoreMoto SS brake lines that color match the bikes green. There's tons of other stuff on the bike from the 2005. On rear I did the swingarm and shock, caliper with upgraded rotor and SS lines as well. Stole the newer radiator style and fans, clutch mods, and a few more things.
nice what did u pay for your zx12 im looking for one to now had 2001zx12 22 years ago want it again find one 13 k miles for 6200$ is the fer deal or what u thinks
I don't remember what I paid. I think around $5500. It was a very clean example with 24k miles. Had some clutch slip. But easy fix for me. Then I built it into a hybrid B1 model basically.
There are a few things to check first. Pack thickness as assembled needs to be measured with calipers. There is a range it needs to be in spec. Then make sure cable hasn't stretched or adjusting will be tricky. The mods I did were for clutch oiling purposes for drag launching. I also upgraded to the B model clutch since A models are a bit known to explode.
Congrats on the new bike Jeff! Hope you're enjoying your new digs in Nevada! 👍🏻🇺🇸🍻
Thank you!
Love these bikes such an underrated bike new sub here more content on this bike please

@Aladinscave someone had already done the rocker cover gasket fix on mine.
But I sold the bike. On to newer projects
Congrats! Had an 01, lots of mods. Best bike ever!!!
It's been a great bike so far!
I had the red one 2000 ...man those wete the days..

My friend has Grey zx12r, is about 25k miles on it.
Don't ride it, or you'll want one.

Whoops. Lol ..
I just went to radials and gave up on the old axial 6 pots.

Yeah I updated the swingarm and the shock! The bike has been great so far.
I need to do the brakes on my 00 - don’t know where to start

Lcove the vid...I have the exact 12 also but mine has a muzzy 1317cc billet motor
I bet that things a beast!
what details can you give the punters on the radial brake conversion?
What is a punter? And what details are you looking for?
R they zx12 forks and brakes/year/any mods 2 fit

Hey, Jeff. I have a 2000. Keep getting clutch issues. Can you tell me about the mod?

i have had mine since 2005, hit 329kms, just flipped over 100000 total klms
Bulletproof bikes!
@@AdventureJeff269 no i blew up the clutch and had to fix shitty wiring that almost burnt her up
@randydoan7536 yeah true clutch is a weak point & oil can wick up to the rear electrics.
Power commander un governs engine,
I had a 2000 model. There were no speed restrictions on that model if that's what you mean..
Power commander just controls fuel.
@AdventureJeff269 you right
😂 for 4 years i rode a 250r ninja. I thought i was ready. To all beginners, do not buy one of these
I would say not a great beginner bike lol.
They are the business, aren't they?
