one thing you can do to get over 2k on most maps is to drag a line starting at an overcrowding station to a station that's the same shape as most of the passengers waiting at the overcrowding station, then delete it and repeat
do the same thing with other lines and you'll get high scores in no time
    this is called ghost lining

    1. Dont use sharp angles, sharp angles mean, that the train WILL stop no matter what. Always try to go more than 90 and NEVER 180°!
    2. Minimize total length. Completing any length takes time, nonetheless.
    3. Have MANY changing stations, so passenger dont get carried around 17 stations long and block space in that train during that time.
    4. Always have ONE EXTRA LINE AND ONE EXTRA LOCOMOTIVE!! This way you can stop chaos even before it begins!
    5. Always take lines when reasonable. Sometimes you need tunnels, sometimes you need carriages, but mostly you want lines quick! Interchanges are an absolute waste, especially now when you follow my advice with the extra line and loc which is global, faster and more efficient.
    6. Dont let lines cross outside of stations, trains will slow down significantly when they meet another line.
Following these advices i even got a Top100 on Istanbul on my first try, since then only getting better in every station with almost every try. (Except Berlin and Paris, where I suck hard. I hate you both!)

@@pixxa37 No he meant 180. 180 is where you stop, turn around 180 degrees and go back the other way

Malcolm Wickham. No that’s 360 degrees 180 is a straight line and 90 degrees is a right angle

1:31 Doing this while you are "drowning in chaos" will end you.
When you remove lines - their trains have to drop off their passengers first.
They don't try to drop them off at their desired destination, rather the first stop.
This will bury your already overcrowded stations in more passengers.

in my experience to have only one connection between the line is not good. e.g. your passengers from far-end places will travel too long to change lines (filling up the trains). the more connections the better because trains also arrive more frequent at these stations

A useful tip is to run lines parallel to each other to maximize efficiency. That way, if you have 3 lines that do the same thing for 3-ish stations, you can good stuffs yes.

    ⏺️ are the majority
    🔼 Semi majority
⏹️ Mostly Only one or two, (sometimes up to five depends )
    Other shapes, appear only once.
That's why sufficient variety is impossible with large numbers of stops in a line and lines need to create toghether an efficient variety transport.

0:31 This is false. Trains will pick up anything they can deliver before turning around.
Trains running in opposite direction have to pass each other.
Trains on the same line SLOW DOWN to pass each other.
Pick a direction (CW/CCW) and stick with it.

on a loop line you ONLY put trains in ONE direction becouse train will pick up all passengers regardless of whether the closest station is on the other station, this allow you to maximize your trains use, having multiple direction loop lines make train less efficient if your line already have a alternating station shape setup since all other passenges expect unique and squares can be dealt with easily, and don't use too much Interchanges becouse it only going to delay your problem and not solve it altogether, only use it if you are trying to have a goal and not worry about solving the ploble like when you are doing a challenge, the other thing about using interchange is that after delaying the problem you can't even get a line, tunnle ot carriage to do a better job in ths is case no matter it's simply temporarily interchange passenger jamming the station or wave of passenger clogging your system

Damn. I can't seem to get beyond 1200 customers (in London) and I already do/am-aware-of ALL of this. But looking at the leaderboards, 1200 is painfully average. I don't know what else I can be doing.

Why "keep the number of lines small" ?
I see lines as segregation and thus a way to keep things managable and reduce global influece.
