DROWNED IN DUST
We could never imagine driving down a riverbed. This is a first for us.
The Khowarib Schlusch is probably Kaokoland’s most populated riverbed when it comes to animals. It is home to large numbers of plains game as well as several herds of desert-adapted elephants.
This trail begins just West of Sesfontein and extends toward the small village of Umumbaadjie.
The river is more a swathe of sand than a true river, flowing only every few years when heavy rainfall occurs in the central escarpment of Namibia.

Dankie vir 'n lekker kyk video. Ek was jare gelede deur die Schlucht vir werk, en het elke oomblik geniet. As jy uit die bakkie klim, sink jou voete lekker diep in daai sagte silt weg. Hoe kry julle dit reg dat die kamera so stil is terwyl julle ry? Al my goed kom uit asof ek die grootste bewerasies het, en op die einde van die tyd kan mens amper nie sien wat aangaan nie.

Hello Salome. Dankie vir die kyk. Daardie stof is iets anders maar dis ongelooflike wereld. Die videos is geneem met 'n selfoon wat teen die voorruit vasgesit is. Albert het 'n ekstra stut ingesit om dit te stabiliseer. 😊

Thank you, very nice !!! What is the name of that campsite? Also google maps can't find the Umumbaadjie village, does it go by a different name or is there something other place nearby to use for finding its location.

Dimitri, thanks for watching. The camp is Puros community campsite. Lovely place and the best view but be self-sufficient there are not always water.
