This is a clip of Rev. Dr. Frank E. Ray, Sr. being featured at a Dottie Peoples's Live Recording at Pastor Ray's church in Mempis, TN. You can find the song on the "He Said It" album.
Todays Gospel music....can't compare😔😔 Don't write/ compose Gospel Songs like this anymore . Back when folks had.....Church🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 Hallelujah 🙏🏿🙏🏿 4/2020
I really enjoy old time Gospel music. It up lifts me to really praise God.AS IF I'm there in your Church singing right along. Every morning when I get up I have your music on praising God.The music is very good.
I stand corrected... that was four years ago and I forgot. And I'm all for other people's belief systems if they really make them more loving, more compassionate, more excepting, more peaceful, more tolerent...'Can't we all get along?" But unfortunately, religion tends to divide; There is an inherent intolerence in any one who has "the one true belief system". Peace...I like the passion and the groove. "In my father's house, there are many mansions."
i have a strong determination. to serve my lord and saviour the rest of my days. that old land-mark for me is friendly baptist church in the logan section in the city of philadelphia. to god b the glory.
Actually you can. It's referring to the baptism in water which is symbolic of death, burial and resurrection. We've been singing this song all my life and these are the words we use. The verse is the progression of a beleiver called into the fold (sons and daughters) and then baptized (buried in the water) coming up out of the water shouting which is the fire that burns and the wheel refers to the prayer wheel!!! Because after the baptism services we would pray something serious.
Let us all go back to the old landmark, and then stay in the service of the lord. Preacher preach the word in the old time way, and we'll stay in the service of the lord. lets go down to the river in the old time way, and we'll stay in the service of the lord. *not sure but first one sounds like* (sons and daughters buried in the floor?) and the others are: comin up shoutin nobody doubtin fire burnin wheels turn I'm gonna Stay in the service.
OKAY...OKAY....These are the words to THIS version. That's all. I'm sure Mr. Herbert's version was meaningful and wonderful but Dottie made a slight upgrade. I didn't mean to push a button. God Bless!
I think this is "Baptist Bump" tempo, not the usual COGIC or Apostolic speed (which I prefer)...a different take, with some traveling lyrics from other songs!
Maybe those are the words that you'll sing but we sing it like Dr. Ray in the clip and the Words are Sons and (Daughters) Buried in the (Water) Coming Up (Shouting) Nobody (Doubting) Fire keep (Burning) Wheel keep (Turning) and we'll stay in the service of the Lord!!
Sons and daughters , bury in the water , coming up shouting , nobody doubting, , fire burning , wheel turning and we will stay in the service of the Lord . Ooh ooh ...
I didn't see one white person in the congregation. Too bad cause I'm an agnostic and I was moved by the obvious spirit in the music. Really grooving... and I don't like religion.
Still listen to this song! Daily! Love Pastor Ray!
Missed those old songs😢 Exactly why I go to TH-cam and listen to the older songs and Gospel Group
Thank you Lord for songs like these.
