Actually america experiments with a lot of weird pizzas all the time (in small independent shops usually). Recently I tried a 'Red White and Blue' pizza that was topped with cream cheese, blueberries and red onions, which sounds weird but turned out fucking delicious

So I'm not sure if Japan treats those surveys the same as the US would, but in the US anything less than perfect grades is treated by corporate as if the employee spat in your face and cussed out your mother. You would think 4 stars would mean something like "oh it was good but it's not like the employee had fed it to me" but often it's treated as a negative response. One of my old jobs 5 was good, 4 or less actively counted against us and lost us hours.
This is of course just my experiences and some people I know in several kinds of customer facing employment positions. I'm sure it's not universal to every job in the US.
And that's why unless shit hit the fan so bad I thought it was a bad dream, I give 5 stars. Seriously. My Lyft driver drove into oncoming traffic (by accident). 5 stars+tip. You would have to have done irredeemably bad for me to give below 5 stars.

Pizza Hut exists, they JUST did a quesadilla pizza, plus it's the US, we have weird shit everywhere ngl. Ohio's potato pizza's probably common across most of the midwest, since we have those in Arkansas

I love pickles but also... that is way too many, Papa Johns had a hamburger pizza awhile back that I would split with my husband and it had chopped pickles with... probably half of what was on that one slice throughout the ENTIRE pizza. It was pretty dang good! This though is just cheese and pickles, I would have just pulled off all but two per slice or all of them and ate it as a cheese pizza. Bless you for your suffering Aki

The people who complain about food being too expensive in Japan are the ones who are choosing to pay more when there are tons of ways to save/spend less.
There's nothing like paying top money for something that you can't even bear to eat. You don't want it to go to waste, but you can't stomach it either. For me, this is the equivalent of a carrot pizza, carrots being my least favorite food items.

I love pickles but those are a LOT of pickles! Also as a person who also has eyebrow piercings. I suggest soaking it in warm saline solution for a while to clean and sterilize it. Like 3 times a day (about 5 minutes) for a week or 2. Then when it's soaked gently wiggle it to get it loose. Worked for me when they got inflamed. And make sure the bar isn't too short.
We have a pizza place in Alaska that occasionally does a pickle Rick pizza. But it comes with garlic cream sauce, mozzarella and provolone cheeses, fried chicken, dill pickle chips, bacon, and garnished with spicy Sriacha sauce. I’ve never had it because I don’t like pickles either.

In the US if I spend $50 for a pizza it's going to be 18 inches/ 46cm diameter and have about 12 toppings along with extra cheese and sauce. It will weight about 7 lbs/ 3.5kgs. I've seen pickles on pizza before but it was a cheese burger pizza. (actually close to a cheese burger taste)
Pickle Pizza is an iconic fair food where I live! (I'm p sure that Canada is obsessed with pickles especially considering our chip flavours) the one I get has a creamy dill sauce as well as cheese and its just a really nice balance. If you couldn't tell I do love our local pickle pizza but I also love pickles in general.. like any kind of pickle. Also deep fried pickles are really good! The local fair/rodeo loves having new weird foods every year. Like this year there was ketchup and mustard ice cream, mini doughnut boba lemonade, and a cherry koolaid chicken burger! I actually tried the koolaid burger, it was surprisingly good.
Fun fact. There is a privately owned pizza shop hear in Perth Australia (in rockingham) that essentially made this pizza but added chicken and Kewpie Mayo. They called it the tokyo pizza xD... it was good in a weird way.
Btw a sauceless pizza is not so uncommon, is actually a thing both italy and the italian part of switzerland and we call it Pizza bianca which mean literally white pizza because is without the tomato sauce and for certain toppings is actually better without the sauce because the various tastes wouldn't compliment each other

i remember being on a long stay in japan years ago and had a sudden urge for some western style food, checked out the local dominoes , saw the average prices where like 5 times the price of the same thing back home and then quickly decided to visit my favourite local udon joint instead lol
Aki hasnt been to the US for a while. Most basic pizzas here can run about $12 for a small. Maybe 10 for a personal pan. Its usually around $15-17 on average for a whole pizza though at most spots

My local place does a pickle pie that has a base of tzatziki sauce, pizza cheese, and pickles (kosher dill), and is topped with garlic aoli. It's actually pretty good. They also put pickles on few others, like a cheeseburger-type pizza or a Cuban sandwich pizza, and it's actually... not bad. Thankfully only $10. This, however, would probably break me because there needs to be SOME type of sauce... even if it's only garlic butter.
In belgium, a medium pizza at domino's is 14€ ish (depends which one). But they have a lot of good deals from time to time (1+1 free, discount days, ect...)
the second-closest pizzeria to my place has one with pan-seared hot dog chunks, pickles, ketchup, topped with fried onions, and optional hot dog stuffed crust sprinkled with hot sauce.
The main thing about pizza is the dough. If you can find a place that makes pizza with really good dough, you can order the most plain-Jane pizza from them, then put extra things on top, zap it in the oven for a few minutes, and there you go.

I've seen pickles on pizza before but it was a cheese burger pizza. (actually close to a cheese burger taste)
Pickle Pizza is an iconic fair food where I live! (I'm p sure that Canada is obsessed with pickles especially considering our chip flavours) the one I get has a creamy dill sauce as well as cheese and its just a really nice balance. If you couldn't tell I do love our local pickle pizza but I also love pickles in general.. like any kind of pickle. Also deep fried pickles are really good!
The local fair/rodeo loves having new weird foods every year. Like this year there was ketchup and mustard ice cream, mini doughnut boba lemonade, and a cherry koolaid chicken burger! I actually tried the koolaid burger, it was surprisingly good.

Fun fact. There is a privately owned pizza shop hear in Perth Australia (in rockingham) that essentially made this pizza but added chicken and Kewpie Mayo. They called it the tokyo pizza xD... it was good in a weird way.
Btw a sauceless pizza is not so uncommon, is actually a thing both italy and the italian part of switzerland and we call it Pizza bianca which mean literally white pizza because is without the tomato sauce and for certain toppings is actually better without the sauce because the various tastes wouldn't compliment each other

but, Pickling is something done to Food, A Pickled Egg is technically a Pickle, what people call

Tsunderes are ok, but Jalapeños are delicious, soooooo the Tsundere Pizza,

Prices vary in the states and location of the stores or fast food. It will be a lot more expensive in cities and large towns compared to small towns.
I had a urge for pizza and randomly thought of you Aki reviewing pizzas and look what ya did! Its always funny to see your reactions. Pickles aren’t bad for fried chicken sandwiches but not anything else.
i remember being on a long stay in japan years ago and had a sudden urge for some western style food, checked out the local dominoes , saw the average prices where like 5 times the price of the same thing back home and then quickly decided to visit my favourite local udon joint instead lol

Aki hasnt been to the US for a while. Most basic pizzas here can run about $12 for a small. Maybe 10 for a personal pan. Its usually around $15-17 on average for a whole pizza though at most spots
Pickles on Pizza is pretty common in the U.S.A in Minnesota atleast
sometimes its baked under the cheese or sometimes you get a side of pickles to place on top

My local place does a pickle pie that has a base of tzatziki sauce, pizza cheese, and pickles (kosher dill), and is topped with garlic aoli. It's actually pretty good. They also put pickles on few others, like a cheeseburger-type pizza or a Cuban sandwich pizza, and it's actually... not bad. Thankfully only $10. This, however, would probably break me because there needs to be SOME type of sauce... even if it's only garlic butter.

In belgium, a medium pizza at domino's is 14€ ish (depends which one). But they have a lot of good deals from time to time (1+1 free, discount days, ect...)
I absolutely love pickles and wouldn't hesitate to try a pizza like that. 5000 yen is steep af though, regardless of the pizza type.
the second-closest pizzeria to my place has one with pan-seared hot dog chunks, pickles, ketchup, topped with fried onions, and optional hot dog stuffed crust sprinkled with hot sauce.
The main thing about pizza is the dough. If you can find a place that makes pizza with really good dough, you can order the most plain-Jane pizza from them, then put extra things on top, zap it in the oven for a few minutes, and there you go.

As a Taiwanese I can proudly say, at least there's no "chicken testicles pizza" in japan lol
