Just wanna say the guy that blocked the punt is noah short. He went to my high school and played varsity runningback and linebacker when I was on jv. Cool to see him do this! He got moved to DB when he joined army i guess
When it comes to football players, few teams are going to have players that are as intelligent as Army and Navy. Few games are going to have players on both sides as motivated to win. It is a great game to watch and better to go to. The fans are as a whole the nicest, most courteous I have seen. The rivalry is huge, but still very respectful. I went one year, and sat among Navy fans. One enlisted Army soldier sat near me, a few rows closer to the field. The back and forth between him and those around him never stopped. The talked trash as much as possible. But, the Navy fans, probably a lot of veterans, also would not let the soldier spend a dime. Anytime one of them left, they asked if he wanted anything. Anytime he did, they bought it. They each rooted as much as possible, but they also were respectful. Good breakdown of one team watching another's tendencies and planning on exploiting them. Thanks.
Something I've been seeing (mostly thanks to you) are a number of punters numbered in the 90s this year. I don't have anything profound, I just see a lot of 90s and 94s especially.
Football and war share many similarities. Like holding a line and exploiting weaknesses in that line to attack elements in the rear. I’d honestly love to see a game of football played on a field complete with rivers, hills and forests...but someone would end up dead. Imagine a linebacker literally running downhill before hitting a defenseless receiver.
Genuine, but maybe dumb question that popped into my head regarding punt blocks- why, during short yardage situations (the kind where the punter is trying to land it inside the 5 and have it check up there, like Wishnowsky's punt with 2:39 left in the third) does the receiving team even put a return man back there? I'd think in a situation like that, your chances of getting a return is slim to none anyway.... why not just go for an all out punt block? Or alternatively, at least look like you're going for an all out punt block, and hope you either block the punt or at least tie up the coverage for a split second more, increasing the chances of a touchback for little risk. Sure maybe in some situations they act like a safety on a fake, but I think those are very narrow circumstances. IDK, random thought that popped into my head.
It's an interesting conundrum, I'd say because mostly the risk to blocking a punt is getting the Roughing call which could switch it from you getting the ball back to them kicking a field goal in + situations. On top of that, you want to play to a punter miss hitting short so if the ball lands from the 10-20 you want someone who can run up and field it so you don't get punished worse, realistically if there's no returner, you don't need a great punt to pin them deep, so you can just plop it over everyone's head as soon as you catch it and let the roll do the rest.
This game was so boring except for this and a few other special teams plays. Also, thank you so much for bringing a little more culture to us heathens.
Bro stop it! your content is too alluring. I see your vids on my page and I am like yeah let's see some punt break downs. HOW AM I NEVER DISAPPOINTED. surely you are going to hit a dud soon. You bet Imma be hear to finally say it.
Hearing someone talk about punting so profound is like seeing 2 dudes out in public holding hands making out telling each other how much they love each other*
This is called "projecting". I get it, you find the video alluring in a way that touches you sexually. However, no matter how much you want it to be true, it's just going to be that and you're going to have to live with your sexual frustrations in that punting will never be the gay lover that you long for.
That was some amazing punt block defense. Congrats on Army seeing a tendency and using it.

I'm an Army Veteran, so I may be a little biased...but I would be shocked if the Army team DIDN'T use Sun Tzu's Art of War in their football games.
Awesome breakdown!
Loved this breakdown. Jomboy has his kitschy lip reading, but this is high class analysis!
They'll be teaching this in the academy classrooms
Hurt so bad to watch this in person! Great breakdown though 😩

Not dumb. Great question (and answer).
The Art of War is a pretty short book and is a pretty easy read. I recommend everyone read it. Go Army. Beat Navy.
Wonderful
raiders secret tactic got banned :(
I figured it would
Why would it? Pat Mcafee did a video on it too. Was that also removed?
Nice strategic and tacital assessment. Just subbed. Are you a Dan of Frank Ganz or Dave Toub?
I'm actually new to the game of being Fans of coaches but I'm sure as I delve deeper I'll be more familiar with those names

Does AF’s center have a blocking assignment? Looks like, ‘no.’

Some times yes
If you have something worthy of responding to, then yes, the man almost always responds. This is one of those cases where it's not as worthy. Lol
