Nice video! Good titles and captions, good editing, lighting, sound, etc.

you can clearly hear it though the video. the stock speakers were a garbled mess like a glob of sound. The polk speakers actually had clarity and instrument seperation.

You got to put an amp in their. Check out Audio control 2.300 2 channel amp. 75wx2 into 4 ohms or 150x2 I to 2 ohms. I have it on my bike and it rocks. Affordable to 239.99 on eBay.

John Hassler Yeah, I was a bit suprised myself. However, what the audio from a camera cannot capture is the fullness of the sound. The Polk's deliver a fuller sound than the stock OEM speakers. Of course, that is my opinion and everyone has a different taste when it come to sound.

Reason it is not as loud is because you used a 4 ohm speaker and not a 2 ohm speaker

I'm trying to help my dad with his 2016 CVO and he paid some local shop to put in a setup and its shit. I'm going to redo it and theres so little room in the speaker pods and the speakers have to be really shallow. The Polks they put in are cheap models and have no bass, do these db6501 have considerable bass? he plays the music extremely loud he's got some hearing loss. they did instal a nice JL Audio 4 channel amp though. Also are these the Polk Audio db6501 or the Polk db6501s. s for SLIM

Man, I wish I could give a definite answer to this, but it is completely opinion based. As far as more bass goes, I think they push more than the stock HD 5.125" speakers. I haven't had a chance to get the bike out on the open road and up to a cruising speed yet, but to me, the Polk's have a cleaner, fuller sound if that makes sense. My head unit has a built in 288 watt amp and I have had the volume up to 20 on the head unit and the speakers were loud and still crisp. Anything over level 10 with the stock HD speakers and they became very "tinny" and distorted. Hopefully this makes sense.
As far as depth, these Polk's are the standard 651 speakers. The back of the box shows a dimension diagram and lists the depth of the speaker from the base of the mounting ring to the very back of the magnet at 2 inches even.
Again, hopefully this helps you out and good luck!

Thinks for the quick reply! I think after a long search and seeing you installed these also and they're the regular ones this is the way to go. I haven't seen in the front fairing but the guy that installed it all was so adamant that only the shallow mount speakers would go in the front fairing. Thats also what my dad didn't like about the stock speakers were that they got really tinny sound at higher volumes. I will make a video also of the finished product when we are rolling!

You're Welcome. I also used the Mepro adapter rings. I believe I got them an Amazon for under $15. The only issue I have ran into is that once the 6.5" speakers are installed with the adapter rings, I couldn't connect my stock horizontal braces due to the difference in size and positioning of the larger speakers. I don't know what the inside of a 2016 fairing looks like, but I ended up getting speaker adapter braces from Hawg Wired (Hawg Wired 6.5in. Speaker Adapter Braces SSB65). I have yet to install them, but that will probably be another video when the weather cools down and I get the fairing off (AGAIN!)
Good luck to you and your pops!

Thanks for the review! The Polk's sound fuller and less harsh for sure!
