McCartney is a master. I hear this song as a connection between The Beatles (Helter Skelter), John Lennon (Mother) and Nirvana (Endless Nameless). More than just a Nirvana reunion.
Helter Skelter is considered the first hard rock song ever. So the Beatles are credited with that. But it was Paul who wrote it and arranged it. So we have to thank the Beatles for Hard Rock.
I consider Helter Skelter the first metal son. It was my favourite song growing up, and when I became a metal fan, I discovered that I wasn't alone with that opinion, and some metal band even covered that song!
This is an amazing blend of time frames. Helter Slekter meets the 90s and Nirvana. This was a great collaboration. Two generations respecting each other.
Christian Bray Hi Christian, I knew that! I was remarking more on the fact that Smear was playing with McCartney, given his origins with such a relatively obscure punk band! Also, it struck me that Darby Crash wanted to become a rock legend by intentionally OD'ing yet did it the night before Lennon was murdered, thus, lost out on his bid for being a well-known rock martyr.....kind of interested me how the two tied together. Kind of what prompted my comment.
Hadn't even considered it from that angle. But you're absolutely right. A GERM and a BEATLE sharing the stage is something to bow down and thank the rock gods for for sure.
The mischievous side of me likes to think that John and Kurt are giggling about it somewhere making snarky comments, but actually I think Kurt would have appreciated the Beatles-Nirvana synthesis. But I'm biased.
Dam... even after these years as vocalist and guitarist of Foo Fighters, Dave still the best with his drum. He was one of my favorite drummer along with Metallica's drummer Lars Ulrich. I really miss it to see him playing drum again like this !_! This performance is really awesome. All the legends are here! Dave, Krist and Paul McCartney. Nirvana and The Beatles
Not very many younger artists can say they have played with two of the greatest fathers of real rock music. Sir Paul and John Paul Jones, Dave has had that honor.
I am a huge fan of foo fighters, I love kurt and nirvana, and I love the beatles (paul mc cartney is great)... but still... I don't know what to think about this.
Who gives a fuck what anyone thinks about it. You have this many legends on stage, it's fucking magic. Anything with Dave on the drums is gunna be fuckin loud.
This was epic. The Beatles were my first "favorite band" and Foo Fighters are my current most "favorite band". My dad was 10th of 11 kids, so I had some much older cousins. I was in 4th grade when 2 of cousins came in all excited about the new 45 they just bought....I Want To Hold Your Hand. Been rockin out ever since!
It'd ridiculous that McCartney 60 years on is still the coolest man in rock n roll. Who else could pull off rocking out with what looks like a rectangular looking ukulele? 🤣
So Sir Paul, does the most amazing slide solo on a shoe box guitar! And the idiot producer has the camera man on the rhythm guitarist for the whole solo! What a bummer! I hope they got fire! Rip Curt
In the interview Kurt hated his SOLO CAREER and John Lennon's too. Not as a person but just musically. So he probably would have still liked to have meet him!
this geneation is not ready for this realness rock, they dont know what to think cause they dont know that Music is Alive and is for enjoy it and feel it...if you "dont get" this song? then your soul is not awake.
McCartney is a master.
I hear this song as a connection between The Beatles (Helter Skelter), John Lennon (Mother) and Nirvana (Endless Nameless).
More than just a Nirvana reunion.
I totally agree. Paul's vocals are so good on this. White alblum era.
And Dave once again in the back bringing the thunder. It doesn't matter who's in front of him Dave makes the drums a front man's position.
Hes the goat
Hell yes! Perfectly said!!
Except the person in front of him is Paul McCartney
I wonder what Kurt would think of this... You know, considering he was a huge fan of the Beatles.
Gotta imagine he'd be stoked!
Fucking loved it he would. Kid was singing hey Jude at fucking 2!!
im sure he was looking down wih a proud smile on his face!
im not so sure about that one....
He hate Paul and love John through..
I'm amazed that a guy of McCartney's age can howl like that! Just amazing!
Unfortunately, due to his age, McCartney's voice has weakened very much since then.
I was thinking that my watchings like is there anything Paul McCartney won't tackle
Soon as it started I could hear Paul doing some helter skelter.
Paul is the only acceptable replacement for Kurt.
Fofee what about j mascis Mark lanegan mark of mh?
@@marioalberto3277 No
kurt is irreplaceable
@@marioalberto3277 no!
Wow did not realize paul could rock this hard
Helter Skelter is considered the first hard rock song ever. So the Beatles are credited with that. But it was Paul who wrote it and arranged it. So we have to thank the Beatles for Hard Rock.
'Helter Skelter' (1968) is one of the first hard rock songs.
'All Day and All of the Night' (1965), by The Kinks, is earlier.
I'd have to agree! Nice!
I consider Helter Skelter the first metal son. It was my favourite song growing up, and when I became a metal fan, I discovered that I wasn't alone with that opinion, and some metal band even covered that song!
I agree with the spirit of your thesis, though I'd go further and call it one of the first PUNK rock songs.
A Beatle in a middle of a Nirvana reunion, can't get anymore legendary than this.
I bet krist and Dave are just like man I miss the nineties
jack holton the EARLY 90s. I doubt they wamt to revive 94 to 99 again
Sh!t man. I miss the 90's.
Dude, we are all like, Man I miss the 90's!!!!
paul be like...m8 i miss the 50's🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is an amazing blend of time frames. Helter Slekter meets the 90s and Nirvana. This was a great collaboration. Two generations respecting each other.
Mark Gamble ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Dave Grohl could literally punch me in the face and I’d say “thank you sir, you’re a legend” 😍
Dave Grohl was in the zone....did anyone else see that??
LeadSlinger . He always is anytime he sits behind.them drums
Oh yeah...dude never comes to f@ck around.
When you break your fucking leg and still finish the concert..
Pat Smear from the Germs jamming with Paul McCartney. Awesome.
Steven Adkins Pat Smear had been with Foo Fighters for years now and played with Nirvana when they released 'In Utero.'
Kind of what prompted my comment.
and was the second guitarist on 'Bleach.' too..
Hadn't even considered it from that angle. But you're absolutely right. A GERM and a BEATLE sharing the stage is something to bow down and thank the rock gods for for sure.
Alastair Gardner no he wasn’t
this is real Music not some studio made song. Rock n roll. Pure Power And Loud!
Kenneth Ladesma I mean..... What you just said was pretty stupid....pretty much every song is studio made
Kenneth Ladesma 100% real music
taj obrien think he means not digital computer created sounds.
I'd die for an album from this incarnation.
Kurt would have been so happy about this.
Dave was going ham on the drums.
And Krist is wearing shoes!
This is the first time I've seen krist novoselic play live with shoes on! 🤣
Overall, this was one badass performance! Had a real 90's feel to it
holy cow.. Paul and Nirvana.. Dave back on drums.. stellar
Dave is officially the god of drums
The mischievous side of me likes to think that John and Kurt are giggling about it somewhere making snarky comments, but actually I think Kurt would have appreciated the Beatles-Nirvana synthesis. But I'm biased.
Easter Island Statues Kurt grew up listening to the Beatles. It was his first indroduction into rock music as watered down as it was.
Puddle of Adrenaline watered down?
Easter Island Statues i think you’re right. I can see them totally jamming in the afterlife ♥️💔✨
Boden J oh come on, it was early days but you can’t call it watered down.
dave grohl is the best rock n roll drummer to ever live
MrRushbrown maybe the best that's still alive.
Yea no
No
Nah, john Bonham.
I lthink jimmy chamberlain
I bet this breaks krist and dave's hearts .. it breaks mine 😭😭 kurt is the best may his soul rest in peace😔😔
I can die now.
So perfect.
Dam... even after these years as vocalist and guitarist of Foo Fighters, Dave still the best with his drum. He was one of my favorite drummer along with Metallica's drummer Lars Ulrich. I really miss it to see him playing drum again like this !_!
This performance is really awesome. All the legends are here! Dave, Krist and Paul McCartney. Nirvana and The Beatles
Riana ZeinF He was saying in an interview that he still to this day plays drums more than his guitar, so he's never been out of practice
Not very many younger artists can say they have played with two of the greatest fathers of real rock music. Sir Paul and John Paul Jones, Dave has had that honor.
It's a straight up jam! No more no less. Cuz that's what boys do, they jam!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!
Hell yeah, and awesome jam! Nothing more fun!
If this is not epic then i don't know what is!
Brilliant. Kurt would love this I reckon.
Just love Dave sitting on the drums
Michał Rojek right? the guy has been so successful.
Please release an album. This has more balls than anything Ive heard in a while... Kurt and Lemmy where there in spirit.
Lemmy was alive then
But he wasn't there.
Right on waloacme!!! Agreed!!!
The world needs this album
There is this album out if you want, it is the soundtrack of a Dave Grohl documentary and it's called"Sound City-Real to reel"
Man look at Pat’s face in 3:39 he is just happy
Tbh he always looks happy
he's the ringo starr of nirvana & foo fighters. so much positive energy from those guys.. XD
Certain parts of this are pure Nirvana and as close as we'll ever get to that vibe of them live again
how does it always take me so long to discover shit like this...
heat mizer same 🤦🏻♀️
Kurt, a huge Beatles fan, would have loved this. Would be amazing to have a whole album!
brilliant sir macca playing punk...
im 14 years old and im in tears for so many reasons
This Foo Fighter was a Beatle. This must be true Nirvana! Music bridges generations
Dave truly was the backbone of Nirvana
It tasted like helter skelter with grunge touches
exactly. or, why Don't we do it in the road.
Sounds to me more like some of the stuff he did with wings, Let Me Roll It for example. Still dope
I am a huge fan of foo fighters, I love kurt and nirvana, and I love the beatles (paul mc cartney is great)... but still... I don't know what to think about this.
dexterWES shits had no dynamics .... started out too loud and stayed too loud .... but they played OK.
Who gives a fuck what anyone thinks about it. You have this many legends on stage, it's fucking magic. Anything with Dave on the drums is gunna be fuckin loud.
Not thinking, just enjoy
feels like a weak White Album track -- Why Don't We Do it in the Road, etc
Saw first "reunion" of Nirvana with Paul in Seattle at Safeco Field earlier that year.
Was front row ! (Well worth the cost.)
SIR PAUL still rocks
Sirvana..do it!!
This song is fkn' awesome
METZ ZTEM what is the name of this song ??
This is awesome. Why haven I seen this
The greatest ! Yea Paul Keep On Rockin'!
Nearly bought me tears watching Krists face ... awsome to see him playing with Dave again
Lair of the Mastermind agreed ♥️
4 Legends
This was epic. The Beatles were my first "favorite band" and Foo Fighters are my current most "favorite band". My dad was 10th of 11 kids, so I had some much older cousins. I was in 4th grade when 2 of cousins came in all excited about the new 45 they just bought....I Want To Hold Your Hand. Been rockin out ever since!
I think sounds like a Soundgarden track.....awesome. Except minus the awesome Chris Cornell vocals obviously! RIP Chris :(
momento épico nirvana y un beatle
It'd ridiculous that McCartney 60 years on is still the coolest man in rock n roll. Who else could pull off rocking out with what looks like a rectangular looking ukulele? 🤣
Fucking awsome jam mm song
Would love to hear these guys do a full album!
Yes.
Very Good !!! Espectacular
No se es espectacular siempre disfrutar de exelentes artistas de pura. Calidad
(Whew)How could I have ever missed this?!
Only McCartney could do a nirvana tune with a fucking cigar box uke.
Nick Spaulding not a nirvana tune
You are very good!!!
So Sir Paul, does the most amazing slide solo on a shoe box guitar! And the idiot producer has the camera man on the rhythm guitarist for the whole solo! What a bummer! I hope they got fire! Rip Curt
Eric Taylor *Kurt
Eric Taylor I
0:52-0:53
When dave folded his hands..
That moment made me very happy....
Dave is my hero
Totally fkn LEGENDARY!!!
well that rocked :)
Nirvana meet the wings
Am I the only one that thinks that Nirvana should reform with Paul McCartney and tour around the world?.....Just me? ok. -_-
Nirvana ain't the same without Kurt, man
Well, he's dead,....so.....
Great idea!!!
"Smells Like Yellow Submarine", "Lucy in the Sky with Heart-Shaped Boxes", "Pennylane Tea", "About a Walrus"...
drain jude :s
Ratelzwatel oh my god yes
I’m imagining Lennon making some smart ass comments about Paul whole Kurt is smoking his lungs out with George
STONER ROCK Desert Topzera
BeatleVana
The Nereatles
Junior Henderson Sgt. Bleach’s Lonely Nevermind Band
This was a bit surreal seeing the most prominent surviving member dad's favourite band fronting the remaining members of my favourite band.
Holy shit chilllllls
Dave kills it
Can't believe there's no side band with this lineup!
this is too fucking cool. I love it!
He forgot to name-drop Smear's pre-Nirvana hard-core punk pioneer band (which also lost its own lead-singer, Darby Crash), The Germs.
Nice
The Beatles+ Nirvana+ The Germs
Foo Nirtles
Dave is intense
Why does anyone need to think anything? It's cool - end of!
Germs meets Beatles. Too wild.
Holy fuck this awesome
Pat's face says it all 4:55
Fucking Dave at 4.35
This looks like it was filmed In the 90s
Holly smokes, that was awesome!
This is like a Viagra commercial
cool song. has the same tempo and feel of Helter Skelter , kinda
increible beatles y nirvana,, yo me hubiera orinado.
Wish Kurt would have got to meet him...
He hated him, but loved the beatles music
He hated him? Source?
Ratelzwatel hated him? that's a lot of crap buddy. NOT TRUE.
No its true. Look at his 1994 rollingstone interview
In the interview Kurt hated his SOLO CAREER and John Lennon's too. Not as a person but just musically. So he probably would have still liked to have meet him!
Who's the best drummer. Dave Grohl or Ringo Star?
CobaltNight or Jon Bonnam.
this is fuckin savage!!
Fucking hell that was awesome!
A bawn....
Funny how paul mc cartney can tuck his shirt into his pants and still be cooler than all the punkrockers on stage...
Name of the song, anyone?
Cut Me Some Slack
It's a cool song and all but I don't no if I like the fact that they said it was a Nirvana reunion but there is no Nirvana with out Kurdt
JOE W Kurt would fucking love this though. I think he was watching from whether we go smiling :)
Helter Skelter plus Dave and Krist
4:18 sounded even metal!!
this geneation is not ready for this realness rock, they dont know what to think cause they dont know that Music is Alive and is for enjoy it and feel it...if you "dont get" this song? then your soul is not awake.
Come to think of it... The Beatles was Nirvana of their time!!!
