The best explanation of "ironic" I have ever heard! Thank you for it.
It is ironic that people who use word 'ironic' in wrong way are usually certain about it's meaning :)

I expected that irony and/or ironic means both - sarcasm and "made from iron" - and perhaps also the ironed clothing. To me, this seems the way the English language works. I don't know why they are doing that. They have enough words. Words don't need to share meanings. Especially not when, on the other side, there are 5 or 20 words for the same meaning. Hey, that's irony! And yes, I'm also sarcastic about it, but only because the reality is ironic!
So I was happy to hear that in this case the two meanings of "ironic" are so closely related that they share the same principal idea - one with regard to reality, the other with regard to a comment about reality.
Thank you for this happy start into the weekend! 🌈❤️🌞💐

Great vid. As mentioned in this, we all often get ironic and coincidence muddled up.
Here’s a true story for you that I heard on BBC Radio 2 last year, where the subject was about ‘Irony’
A copper from Warwickshire Police travelled on his motorbike to attend a three day presentation/course with a colleague at a hotel in the Swindon area.
Over those three days, this copper had his motorbike stolen in the middle of the night. According to the BBC, the ironic bit was that the presentation was about vehicle theft.
I disagree with that, I believe there’s coincidence and irony all in the same scenario.
The coincidence being that the presentation was about vehicle theft, when the copper had his bike stolen, so a very unfortunate coincidence on his part.
The ironic bit was that it was a copper that had his property stolen.

And the short form you used, 6 12 2020 is correct for native British English speakers. growing up, I never used "irony" or "ironic" to talk about something that was sarcastic or facetious. I also never used to use it to describe something being done "ironically" like someone wearing a 70s porn stache in a joking manner. I only ever really knew the definition for something "Strange or done expected" as in the examples of a house next to a fire station burning down, but I certainly never used it for the former uses.

I think the background music should be less, so we can focus on you more, but I'm not sure if this is an ironic occasion. On the contrary, on the condition that your voice volume was much higher that we would not be able to hear any word of your conversation, then we can call it irony because the video seems not to be working with its original essential target.
