I am so happy to see as a mom that you share your crafty goodies with your kids! That's how the love begins. My 4 year old son loves coming into my office where my craft supplies are and make cards for his friends sometimes to say thank you and others to say I'm sorry. Nothing is off limits and if it is, I have it stored where he can't reach so he can enjoy it all. Kudos to you.
I love love love this set!! I bought them awhile back after watching your video and a bunch of others that said, like you... "You don't need all of the colors". so I went and bought the whole set because, you know... if you don't have all 80 colors, your favorite shades are among the ones that you didn't buy! LOL I still haven't figured out the whole blending thing but the colors are wonderful and I love to watercolor with them! I'll just keep watching your videos and playing with them... one of these days I'll figure it out! LOL
I love having the true color attached to my pens! To make it a little faster, I punched out a bunch of white dots, made a little well of glue, dipped the pen in the glue, picked up a dot and let it dry. When done, I colored the attached dot! Made it much faster 👍
I have the set of 48 and after some trial and error, I am getting use to them and creating some beautiful cards. I have learned a lot by watching your videos, thank you.
Good for you Amy. I have the 48 pack and I love them. What I like most about these is that the colour is so strong and with water dilution it lightens which gives many more colour options.
Thank you so much for this video, I just purchased the 60 pack a few weeks back and struggling a bit getting used to the pens but love the colors and how they handle. glad to hear you too had trouble at first so I will forge ahead and watch all your videos. I think you are amazing. Thank you for all you do for us crafters.
In case you need more of the Deflecto X Divided storage containers, Grand and Toy [a Canadian company] has them on sale right now for $11.99 CAD. Free shipping over $50. I ordered some myself just today. Another great video, Amy, thanks! I bet your daughters will LOVE having their own Zig Real Colour Brush Markers!
I bought the 80 set after your post; thank you so much for the heads up! I was bummed at missing some colors. I justified it by giving my 60 set to my artistic 11-year-old niece (she was thrilled).
Thank you, thank you....for this video. I had the 36 pack and was able to upgrade to the 80 pack for virtually the same price ($125). Paid $10 for expedite shipping so they arrive on Thursday. I'm super happy! Thank you Amy.
I am dying to get my hands on these! I love vibrant colours and I love to Watercolour so I think they will be the best of both worlds. I love my inktense pencils but it's a bit difficult to get a good skin tone mix and there is only one colour of skin you can do and I like to mix it up and do different ethnicities I think it's cool to see the different looks you can get with one stamp
I used my Xyron to run the colored paper, with a one side laminate and one side glue, through the machine and then use a regular paper punch to punch out the circles for the top of each marker so the top is protected and I can easily glue the dots to the marker.
I do mine this way too, but I actually ended up keeping my Copics in that cube and using the inserts from the box the clean brush markers came in to store them. Love those cubes and they are not expensive either which is cool!
Paper choice is very important with these markers, for me they work best with smooth water color paper, like Bristol. Also for storage, I got one of the boxes you show, but hated it for my brush markers b/c of the shape of their caps, I now use that box for my water color pencils. For storing my brush markers, I have them in two 3-drawer stackable desk top cubes (plastic, 7"x7"x7"', found in any general item store) and divided the markers into 6 color families, one family per drawer...love it. I made a color pallet on paper for each color family and that paper is cut to fit the size of the drawer, plenty of room to add new colors. So if I'm coloring leaves, I just pull my green drawer and I'm good to go...no wasted time rambling around in that plastic box, digging out all my green markers. What a great Mom! These are an excellent reward to your kids for being responsible and helpful during the challenging move! Keep up the great work, your videos are so inspiring! Thank you!
I did not think of it on Amazon prime day to look at the real brush markers!! I did get in on some good deals but I did not think about the markers! I only have a set of 12 and I do love them.
Amy, I love these markers. I don't have the whole set like you but have been buying a few at a time. Can't afford the whole set but sure like them and love the brilliant colors. I'm so sorry I missed the great sale at Amazon's. I have also been trying to purchase the Copic Sketch markers also. Afew at a time. Wish they would have a really good sale on those. Love your video's. You are so talented and explain everything so well. Also love how you post all the supplies you use. Love you Amy and I don't miss any of your video's. I subscribe to you and now follow you on Facebook. Take care !
I followed your Amazon link a couple of weeks ago and I received my markers the day before yesterday. I live in Australia so it was great that they shipped here and for an amazing price even with the dollar exchange rate. I keep getting them out and looking at them but I'm waiting for a day off with nothing to do to play with them.
I paid $111.00 for the pens and $13.67 for post to Australia. This is US dollars so add around 25-30% exchange rate. I thought it was a good price and compared to SSS you would only get 60 pens for around the same price.
I love your videos and personal artistic style! So grateful for your time in sharing your process. Thank you! I apologize if I missed it but do these need to be stored horizontally or vertically or does it make a difference? I see the container you store them in but wasn't sure which direction you stored the container too. I'm wondering what the best price for them is. Currently finding $110 on Amazon Prime for the 80. Good price? Seems so compared to other sites.
Love the lid color tip, and I have the X storage container. I have the 60 set and while I would love to have the other 20, they would cost more then the 60 set when I got them on sale. I will watch for a discount. TU again
Amy, check out an office supply store for the plastic X boxes like Staples or Office Depot. I do not know if they ship to Canada but it's worth a look they may be cheaper and I know they have them.
I did months ago and no they don't carry them at any of the locations I went to - hence me ordering it from SSS - it was cheaper even with shipping from them than it was through any online Canadian retailer
I purchased them on March 24th. I think they arrive in Australia on wed. I suspect you bear more than a little of the blame...lol. I have the full set of Tombows and share your addiction to whole sets. I only had one or two very old Zig pens. I think I will enjoy the brush tip on these. They now do not post them here. I had 36 Prismacolour because when I got them that was the largest and Amazon had a fabulous deal on the 150. Heaps cheaper than buying extra singles. So I do have those but have barely used them....but eventually got Wink of Stella to work and have a butterfly card I just posted on Mogs4 with Wink over Tombows. Come Wednesday quick.
Great informative video Amy! I thought I would mention that for Canadian shoppers, after doing the calculation for the currency exchange by Googling "currency exchange calculator for U.S. to Canadian currency", the price on Amazon.ca is better than Amazon.com (I hope this makes sense). I also compared the Amazon.ca price to many others craft suppliers and Amazon.ca was the winner. As always, I recommend we all do our due diligence before purchasing any product. TFS Amy
hey Miss Amy.....here's a thought. ...just keep the new markers but change the old lids from the old with the color dot and put in on the new. put the new lid on the kids markers.....just sayin! lol big hugs, Carole I hope to get those one day! love them
already said in the video that I'm swatching all the new ones so that my kids can use the original sets with the swatches as well b/c it's easier for them to see the colors too
+Prairie Paper & Ink (AmyR) I'm sorry, I thought I might be able to help. Your so good to all of us and you have so much put on you....I just worry. I have a daughter thats going thru a similar season in her life and I love her so and of course worry about her so know that you have even more....I'm a Mom, what can I say? lol. just wanted to help, I'd never ever offend you on purpose. I have my grandbaby every day and sometimes when I'm watching vids, he distracts me. sorry...
There's nothing to be sorry about. I had several comment similar so I just copied and pasted my reply so everyone would see it :) I've got a lot on my shoulders but I'm used to it and it's all good - one day at a time :)
Timing for this video couldn't of come at a better time as I'm still contemplating buying a set. Still ambivalent about what size lol I'll be sure to hook up to your FB . Tfs & take care 🌹
I don't tell people what to do/buy - I bought the 80 after already having the 60 because I gave the 60 set to my oldest kids for them to use (and they loved them and use them often). I'm the type that needs to have all the color options available lol

I've fallen for these markets because of both the colors & the true brush tips. I color and practice brush script with them. can't say enough! (I bought 2 - 4 oacks, played with them & had to have more! I have 20 now. 😆
I know its to late but curious what Amazon Prime Day had them on sale for, I got two great deals that day but didn't look at craft stuff, lol darn ha ha
Hi Amy! As it turns out, I had forgotten I only ordered the set of 48. When I go to the Simon Says Stamp website, it lists the colors for 48 and 60 count, so I was able to figure out the extra markers from 48 to 60. But I cannot seem to find a listing with the 80 count markers. I have searched several websites, but with no luck. :( Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I saw your video when you posted it a year ago. I watched it again and thought the case you have for your old set was a good idea to purchase with the 80 count set. I have not yet purchased them but have a question? Does the case hold all the 80 markers ?
I was just curious why you didn't store them with the bottom end showing because the color is already on them. Is it because you wanted to see the color with water and without?
if you store the pens with the ends out in the X cube the tilt and slip out of the cube since the caps are thicker the pen. i did that for all of a day and every time i pulled one all the other fell out :( lol
For getting thee plastic wrap off the individually wrapped marker, twist the cap and the body of the marker in opposite directions until the plastic breaks and just pull off the plastic, easy easy!
I bought the 60 set several months ago and want to buy the other 20, but need to figure out which ones I don't have! I guess it's too much work for me to figure out which ones I need! Haha!
thank you for the review they look like they have thin brush I hope I just can't use the copic makers just can't stay in the lines of a small image Vicky:)) Texas
It is a very fine tip IF you use minimal pressure , they can color the tiniest little places that I find copics struggle with ....well worth the investment...I love mine
the 80 set is all the colors..the 24, 48 and 60 sets just have some of these 80 colors...I've heard that the website tells you which colors are in each set.
Hi Amy, I was just wondering how you can order from Amazon.com when you are located in Canada. I am in Alberta and tried to order and could not. Thanks very much! Live your work!
I order from there all the time - some things ship to Canada, some don't, and then something (like these markers often) say today they don't ship to Canada then check tomorrow and they will - it's just a matter of checking regularly LOL
I know this is an old video but I have a question about the Amazon link. When I search for the Zig markers on Amazon, it brings up the Kuretake markers as well as Zigs. Are they really the same? There's a huge price difference. Thanks!
they are a pen that colors like a marker but you can choose to then use water to move the color like watercolor paints if you want to..the color in these pens will still be " moveable" once it dries so not good for items that may get damp or if you want to add layers without smudging what is underneath... heaps of fun in a small box :)
I ordered a 48 piece set, l color coded them and did not like them. I sent them back . Did not know how to use them at the time? Now I could kick myself for doing that. I will get them back again.
I'm just curious ... In your Details, under "SUPPLIES" you link to a Martha Stewart Hole Punch instead of the one you're using which is a Stampin' Up! Hole Punch ... Why? Did they discontinue making the 1/4" hole punch?
the hole punches are made by the same company (EK Success) so they're actually the same thing. I link to businesses that are easily accessible for the majority of my viewers :)
that'd wear off not to mention more than likely buckle when being punched through - like I said I have no problem with how mine are and see no need for all the extra steps
Really? A 10 minute video to show a minute tip. I am dizzy watching your hands rapidly move. You mention Jennifer McGuire....go watch her videos again and see the efficiency and quickness.. My tip...Don't ramble on.

Asylum Lane, thanks for the tip. I will try some Bristol paper. I have Canson XL paper. Honestly I gave up on them too fast. Did not give them enough time to get used to. Not in my nature to give up, not sure why I didn't like them.

Great video. I am waiting till I get some money to purchase myself a set. And I must say I LOVE YOUR NAILS in this video!

I have a link to a playlist in the annotation in the video (as well as on my blog) with over a dozen videos I've posted already using these markers :)
so tiffed they came out with the set of 80, I bought the set of 60 when these markers first came out lol love them though, thank you for sharing
I saw these the other week.. I might invest In these pens now they have all of them :)
Love the lid color tip, and I have the X storage container. I have the 60 set and while I would love to have the other 20, they would cost more then the 60 set when I got them on sale. I will watch for a discount. TU again
if you buy a set on special, maybe take out the 20 you need and you could sell the other 60 with no problems....but I know I would keep them...lol...
Awesome video and idea, I am going to do this with mine asap...I also have to have all the colours!
Ordered the set of 80!!! Woo hoo - thanks for sharing!! 😃
:) :) :)
Wow thanks for clearing up the issue on the Fude colors. I didn't know that they are the exact same thing. TFS Pugs and kisses, d

I'm asking for this set for my Bday next month!
Oh how fun for your girls...they will love them! Thanks for the info!
Nice. Waiting for the postman to bring mine set of 60 :)

I'm sorry, I thought I might be able to help.
If you don't mind me asking... How much did they cost? I'd like to know so I can be on the look out for the lowest price.
They're linked in the description box.
oooo so jealous! look forward to watching you do great things with these.
I have the 12 pens set, but I hope to get a bigger one in the future when I used mine to their limit :)
I got that 80 set from Amazon for $99...so happy:)
Timing for this video couldn't of come at a better time as I'm still contemplating buying a set. Still ambivalent about what size lol
I'll be sure to hook up to your FB .
Tfs & take care 🌹
I know this is an old video but I have a question. Should I purchase the 80 color set if I already have the 48 set? Thank you for your time :)
I don't tell people what to do/buy - I bought the 80 after already having the 60 because I gave the 60 set to my oldest kids for them to use (and they loved them and use them often). I'm the type that needs to have all the color options available lol
really great storage tips! thanks for sharing!
Amy is there a list of the 20 colours that are in the 80 that is not in the 60 pack? Just to make my life easier when trying to order the ones I do not own. Thanks.
I have them listed in my blog post linked below the video :)
great tip Amy love it and I got the 60 set one too....
Great now I'm 20 markers short. Do you know what's not in the 60 set that's in the 80 set?
Omg tfs I was looking at those pens too wasn't sure I should buy them or not
Hi Amy. What paper works best for these markers?
Switch the caps of the 60 you already own and ONLY do the rest 20 swatches!! 😉
already said in the video that I'm swatching all the new ones so that my kids can use the original sets with the swatches as well b/c it's easier for them to see the colors too
Great mother !
I am bummed that i bought all of mine individually ( the extra 20 outside of my 60piece ) I wish I had the case to hold them all in
nice review thankyou! are these pens lightfast?
Do swatches on all 80 colors
Thanks!
the 80 is all of the colors that are available
What a nice mom! 😀
I saw your video when you posted it a year ago. I watched it again and thought the case you have for your old set was a good idea to purchase with the 80 count set. I have not yet purchased them but have a question? Does the case hold all the 80 markers ?
yes it does
Dear Amy, how about refilling, do we have to buy new pens when they run out?
there's no way to refill them so yes a new one would need to be purchased
I was just curious why you didn't store them with the bottom end showing because the color is already on them. Is it because you wanted to see the color with water and without?
If the pens are stored in the original case with the bottom end up, it is harder to get them out because of the cap shape
Oh. Thank you for letting me know that. :)
if you store the pens with the ends out in the X cube the tilt and slip out of the cube since the caps are thicker the pen. i did that for all of a day and every time i pulled one all the other fell out :( lol
For getting thee plastic wrap off the individually wrapped marker, twist the cap and the body of the marker in opposite directions until the plastic breaks and just pull off the plastic, easy easy!
now you tell me..lol.................60 pens later ....hahaha
I bought the 60 set several months ago and want to buy the other 20, but need to figure out which ones I don't have! I guess it's too much work for me to figure out which ones I need! Haha!
I have them listed in my blog post linked below the video :)
+Prairie Paper & Ink (AmyR) Thank you for letting me know!
Or you could store them upside down, not only have you got the colour, but the ink won't dry up fast
How will you differentiate your markers from their markers. They could get mixed together.
Their crafting stuff is in another area of the house
what watercolors is it that u use?
thank you for the review they look like they have thin brush I hope I just can't use the copic makers just can't stay in the lines of a small image Vicky:)) Texas
It is a very fine tip IF you use minimal pressure , they can color the tiniest little places that I find copics struggle with ....well worth the investment...I love mine
thank you so much for that because I struggle with small images and I love little girl images
in the difference set like the 80 and 24 are they all the same
the 80 set is all the colors..the 24, 48 and 60 sets just have some of these 80 colors...I've heard that the website tells you which colors are in each set.
Also, sometimes if you ask a seller if they will send it to you if you cover shipping (obviously depending on the item) then they may reconsider.
+Prairie Paper & Ink (AmyR) Thanks!
+Rachel V. Thanks.
Where did you get the fine tip for your Glossy Accents?
it's listed and linked in the description box :)
Did you take the lid off the empty bottle & just put it the glossy accents bottle?
yup!
I know this is an old video but I have a question about the Amazon link. When I search for the Zig markers on Amazon, it brings up the Kuretake markers as well as Zigs. Are they really the same? There's a huge price difference. Thanks!
I have a direct link to them in the description box below the video (first link in the supplies) and right now this 80 set is $105 on Amazon :)
Prairie Paper & Ink (AmyR) Awesome! Thank you so much!
Is there a way to know which are the extra 20 markers not included in the set of 60?
I have them listed in my blog post linked below the video :)
Thank you...very much appreciated! :)
ok, when u bought them, how much were they? now they are $126.
is it water color and marker in one
they are a pen that colors like a marker but you can choose to then use water to move the color like watercolor paints if you want to..the color in these pens will still be " moveable" once it dries so not good for items that may get damp or if you want to add layers without smudging what is underneath... heaps of fun in a small box :)
Hi, Could you not just put a layer of packing tape to 'laminate' the color onto the paper before you punch them?
that'd wear off not to mention more than likely buckle when being punched through - like I said I have no problem with how mine are and see no need for all the extra steps
Im crazy so im going to get the 80 pack xD
Swatched not switched. (Darn auto spell checker)

I have them for several months and I don't like them. They don't blend well.
don't give up on them...It really does depend on the paper / cardstock you use ..trying to blend on some brands/types of paper is horrendous !
+Jelena Loncarek what type of paper are you using them on? I find they blend beautifully on bristol or watercolor paper.
Asylum Lane, thanks for the tip. I will try some Bristol paper. I have Canson XL paper. Honestly I gave up on them too fast. Did not give them enough time to get used to. Not in my nature to give up, not sure why I didn't like them.
+Asylum Lane I use Neenah solar white cardstock and it doesn't work well with Zig markers
