Culver's is wonderful, and I hope they keep up the good work. I usually get a mushroom burger, or shrimp basket, but their onion rings are always a must! They have so many choices for soda, including a diet root beer, nice!

I recently ate at Culver's- I've never had such horrible Chicken Strips. I threw those away, ordered a burger. Cheese wasn't melted, bacon wasn't cooked, and who puts Red Onions on a hamburger ? When it came right down to it, the burger patty was over-cooked, and had a weird taste, like it had been boiled or something. Even McDonald's is a notch above Culvers.

We have Portillos here in Madison WI now. The first one opened several years ago. Their drive thru service is terrible, even when ordering on line ahead of time. Now I order on line and pick it up in their designated pick up parking spaces. This seems to work much better.

Biggest difference between Krystal and White Castle - White Castle tops their burgers with Ketchup - Krystal uses mustard. As a native northeasterner, I prefer Ketchup :) Whataburger will also top their burgers with mustard by default unless ketchup is specifically requested.

They have red beans and rice, flounder sandwiches, amazing potatoes and Cajun gravy, Cajun fries, Cajun rice, garlic rice, coleslaw, chicken fingers and more--- I mean GOOD! They also have a gluten free menu.

I don't like either place. I tried Portillos in Tempe AZ today for lunch. I didn't know what the term "Chicago-style hot dog" meant, but it was easy enough to take off a pickle, tomatoes, and a pepperoncini. But the beef sandwich, left me yearning for the much better Arby's Roast Beef Sandwich. Portillo's onion rings were good, but I won't be back.

I live in Ohio, so Skyline is a staple from the Central Ohio to the southern border. Residents in the Northeast (Cleveland) have never heard of Skyline or Cincinnati style chili. Culver, White Castle, Penn Station are prolific in the Columbus area, but what would you expect from one of the food test cities? Some of these other chains would be interesting to see how they do in Cbus

Culver's used to sell the BEST fried chicken, better than anything you'll ever get from Popeye's, KFC, or anywhere else. Freakishly huge pieces of chicken with flavor that was soaked right into the meat. Combined with a large order of french fries, and you were set for a fantastic meal.
It was just too good for this cruel, broken world.
