    Excellent demonstration and useful for certain repairs too. Thanks John for sharing.

    Thanks! What a great video. You make it look so easy but we all know that is because of your years of experience. I'm putting a LS3/525 hp in my 67 Corvette so I most probably will be doing this in my near future. I might want to do a 60s still flare but this probably would be better. Thanks again for such a fantastic video on this subject!!!!

    John great video I am doing a restomod with a modern LS which I think would require a wider tire than stock. Do you have any idea how much of a wider tire this allows for? I am a little scared to cut my panel but you sure make it look easy.

      Hi, Glad you liked the video, what type of frame are you using? stock or an aftermarket frame? , the rear panels were brought out 1 1/2 inches in center and that was measured from the stock frame, this car we are building will be getting an Art Morrison chassis which is narrower in the back to accommodate some big tires, so really it comes down to what your looking to achieve with the tire size, if using the stock frame you could bring the quarter panel out even further if you wanted, Hope this Helps, Thanks again for watching

    gonna be doing this soon to my 63 swc, any pics of it in primer?

      No actually the car is still in bare glass, it took over a year to get the Restomod chassis, I couldn’t finish all the glass work until body was mounted on chassis and I’m just fitting the doors , hood and deck lid now, Hopefully it will be in primer soon

      @@EYEBALLJOHNsKUSTOMKORNER Thanks for posting your videos, they are very informatative. I fully understand the long lead times for chassis. i ordered an Art Morrison chassis November of 2022, 14 months ago for a 62 corvette and still waiting. However, I have been told it is now about complete and should be receiving it within the next month. The lead time on some items is just crazy.

      Hi, Happy Holidays, I know I’ve been lacking putting up new videos, I’m running around working on 10 projects at once, I have some videos I’m editing now trying to make them look as professional as possible as far as video making is concerned, it’s a lot of work to one of these together, Hope to have some up soon, Thanks for checking in, John

    What did you use to strip the paint off? Nothing seems to get off ancient red nitrocellulose and primer sealers below the old lacquer.

    • @EYEBALLJOHNsKUSTOMKORNER
      @EYEBALLJOHNsKUSTOMKORNER  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I never liked using chemical strippers on fiberglass only on a metal cars, and the strippers they make now don’t compare to the stuff you could get years ago, depending on how thick the paint is I use the razor blade method, it’s tricky and if you don’t do it correctly you can do damage to the fiberglass, but if you get it right the paint comes off in sheets, then what ever is left I usually take 80 grit on a DA orbital sander and take it down to the glass

      @@EYEBALLJOHNsKUSTOMKORNER That would make a great video! Ive always used the awful stripper.

    Have you ever done a similar modification to the front fenders on a C2?

    • @EYEBALLJOHNsKUSTOMKORNER
      @EYEBALLJOHNsKUSTOMKORNER  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, yes I did the front fenders on this same car, I only brought them out 3/4 of an inch wider, I split the fendercat the bonding seam and opened them uo the same way as the back, I think I took pics of them being done ill have to look for them and post them, Thanks for watching

      @@EYEBALLJOHNsKUSTOMKORNER Thanks. I've been looking at getting all new fenders and quarters to widen the car but I'm good with glass and think you had great results. If you can put a tutorial up regarding the fronts, please do!

    Technically what you are doing is called a wide body not a flare. And I was hoping for an actual flare to be made on one of these C2's.

    • @EYEBALLJOHNsKUSTOMKORNER
      @EYEBALLJOHNsKUSTOMKORNER  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      True, you could say wide body flare, not many people these days want the old style flares that we were doing back in the 70's, but I will try and di a video of this style, Thanks for watching, John
