Oh Natalie, I have long admired your playing! I've played in church all of my life and I'm now 63. Though I learned to use the octave/chord fill-in for the left hand as a student, I had no idea there were so many other possibilities. While I can easily play your congregational arrangements, I find it hard to improvise on my own. I just don't know where to start.

This is amazing!!! Thank you so much!! I learned classical piano, took years of it, so gospel music is so hard for me. I’m used to playing what’s written and nothing else. This is so very helpful.

I have always heard of a rolled chord but no one ever took the time to teach me how to do it. It so easy with your video. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Have Thine Own Way was the first song I ever chorded as a child but it never sounded so good as today.

I sure wished I had seen this video YEARS ago when I was learning how to play. I have always wondered how the pianist came up with "unwritten" notes.

I learned to play hymns by octaves/block chords but didn't know about the rolling chords so can't wait to try it. I found your Fanny Crosby hymns videos and enjoyed listening to them this week and look forward to hearing some of the others. Added you to my subscriptions.

Thank you! I am usually stuck on playing chords so tightly and need to practice opening up the inversions more. I am going to practice with this hymn since it’s slower and also uses flats that I need to practice more. Those black keys always get me lol ❤️❤️
How do you recognize the chords in a hymnal so quickly? That’s my biggest struggle for sight reading hymns.

Can you write congregational sheet music for A mighty fortress is my God? I struggle playing this one because of chord changes frequently and the 4/4 time signature. I enjoy D major most for the key- as this is a favorite key for violinists and I play with violinists a lot, many of them beginners and they don't know their flats yet. If any of you don't know, I play violin as well as piano and violin key signature favorites are D major, then G major, and then probably A major. They prefer sharps over flats because it is the way the fingers lay out on the fingerboard. It takes awhile for violinists to learn flats, way longer than piano players. I would love to purchase this arrangement if you make one.

Sorry for all the personal comments because I'm way too old to learn to play. Anyhow your hair looks great today, and you know exactly how much eye shadow to use. As I've suggested before, a little humming or sotto voce singing would be a great addition. Today is Wed. Feb. 24, 2021 here too.
