I recently gone through a limerence episode, it literally felt like emotional rollercoaster and tsunami. I am feeling much better now as gone the no contact. I don’t know her well and I just know if it goes down this path, things could go very wrong. I now have the opportunity to understand and learn what I was going through thanks for the videos/chanels like yours. Putting things into perspective helps to manage a lot and avoiding mistakes that we may regret for long time. With that being said, still it was hard to manage, lack of focus, sleep, anxious, intrusive thoughts etc.

Thank you so much for your video. Everything you explained was very painful and brought me right back to the dark chapter of my life, but this has been hands down the most accurate description of what I endured and why. As the spouse of a limerant, I will probably never recover from this betrayal, but at least I don't have to guess anymore as to why it happened the way it happened.

@@thewrongshoes I know i'm in this situation at the moment. but i know also you can love two or more people at the same time . The problem is that none polyamoureus people can't understand you can love two or more people at a same level. I'm not talking about open marriages where you can have multiple sex partners. Sex isn't the same as love.

He just walked out on us in mid-August. Started seeing this person mid-September (or before-who knows) They “broke up,” in February, She is visibly pregnant in July, I caught them on a midnight stroll, he says just as friends. But that was how I want to be with him, how crushing. Too much to handle, but God. I am trying to keep from falling apart. I see why people fall into depression, drown themselves with drugs or alcohol- I feel like quitting my job, running away. I am so confused. What happens when the LO gets pregnant? How do I hang on?

Hi Marriage Helper... great video. Reminds me of my situation. Wife has decided to leave me (wants a divorce) after 16 years and two kids with special needs/autism. She brought it out after I discovered two months ago an emotional affair she was and still is having for a few months as what she told me. Other man does not even live in the state and talk/text only on phone. I mean about 3000-4000 minutes & 10 calls a day and 3000 texts a month. Most are her to him when I am not around. We Just sold our home, she just got her own apartment and we are moving out in a month. I know/understand that I had part of the break up and had to change some stuff. Been working on myself. I also understand the affair was not my fault. Her choice. But she never directly came to me talk about things. Any thoughts or advice? Limerence?

I support your comment and I can validate your theory. The emotional train and the force behind the feelings are centered around a point of attraction or attention so yes vacate yourself from the source which leaves you to confront the emotional strings 1 by 1. These I found out not as easy without help. I found these videos well after it was too late because I search other sources for clarity and help. Useless really. Even now my limerent other comes to mind but without the energy in motion it once did. Am I getting through this in a healthy way? one day at a time, yes. One step one breath one decision at a time. Give yourself a break, be kind to yourself. It's ok. Your ok

8:35 - That's very American of you Dr. Joe. Having been in limerence yourself and a bad situation at that as you have stated did it ever cross your mind that being compassionate and understanding with this young girl could have been an option?

I only wish my wife left me for her other man limerence partner, unfortunately the other man dumped her when I found out and I would have gladly let him have her & take over the mortgage payments.
