thank you for breaking it down, i got over 500 movies so glad i can used the cube for that.
I am on my 2nd Fire TV cube 3rd generation and with both the sound always cuts out and I have to restart it several times in a week for the sound to come back and recently the picture gets a green tint to it and has to be restarted to have a normal picture again. I retired it 3 days before December 2024 was over and went out and got myself an Apple TV and loaded it with most of the apps I had on my Fire Cube. I really like the Apple TV box way better. But I am hanging onto my Fire Cube for future use maybe. Your video was very good and informative.

Hi Dell, excellent video. Have you or anyone watching tried connecting a Dolby digital signal into the fire Cube 3 HDMI input and discovered that it will only pass through a stereo PCM signal? I spoke with Amazon support over a month ago about this and still no response from there customer support or complaints department. I’m really disappointed in the contempt and lack of respect that Amazon have for their customers. Just unbelievable and unacceptable. If anyone has the same issues. Please reply. Thanks Tim.
I have a new Sony Bravia XR ,it only has one HDMI Arc input and the sound is only from the TV speakers or the sound bar speakers.
I just purchased a Fire tv gen3 cube in hopes of streaming music through my stereo amplifier with all the speakers connected to it.
What would be the best way to connect the Cube to the stereo amplifier ?
I’m still trying to connect my stereo amplifier to the Cube . Can it be connected by the HDMI in port ?

I have a Sony projector, pioneer sc-75 receiver and a directv box.
When I connect directv to cube input, do I connect cube output to my receiver?
Or to the projector?
I’m assuming it’s to the receiver.

for the USB media player will it play all the videos in the folder, like if you are watching a series will it just keep playing the next video or do you have to grab the remote to play the next file ?

I went in to hawk and not long ago bought a '21 Sony A80J OLED and it's OS is Google TV so I no longer have my N. Shield connected up......But what do you think about adding one of these NEW Cubes' to my OLED? TKS
How do you add media to the hard drive? Don't you have to disconnect the drive and take it to a computer each time you want to add something?
Hi. I'm trying to record shows on my IPTV service. Using a thumb drive plugged in to the USB port on the cube 3 I just cannot get it to work. Do I need to do something with ADB?. Any suggestions would be much appreciated
Is there a limit to the drive size the USB port will accept? Can I us a 6 TB drive for example?

Not a server if it does not "serve" media to other devices. It just plays attached media.
You actually only have to hit that button five times for the developer menu to come up. I’ve been dealing with android operating systems for 14 years. I used to hack into phones and stuff while jailbreak them and root them and everything.
Is it best to use Wi-Fi or ethernet connection. Is the noise level more or less with Wi-Fi or is it better with the ethernet?.
Always better to use a hard wired Ethernet connection if possible.

It's not a server, you are just playing back videos stored on a USB stick, you can do that on virtually anything these days.

If you want a media server, connect your hard drives to an old router then access the files from anywhere on the network. Point Nova Player to the drive(s) and you have a good home media server solution.
I know but for people who aren't tech savy this is a way to go

I hear a lot of people complaining that it's only a 100 Mbps either net port. Netflix, prime video and Disney Plus all say you need at least 25 Mbps for 4k video and for 99% of the people that might buy this 100 Mbps is plenty fast myself included. Also when the 2022 apple tv 4k comes out it'll beat this in every way. Price and spec wise. Heck Amazon can't even give you the voice remote pro with their high-end device. Roku gives you their voice remote pro with the Roku ultra and it's only $99. Please do a comparison of the fire cube 3rd gen and 2022 Roku ultra
