      ST. LEONARD OF PORT MAURICE
Saint Vincent Ferrer relates that an archdeacon in Lyons gave up his charge and retreated into a desert place to do penance, and that he died the same day and hour as Saint Bernard. After his death, he appeared to his bishop and said to him, "Know, Monsignor, that at the very hour I passed away, thirty-three thousand people also died. Out of this number, Bernard and myself went up to heaven without delay, three went to purgatory, and all the others fell into Hell

Purgatory is as scriptural as is described in many of Jesus’ parables, such as the person who won’t get out until he pays the last penny. The church Jesus founded and promised
“Whatever you bind on earth, will be bound in heaven” has taught purgatory for over 2000 years!🙏✝️🕊️

That is why I always include the souls of people who died by suicide.
Depression is an illness that people who are afflicted of this disease have no control of their very low self worth and thoughts of dying.
I believe that there is hope for them. God’s mercy is infinite. He told Sr. Faustian that is unfathomable.
Let us also pray for those souls.

I cry tears of sadness because of my sins and the sins of others. I cried in front of the Tabernacle tonight after confession because I know how mcuh I hurt God. What comforts me in my sadness is uniting myself to the souls in purgatory. Offering up my pain and suffering for them, asking God to release them from their dire torments into His sweet embrace. And, I humbly ask for more pain and suffering for penance for my sins and the sins of others to help save souls, but only if it is His will. Christ is all and in all! God Bless you and your family.

@carlvaz There's no purgatory as scripture says He will change us in a twinkling of an eye:
1 Cor 15:51-53 KJV Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Yes, we need to lay down sin in this life, with the help of the Holy Spirit, but He will complete the work.
1 Pe 5:10 KJV But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

I encourage everyone to pray The Novena and Chaplet of Divine Mercy, which our Lord gave to St. Maria Faustina, especially during holy hour, in supplication for the poor souls in purgatory since they cannot pray for themselves! We must help one another along this long journey home, so that we will all win heaven! 🙏🏻💕

The Bible clearly tells us: “For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5) A person who has died cannot feel anything and therefore cannot be cleansed by any fire of purgatory. And the Bible explains that there’s no punishment after a person dies. Death is the full and complete punishment for sin!
Romans 6:7: “For the one who has died has been acquitted from his sin.”
The Bible doesn’t contain the word purgatory nor does it teach that souls of those who have died are purified in purgatory. “For the wages sin pays is death.” (Romans 6:23)

Matthew 5:22 But I say to you that every one who is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother shall be liable to the council, and whoever says, “You fool!” shall be liable to the hell of fire.
It is only the third sort of offense which is punished with hell; therefore in the judgment of God after this life there are other pains which are not eternal or infernal - these are the pains of Purgatory.
Matthew 5:26 Truly, I say to you, you will never get out till you have paid the last penny.
The “prison” alluded to is purgatory while the “penny” represents the most minor sins that one commits.
Matthew 12:32 And whoever says a word against the Son of man will be forgiven; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
If this sin cannot be forgiven after death, it follows that there are others which can be, and this must be in purgatory.
1 Corinthians 3:11-15 For no other foundation can any one lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any one builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw - each man's work will become manifest; for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work which any man has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.
This is a clear and obvious allusion to purgatory.
      Lk 12:42-48
The Lord answered, “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their food allowance at the proper time? It will be good for that servant whom the master finds doing so when he returns. Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. But suppose the servant says to himself, ‘My master is taking a long time in coming,’ and he then begins to beat the other servants, both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk. The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers.
“The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.
      This is self explained...
So much evidence for purgatory, and the age old argument, ''but purgatory isn't mentioned in the Bible'', is weak. The word ''Trinity'' is nowhere to be found but we conclude it from the texts. You can call purgatory a cleanatory, a holy shower, a holy fire, a cleansing fire if you want, it doesn't take away from the fact that it exists and is found, as I have shown, in a lot of verses in the Bible.

Many thanks for sharing these points. I wonder...If the "flames" of purgatory are more than the compensatory suffering demanded by Divine justice, and if the result is purification, I would love to know more about what IS this purification. How does it work? What does it purify? I have some doubt however, because I never hear anything about healing after death. Much of what is ugly in human beings is the result of childhood emotional trauma. The bad behavior that stems from these types of trauma based mind states must be at least in part forgivable. How does God's mercy work with that in purgatory, or does that happen somewhere else? There is a deeper discussion to be had here.

The Bible does not contain the word “purgatory” nor does it teach that the souls of those who have died are purified in purgatory!
      1) Faith in the blood of Jesus, NOT time in a so-called purgatory purifies a person from sin. (1 John 1:7) Jesus gave “his life as a ransom for many” to pay for their sins. (Matthew 20:28)
      2) People who have died are unconscious! (Ecclesiastes 9:5) A person who has died cannot feel anything and therefore cannot be cleansed by any fire of purgatory.
      3) There is no punishment for sins after a person dies. Death is the full and complete punishment for sin. (Romans 6:7,23)

I am looking for people to please take a moment and pray with me for Souls in Purgatory. Can you help?
According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory:
    Eternal Father,
I offer You the most precious blood
    of thy Divine Son, Jesus,
in union with the Masses said
    throughout the world today,
for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory,
    for sinners everywhere,
for sinners in the universal Church,
for those in my own home,
    and in my family. Amen.
In her account of another vision, St. Faustina describes Purgatory as a "great crowd of suffering souls" undergoing purification. Further, she says that the souls are "praying fervently, but to no avail, for themselves; only we can come to their aid" (Diary, 20)

Hi Ken, Sorry to be a skeptic, but, how could St Catherine possibly know about what happens in purgatory? Was she divinely inspired? Did she have some sort of apparition? Has her book on purgatory been thoroughly read and approved by the Vatican? God bless you and your family. I appreciate your weekly presentations.

@@joanstewart5109A mystic is a person who seeks a deeper understanding of spiritual truths and experiences through direct personal connection with a divine or ultimate reality. Mysticism often involves practices such as meditation, contemplation, prayer, and other methods to experience a sense of unity or oneness with the divine. Mystics may also seek transcendent or ecstatic experiences beyond the limitations of ordinary perception or consciousness. They may belong to various religious or spiritual traditions, but mysticism itself is not limited to any specific belief system. Mystics often aim to cultivate wisdom, intuition, and a deeper connection to the divine in order to attain spiritual enlightenment or transformation.

The unanswered question I have never found... DEFINE WHAT is the suffering? If the 2nd Purgatory example you said... "she would not experience pain", ... Does that mean Purgatory is physically painful? Is it emotionally painful? What does this fire do & HOW does it burn the soul? Is there indeed a physical pain? I just cannot find anyone to describe what this pain & suffering is that we will experience. Can you??

Means the absence of God and seperation from the Almighty. A world of darkness as Jesus is the light. You would never want to be isolated from the love of God.in Hell you are separated from God so no light only darkness. Always have in your heart the holy fear of God. It will save us

In the Christian Bible published by Martin Luther in 1522 there is no Purgatory. The link provided refers to the Catholic Bible published in 1610. If one believes in a perfect all knowing God, the idea that God does not know if a person deserves to enter Heaven upon their death is laughable. The idea that people can pray for someone’s soul after their death and give money to the Catholic Church to say masses to get loved ones out of purgatory is quite the thing. God doesn’t need to punish people after their death or torch them or make them endure suffering. That is not what a loving God does or what he promised believers. Purgatory was invented by the Catholic Church to keep people in fear so they keep contributing to the Wealthiest organization on the planet. It is very effective. No organization holds title to more real estate than the Catholic Church. Why is that, and how did that come to pass?

@@larrybarela8676It is a Catholic thing. Catholics don’t believe in Jesus’s teachings where he stated the facts very clearly in John 3:16. No mention of suffering in a place called Purgatory.

@@dreamcreator2552In Matthew 12:32, Jesus says: “And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but he that shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, nor in the next.”
Note, “it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, nor in the next.”
This verse shows that some sins are possibly forgiven in the afterlife.
      Can't be in Heaven.
Because Revelation 21:27 tells us, Nothing impure will ever enter it,
So we know it can't be Heaven cause nothing impure can enter.
      It can't be Hell either.
      Because Matthew 25:46 tells us
"And these will go away into eternal punishment,
So we know it can't be Hell because that punishment is eternal.
If purgatory does not exist, what could Christ be talking about? Hmm?
