Reviewing his track record, I agree - very skeptical he has the fortitude to hold criminals accountable. How is he even going to catch the criminals we know are raiding the Treasury for CARES Act benefits - how you going to catch them Kevin if you're not funding the Treasury Department to even enforce the law? One criminal in particular from the swamp needs serious consideration from his side, and not blowing it off for political ease. Very low expectations.

Does everyone realize how much money we could save if they stopped paying the salary and medical bills of people after they leave office. Before the vote for the gavel, each political faction meets behind closed doors to decide their leaders before nominations and votes. Pelosi said she was stepping down, retiring. You don’t retire from being Speaker of the House, you retire from the leadership position. That said, Hakeem Jefferies took the leadership of the House Democrats, every Speakership vote that transfers the gavel results in a speech and the losing party’s leader to symbolically hand it over to the next elected Speaker

It's not a circumvention. When people vote present it's treated as if they were absent. There was 434 there which you correctly state to mean that 218 votes are needed normally, but if 6 vote present it's basically as if only 428 people are there, which requires only 215 votes. The present vote doesn't have any sort of weird superpowers
Bending rules is definitely the wrong way to characterize the process .... I get it but when we take multiple choice question tests, for instance, if you don't choose ANY option pertaining directly to the Question, the answer is automatically wrong. Of course, when we deal with human character, the likes of which we can't presently avoid ..... I guess "Present" is the best viable option afterall.
