Using 2 coat of paints makes some details disappear, like the gas tank. What will you do about that........ I don't know...... Whoppss!!!........ Whoopsee!!! XD
You're the only channel that I don't feel the need to speed up the videos to 1.5x. Yours don't drag on, I'm always genuinely engaged and entertained by your work. Truly amazing stuff, great job.
Agreed on all counts. I'm tolerant of production standards that are "less than", since it's really about the castings, but I so appreciate the shows where the standards are "greater than" ... like this one!
Especially when some TH-camrs have a 30-45 sec intro. I totally cleaned house on my subscriptions. Only people that are informative, funny and intelligent(without being a smart ass) are my TH-camrs of choice. Thanks.
I have to say that I really like the way it looks in the opening sequence. Sitting on that circular platform with its worn look gives it a lot of charm. I wouldn't change a thing.
i I kinda agree with you because when you restore it you essentially make a new car and you can’t even tell it’s old. so I would want to keep it all original.
Being a Hot Wheels guy (kid), I wasn't very happy when you started working on Matchbox cars. Well, between you and Marty, you have won me over and I am now enjoying this quite a bit. This was an amazing restoration considering what you started with. Keep up the good work!
Always impressive to see you restore these things, but this one kinda blew me away. The clever use of plating in multiple stages, and to get something that looks that good from what you started with; Deeply deeply impressive, sir. Thanks for sharing the techniques also!
Wow the truck looks so good and thank you for mentioning how many coats of paint you used and it’s incredible the amount of new techniques that you use and experiment with have a great day.
Looks great bud! You did an amazing job! This is like one of those veterinary videos where the animal comes in all raggedy and leaves happy and healthy! Night and day difference
This was the first Matchbox I had as a kid. There's something therapeutic about watching one being restored to it's original glory with such detail. Kudos.
My dad has one of these that's in almost mint condition. As a teen, it's very cool to see something from such a foreign time be resurrected to it's former glory. Thank you for doing such awesome work. It is very inspiring.
I had one of these as a boy. I had a friend with leukemia who I let play with it whenever I got to see him. It was his favorite of my cars. When he died I couldn’t look at it. This gave me a fond memory of Mathew Tucker. Thank you.
Quite happy with your restoration. Now that you have branched out into more vintage Lesneys I have you, Marty and Time Rider to thank for keeping my old memories alive and shiny. Thank you!
By reading the title wrong, I thought you were restoring a Matchbox with 70-grit sand paper. You did a immaculate job with the Truck. Thanks for making all these relaxing videos for years, and for teaching me about he art of restoring cars such as this one.
One of my favourite restorations yet. Good too see the soldering method to fix the metal. Pleased how well just an extra layer of paint worked at covering the pitting. Great job.
Your videos are like therapy. One of the main reason why i subs to your channel is probably because of your voice, beside the awesome restoration work of course.
I’m lost for words. Incredible transformation! I know from message boards that some restorers ask about soldering and why it doesn’t work. Your method to first plate the part in copper solves that issue. Then zinc plating it and polishing restores the shiny silvery finish. I have quite a few of these models to restore and while some have intact sliding panels, several are damaged. I considered resin casting (my current method in making replacement parts) but sheet brass, plated, is something I will be looking into. It is a superb transfigurement of a model ravaged by time and oxidation.
I usually mod PCs and don't care about smaller things like toy cars but I learned a lot about them and learned a lot of techniques watching your videos. I was also able to restore one of my childhood toy cars so it will be loved for several more years. love ya m8 !!
I had one of these, the dull yellow body.....i miss it. I think about it and where it went every once in a while. Cool to see this being restored to such nice shape.
Totally like the idea of copper plating then first prior to soldering the axle pad then zinc plating to conform to the original colour base. Learned something new today. Thank you.
I think it looks great. I used to collect when I was a kid. All gone now though. I think its awsome that someone is willing to save these little toys that brought us all hours of imagination and fun. Good work. That's a rather rare talent.
Great result! This piece really showcased the range and versatility of your restoration techniques. The decrepit truck had a gritty, realistic aesthetic about it. It almost looked like a deliberately weathered custom.
This wasn't the roughest looking diecast I have see you restore. However, I didnt think it was going to look as great as it did with all that pitting. Your level of workmanship always amazes me!!
You are an artist when it comes to diecast restoration, sir. Very nice! I'm glad you found a way to solder the bodies! That's gonna come in handy for customs & soldering in replacement door pillars & such! I'm almost ready to fix my mancave so I can start setting up for doing some of my own cars. Thank you for all of the awesome tech you share! And I'm loving the added diorama on the display table!
That press is genius! I am so happy I ran across your channel. I collected small cars since I can remember and took very good care of them. Lost them all in '04 baut at that time had well over 7,000 different cars. Thanks for the memories! Love your work!
I find these videos hypnotizing and very soothing. Really like the work. It is a kind of restoration process on many levels. Alo love the before and after shots. Great work.
To say how bad that was when you got it, that is an excellent job, and replacing the slider for the hopper with a piece of brass, brilliant. looking forward to futre videos from you
Whoa, I never thought about using solder as a fixer. I worked as a solderer for years. Repairing motherboards, soldering 64 and 128 leg chips. Ugh those were a PAIN IN THE @$$!! But I can see that being used for a lot of applications. Thanks one more time.
Super easy! Barely an inconvenience... Things that are super easy, barely an inconvenience are tight!
Using 2 coat of paints makes some details disappear, like the gas tank. What will you do about that........
I don't know......
Whoppss!!!........
Whoopsee!!!
XD
That was an awesome reference....haha!
pitch meeting references ARE TIGHT!
Ya Ya Ya.
OOPSIE!
After this restoration, I think you've earned the title of Baremetal Alchemist.
omg thats genius. loved that series take my like
Or at least change your name to AL.

The fact that it has the spreading feature is so cool. I love these old matchboxes with working features
That trunk takes me back. Great job.
Talk about a transformation, that was a great job. You really brought that truck back to life. Looking forward to your next video.
What a difference. That truck will go for another 50 years. Fab video.
I don't own any toy cars but I'll be damned if I don't watch every one of these videos lol.
Same
Ditto
What kind of man doesnt own toy cars?...
@@iamelvisman68 A grown up man who is comfortable with the point he reached in his life and doesn't feel the need to relive his childhood?

Looks good. I enjoy these restoration videos of childhood past times.
The transformation here is phenomenal!
Awesome job! Looks really good and you were the perfect guy for the job.
Thank you for all the tips and ideas! Another fine restore.
Always love the solutions you come up with.

Fucking nerd
Excellent restoration. Love the metal slider part. Looks like a rear bumper
Fabulous job with great attention to detail.
Very cool, the dirt road rotating display is such a great detail.
Beautiful restoration!
Beautiful result, love you show the car on your diorama. Thank you for sharing your amazing story. God bless you and your family.
Always impressive to see you restore these things, but this one kinda blew me away. The clever use of plating in multiple stages, and to get something that looks that good from what you started with; Deeply deeply impressive, sir. Thanks for sharing the techniques also!
Well done. love the new bases
Wow the truck looks so good and thank you for mentioning how many coats of paint you used and it’s incredible the amount of new techniques that you use and experiment with have a great day.
Looks fantastic - good job as always.
Looks great bud! You did an amazing job! This is like one of those veterinary videos where the animal comes in all raggedy and leaves happy and healthy! Night and day difference
Beautiful job. Amazing how good they look with a bit of effort
Looks great. As does everything you restore.

I’m laying in bed at 3:30 in the morning watching a guy restore a toy truck.
Now begins the streak of watching toy car restoration videos
I gotta tell you, Im a retired plumber, and an amateur furniture maker. For a chemist, you are a heck of a craftsman!
Wonderful job restoring the truck, great video.
Great video to wake up to, it came out great job well done.🙂🙂
Beautiful!!! I love this restoration!!
Awesome job as usual. I am new to the restoration part and you are a real inspiration. Keep up the great work!!
Nice restoration, looks perfect. I enjoy the upload, thanks 👍
The circular display stand with the grass and shrubs is outstanding! The truck is great too!
I thought it looked like a lost cause from the beginning but the master of matchbox restorations came in and made it look brand new
By reading the title wrong, I thought you were restoring a Matchbox with 70-grit sand paper.
You did a immaculate job with the Truck. Thanks for making all these relaxing videos for years, and for teaching me about he art of restoring cars such as this one.
This truck was one of my favorites as a kid. It looks great, well done.
Truly an awesome job. This car had every issue a toy car could have. You dealt with all of them. 👍
Great video. I am looking very much forward to the"soldering" video! Thanks so much for sharing your skills.
One of my favourite restorations yet. Good too see the soldering method to fix the metal. Pleased how well just an extra layer of paint worked at covering the pitting. Great job.
Always amazed. I should go look in my childhood sandbox and see what trucks I can uncover. Thanks again for bringing these vehicles back to life.
Ridiculously awesome restoration.
at first glance, it looks like a customized truck for a diorama.
Possibly the best restoration on TH-cam, thanks for help and tips on restoration
Your videos are like therapy. One of the main reason why i subs to your channel is probably because of your voice, beside the awesome restoration work of course.
Gorgeous !
I'm just fascinated by these restorations. Really nice the way it came out.
I’m lost for words. Incredible transformation!

This turned out amazing! I'm sure the customer will appreciate it!
Stunning restoration , looks great from a truck that was buried 30-40 years ago
Another one back to near mint condition. Looks great! Those new techniques really paid off.
That truck was dead and you brought it back to life. Incredible
If you can salvage that poor thing, I guess it’s fair to say that you’ve mastered the craft of diecast restoration. Congratulations!
I had one of these, the dull yellow body.....i miss it. I think about it and where it went every once in a while.
Cool to see this being restored to such nice shape.
I gotta say, for a car that was buried for 35 years you did a great job restoring it.
Reason for watching this channel..1.Love diecast/metal small cars. 2.Love watching the process. So Relaxing
Totally like the idea of copper plating then first prior to soldering the axle pad then zinc plating to conform to the original colour base. Learned something new today. Thank you.

Absolute fantastic job. 10/10 as always!
Wow! I'm sure the owner will be happy to see it going from what it was to what it now is!
Beautiful restoration I love these crazy back stories some of the cars have then watching them get restored beautifully is amazing
I had a couple of these as a kid and this one looks like it just came out of the box. Great job on restoring it!
the story behind that truck is really cool! Turned out really well, considering the fact that it was buried in the 70s..
I remember this Ford from my youth. It was known as a Thames Trader. Great restore, well done.
I have 12 of these matchbox 70s and never knew that the slide was there until I watched your video. Naturally I checked mine and was delighted 😉
Great result! This piece really showcased the range and versatility of your restoration techniques.
The decrepit truck had a gritty, realistic aesthetic about it. It almost looked like a deliberately weathered custom.
I love the before and after shots on this one. Boy was it a disaster before hand. I remember having this truck as a kid,
I had one of these when I was a kid! Great memories!
You put a lot of love and care into this truck and it shows
This wasn't the roughest looking diecast I have see you restore. However, I didnt think it was going to look as great as it did with all that pitting. Your level of workmanship always amazes me!!

Perfection. Love it!

Nice resto, the windows are impressive.

Holy moley!!! That is an incredible restore. Nice job!! Brilliant work-around to plate in copper for soldering 👍👍 Thanks for sharing, happy day!
great outcome. took a lot of work, but IMO, worth it.
Man, that was a very very good job. Thank you.
Should call that truck Lazarus, you brought it back from the dead! Amazing
That turned out phenomenally nice. I just got one of these castings yesterday. Thanks for another excellent video.
Nice Workopolis! Look like New for me 😁
I love watching these restorations.
One of your best. Your Filmography, timming, lights, lenses, focus, etc., slaughters the others. Well it is what it is!
I find these videos hypnotizing and very soothing. Really like the work. It is a kind of restoration process on many levels. Alo love the before and after shots. Great work.
Nice work -- I always appreciate your innovations!
The truck came out really nice. I love the little diaramas you made.
Holy red line that window finish always makes me feel good
Wow! that was a pitted mess. Another excellent restoration.
To say how bad that was when you got it, that is an excellent job, and replacing the slider for the hopper with a piece of brass, brilliant. looking forward to futre videos from you
