Mercedes was the first one to introduce these lighting, just like they were the first one in 2001 to add light the turn signals ( exterior mirrors... ) some people may find it extra but I like that. Especially at night. Keeps you up, especially on long roadtrips. It makes you feel live. My 2014 e class as about the same lighting setting. The S class version is wayyy cooler.

Robert Gray oh cool I never thought of that! I turned the TV off so everything was quite so I could hear how quiet the car is. I watched this during the day but you still get the feel of how beautiful the ambiance must be. Stunning lighting hey?

I connected a Bluetooth sound bar and placed it right behind me, watched the video in complete darkness on an OLED monitor. Surreal experience. I can only imagine how it would be in real life.

Finally, someone attaches a camera to his cab rather than having a camera attached to the dashboard facing the driver's face.!!! I finally appreciated and enjoyed the driving of this supercar!
The majority of car's reviews they attach a camera to the dashboard facing the driver instead of showing us what it is like to actually drive the car.!!! they need to understand that this is the only way we can enjoy the car's features at its best.!

24/7 always on. If you drive by day through a tunnel, it is immediately a full atmosphere change. If you drive by night, it is just amazing. But to be honest, I love Bentley (see my profilpicture..I was luckily inside the new Bentley) and many other brands, but Mercedes is the only one who makes nearly 2cm thick beautiful light-stripes without seeing any strips of the ambient-light. It is perfectly covered under the material. And its with curves, not straight (boring) lines. Just have a look on some E or S-Class pictures and videos.
Brands like Porsche, Audi, Bmw and Bentley...you can see the strips and the ambientlight is very thin. Nevertheless, thanks to Dieter Zetsche, who made this idea with the ambientlight 5 years ago with the new s-class possible.
