I want something that will charge up, whenever the sun is shining on it, and will hurt the chassis of a fodder wagon when the wagon drives over it (very likely in Northern UK). I want a solar powered, perhaps pedal assisted, scorpion. Eight mile round trips on hilly roads. Please, human race, bring it to me!!
None of them are long life. Look at how many issues they have. Body cracks, wheels coming off when riding. Tiny thin wheels on a heavy bike, doesn't work. These trikes must get motorcycle wheels or scooter wheels. And they must be fixed on forks. Not as a side wheel. Side wheels are failing off and you get broken axles every 2-3 years or earlier if you jump into holes

It would be great to have companies renting those out in cities. I think it could help many people ditch the car and just rent those cargo bikes when they have more to carry. That could result in a lot of savings when not having a car.
As soon as they get too big they get a bit unrealistic. The Elf trike and Bio 4 wheel trike can take two people but are much smaller. They have to be Bike lane friendly.
And if there are no bike lanes? What if we live, as many of us do, beside roads that have no provision made for anything other than the motorists who have taken ownership (I don't know how this was allowed to happen - the roads were there long before internal combustion engines)?
And get no weather protection, impact protection, solar power, room for a passenger or high visibility with full lighting. These things have cargo capacity over 500 pounds.
All these comments saying “I could buy a car for that!” Sure, then you can insure it, fuel it, and probably sink about a grand of general maintenance and repairs into it a year if you’re enough of a cheapskate to only spend five grand on a car. You don’t get reliability or efficiency for $5,000.
I got rid of my car 6 years ago and started using the similar ELF for all transportation. It has saved me $18,000 so far. Cars cost far more to own and operate, no comparison. The purchase price is your way in to a life with no car expenses.

I'd love to see how this compares to the ELF and PEBL. Both are more expensive but been on the market longer (at least 7 years for the ELF.)
The ELF had a short introductory price of 4K and increased to 9K. The PEBL starts at 12k but was just outsourced to Germany.
