Yeah, not only the body count is high, but I love that like Star Wars, they have a battle in the end; Like not a raid or a skirmish or a simple brawl like at the end of Beauty and the Beast, no, it's a full militarized one side vs another side battle; like the one that you say "Battle of" Battle of Naboo, Battle of Geonosis, Battle of Coruscant, Battle of Yavin, Battle of Hoth, Battle of Endor, Battle of Zion (Matrix), Battle of Hogwarts, Battle of New York (Avengers), Battle of Chicago (Transformers) . . . The Battle of Atlantis . . . "Candle shrine is a little bit creepy . . ." It's his Paternal Grandfather, his father's father. My dog has lost 23 lbs since her pancreatitis and is healing very well. Her name is Noel and I love her very dearly. She’s 13 years old and doesn’t have any grey hair yet, and is still chasing cats and squirrels. My other dog Scout has recently given up his hobby of running headfirst into oncoming traffic. He’s been doing it since he was a young adult dog, and we think he may die soon, but luckily he’s found out that the bricks of our new fireplace are warm, and sleeps on them whenever he’s not trying to break into our refrigerator. Noel is an ex-fat snowflake and Scout is a cockroach gremlin who just can’t seem to be killed.

No, Atlantis is far more underrated. At least Treasure Planet gets decent reviews, Atlantis is sitting at like a 40% on rotten tomatoes despite less interesting and well put together films getting higher scores. I love both and prefer Treasure Planet but I think Atlantis is less popular and fondly looked at.
i’d personally also add The Hunchback Of Notre Dame, idk if it’s generally true or not but when i bring it up when discussing disney with people sooo many don’t know it- once a girl i knew had a disney costume party for her 18th, most people went as “modern” versions, i went as modern Esmerelda and like no one had a clue as to who I was, not even the girl throwing the party who was that typical disney princess obsessed fan (tattoos of some disney stuff and all)

22:16 Actually, they say there was nothing living. Just statues, gold, and ruins. The reason they're rich is a) the gold, and b) finding Atlantis, but the reason nobody else is going is because c) almost everyone died and d) the place has already been "looted" by the original team
@@whatthehellisthis Probably... but, they could do the *Treasure Planet* sequel that was planned but was never completed. But keep it 2-D animated. Retro, just like the film's aesthetic.
Live action remakes need to stop being a thing. The charm of the film comes from it being conceived in a unique and breathtaking art style. Making things live action doesn't add anything, only takes away, and they NEVER turn out well. I just don't understand why people enjoy watching something they loved but with the soul sucked out of it?
Fun fact: the character Milo Thatcher was actually based on another popular character named Dr. Daniel Jackson from the Stargate franchise. Who literally has the same appearance and also has a similar personality.

The cast, the animation, the freaking music omg, the music just gives me chills, and the action sequences are just awesome in my opinion!!!! Also RIP LEONARD NIMOY who played Kidas Father!!!!
My theory about why Rourke took the page is that they found the book with Milo’s grandfather, who was also able to read the book, and thus Milo’s grandpa told him about the contents and perhaps he then took the page in secret.
I am so glad to see more people appreciating this movie, it’s got such a cool and unique vibe for a Disney movie and I just love the dialogue and character animation
One of my favorite movies growing up. Still holds up pretty well, you can also tell Disney put a lot of soul into this. It's like a love letter to classic pulp sci fi like Jules Verne or hg wells.
1:50 From what I can gather, the king of Atlantis used the heart crystal to make a weapon of unspeakable power - what we see at the start of the film is, in my eyes, a test fire. Except it's a test fire not unlike Castle Bravo, where the weapon turns out to be spectacularly more powerful than intended, made even worse because it's quite close to the city proper.
This movie is just gorgeous. A lot of the scenes just show the amount of work the animators put into bringing them to life. I remembered being just awe-struck during the scene when Kida got absorbed into the crystal and the ending with all the chaos.
I love Atlantis and Treasure Planet so much! The last real Movie I watched before my Anxiety was to high to go to the cinemas was actually Treasure Planet, so it holds a special place in my heart. I watched it in an old 70th cinema and it was like a cinema dream. We were the only one watching it and urgh... best day of my life!
18:27 One would expect that, when granted infinite or near-infinite power, a human mind would need a considerable amount of time to sift through the input of 71,000 new senses and 11 extra spatial dimensions. Also, if we talk regular biology, having enough energy to create virtually impenetrable constructs of hard light flowing through you would likely overload your brain and possibly knock you out.
You do realize all the plot holes, the huge fleet being prepared already, the crew being mean to Milo, ridiculing Atlantis despite being fully prepared for it bringing fighter biplanes and giant blimp, and the missing page, can all be explained if you assume that everyone else already understood the journal's content and are just putting up an act in front of Milo, right? Milo isn't the only person that can read the journal. He's just the only one being kept in the dark to be their best actor to buy entrance to the Atlantis and sweet talk Atlanteans into telling them where the crystal is (which turns out wasn't needed, further hinting that Rourke can decipher ancient symbols just fine without Milo). Kida went along with him was just a bit weird, but this is a magic crystal we're talking about and you can pull out theories for days about why she's not fighting back. But the rest of the plot holes are pretty clear cut.
I'm super happy that you did this video. I'd personally draw attention to "The Road to El Dorado" and "Treasure Planet" too. They're all gems that were overshadowed by the newer styles (especially after Toy Story, Monsters Inc, A Bug's Life, Antz, Shrek, Corpse Bride etc)
I love how unique the movie's art direction and character designs were. It was heavily inspired by the work of Hellboy's comic book artist, Mike Mignola.

Emperor's new groove was MY SHIT growing up, i loved that movie
I was UNPREPARED FOR WHEN HE SCREAMED: MILO! PUT THAT CHILD DOWN-
I genuinely jumped and laughed so hard!

I love this freaking movie. This movie, road to el derado, treasure planet, and prince of Egypt, are crazy underrated
kida was the start of my bisexual panic
Me too, now that I think about it. But pan.
Helga and Kida😩
@@itsthatmemelowell helga 🤌
Kida awaked my tan-skinned girl fascination...dark elves man...they be something.
As soon as you said "they're on they're way" Darwin's song On My Way from The Amazing World of Gumball started playing in my head
Yo this and Treasure Planet don’t get enough love. I want THIS princess walking around Disney too!!!
The motive you made for Rourke taking the page makes more sense. He doesn't know but "shiney" = money. It checks out! Thank you for the great video!
I just remembered one of his lines is literally "what's to know? It's big, it's shiny, it's gonna make us all rich". Lol.
Considering Rorke was part of the expedition that found the book with Milo's grandfather, I assume that in a very poor judge of character moment he overshared a bit too much, Rorke put 2+2 together and ripped and kept the page for a rainy day.
The sharp contrast between "WHO WOULDA THOUGHT!?!?" and "oh shit my chair is still broken" is just peak comedy
dont have a dog, but he's doing fine, holding up stellar in non-existence
Yeah, not only the body count is high, but I love that like Star Wars, they have a battle in the end;
Like not a raid or a skirmish or a simple brawl like at the end of Beauty and the Beast, no, it's a full militarized one side vs another side battle; like the one that you say "Battle of"
Battle of Naboo, Battle of Geonosis, Battle of Coruscant, Battle of Yavin, Battle of Hoth, Battle of Endor, Battle of Zion (Matrix), Battle of Hogwarts, Battle of New York (Avengers), Battle of Chicago (Transformers) . . . The Battle of Atlantis . . .
"Candle shrine is a little bit creepy . . ." It's his Paternal Grandfather, his father's father. It's not like he's a stalker who has a shrine to a love interest . . . like Helga Pataki X3 Edit: She wants Arnold Shortman's shortman XD
"Sorry you're dead, deal with it." If I were him, my first act; I'm telling St. Peter it's all Audrey's fault! X3
How is my dog doing? . . . My Paternal Grandmother's Tibetan Terrier; Dixie passed away . . . over 18 years ago . . . So yeah, umm, I guess she's doing great, chilling with the Lord :D
This and disney’s “dinosaur” were absolutely some of my favorites when i was a kid, but holy shit I didn’t realize atlantis had so many plot holes lol
I LOVE Dinosaur, I always forget about that movie.
No one remembers dinosaur so when I was younger and tried talking about it everyone convinced me it wasn't real and I made it up
Everyone I know says Dinosaur is garbage but I adored it as a child I had it on video, it holds a special place in my heart idc what anyone says.
I loved this movie as a child. It was so much bigger than anything the real world had to offer when I was little.. it had me so invested everytime I watched it. Need to rewatch it soon as an adult for sure
My friends and siblings made fun of me for liking Atlantis so much... But I always knew I just had better taste than them.
I'm so mad that Disney screwed over Treasure Planet...
That & the black cauldron 😭
@@princessadrigirl6774 The black cauldron is a deserved flop. I recently read the books that the movie was based off of and its a disgrace compared to it. The movie did zero justice for the characters and the books. But that's just my opinion. I do recommend the books tho
@@thehashbrownguy1322 I honestly don’t think something needs to be 100% like the books to be good, plus it’s not like they had total control over the movie lol. Who knows what it could’ve been without major interference
@@princessadrigirl6774 I agree but they got characters wrong, they swapped names and roles. They fricking killed Gurgi even tho he doesn't die in the book at all. They made Fflewddur old and wrinkly and Dalben isn't a wise enchanter. I would recommend the books to see for yourself.
@@thehashbrownguy1322 I already know the books. Just not mad about the changes
Remember Mignola? The one from Hellboy comic books? He drew the production and character designs of Atlantis and it's one of my favourite parts of it now
I love this movie, but the most underrated Disney movie is Treasure Planet.
For sure
How? Everyone who's seen it loves it. Underrated doesn't mean least watched...
FACTS
@@Robin-be1zm It’s not talked about as much as other Disney films in the general public. In fact, it’s never talked about. But it has a vocal following online.
@@alexlazzerly3677 thus it's not underrated. A rating says how good a movie is, something is considered underrated if everyone is talking about it like it's worse than it is. Treasure planet is not underrated
Mentioning the amount of casualties in this movie, my siblings and me would watch it basically on repeat, they were 5 and 6 (i was like 11)... i never even thought about it... no wonder im now into crime and disaster docus O.o
Personally put Treasure Planet is the most underrated Disney movie with Atlantis being a solid second.
i agree!!
Same
@@ineedtostop6831 Personally I didn't care or remember much of that film. But mostly cause I am not the biggest fan of most Disney films, also I honestly have a hard time getting interested in media set in the medieval era (honestly so sick of how overused that setting is).
No, Atlantis is far more underrated. At least Treasure Planet gets decent reviews, Atlantis is sitting at like a 40% on rotten tomatoes despite less interesting and well put together films getting higher scores. I love both and prefer Treasure Planet but I think Atlantis is less popular and fondly looked at.
i’d personally also add The Hunchback Of Notre Dame, idk if it’s generally true or not but when i bring it up when discussing disney with people sooo many don’t know it- once a girl i knew had a disney costume party for her 18th, most people went as “modern” versions, i went as modern Esmerelda and like no one had a clue as to who I was, not even the girl throwing the party who was that typical disney princess obsessed fan (tattoos of some disney stuff and all)
This movie was the thing that made me realize how bisexual I really was when I was younger.....I was attracted to Milo and his geekiness and intelligence and then BAM, Helga came around and I was like "fuck"
Same!!
I genuinely wonder if Kida or Helga was a lot of lesbian's first crushes cus ooooooooooooffff
Oh..it all makes sense now
For real tho. Kida, Milo, Helga, Audrey, dr Sweet,...
Atlantis is a bisexual treasure
Kida and Milo were my sexual awakening

Treasure Planet was my favourite movie growing up and everybody always talks about it as a flop, so I can't wait for your take on it!
Check out Horns with Daniel Radcliffe. It’s actually quite the underrated gem
Atlantis: The Lost Empire is my favorite Disney movie. So underrated with wonderful animation, great characters, and an interesting plot!
I can't wait for the Treasure Planet video it's literally in my top 10

Actually, they say there was nothing living. Just statues, gold, and ruins. The reason they're rich is
a) the gold, and
b) finding Atlantis, but the reason nobody else is going is because
c) almost everyone died and
d) the place has already been "looted" by the original team
*Atlantis* and *Treasure Planet* are the films that should have a live action remake. Cruella?! Ain't nobody got time for that!
i think they should stay untouched imo. they’d get butchered in live-action.
Dear god no! The only plus to this movie not being well loved is they’ll probably never make a live action.
Fun fact: the character Milo Thatcher was actually based on another popular character named Dr. Daniel Jackson from the Stargate franchise. Who literally has the same appearance and also has a similar personality.
The black cauldron is my favourite Disney movie but Treasure Planet and Atlantis are up there. I have watched all these movies like 100 times over. The underrated movies are the best ones.
The main character staying behind reminds me of the original Stargate Movie!
Dude, Atlantis The Lost Empire is just too good, truly an underrated movie 🎥🔥

My theory about why Rourke took the page is that they found the book with Milo’s grandfather, who was also able to read the book, and thus Milo’s grandpa told him about the contents and perhaps he then took the page in secret.
"Leave a comment on how your dog is doing"

One of my favorite movies growing up. Still holds up pretty well, you can also tell Disney put a lot of soul into this. It's like a love letter to classic pulp sci fi like Jules Verne or hg wells.

The Family Stone (2005) full movie what movie name
"Atlantis The Lost Empire" is a really strange way to spell Treasure Planet
1:50
From what I can gather, the king of Atlantis used the heart crystal to make a weapon of unspeakable power - what we see at the start of the film is, in my eyes, a test fire. Except it's a test fire not unlike Castle Bravo, where the weapon turns out to be spectacularly more powerful than intended, made even worse because it's quite close to the city proper.
“Grande Isle” with Nick Cage has to be your next review.
18:27
One would expect that, when granted infinite or near-infinite power, a human mind would need a considerable amount of time to sift through the input of 71,000 new senses and 11 extra spatial dimensions.
This and treasure planet are probably the most underrated Disney movies, I love them, they don't get enough love
My dogs doing well. Turns 8 this Sunday got a big party planed for him.
"Rorick is such a..."

I love how unique the movie's art direction and character designs were. It was heavily inspired by the work of Hellboy's comic book artist, Mike Mignola.
