For the topping:
250g/2 cups finely chopped walnuts
150g/3/4 cup sugar
For the cake:
500g/4 cups all purpose flour (sifted)
100g/1/2 cup sugar
500ml/2 cups buttermilk at room temperature
3 eggs at room temperature
350ml/1 cup+7 tbsp heavy cream at room temperature
20g/2 tbsp baking powder
2g/1/4 tsp salt
2.5g/1/2 tsp vanilla powder
