This really wasn't half bad for what it was, compared to so many other portable MK titles (save for MK II on the Game Boy, which might be the best by default). Character movement was kinda slow but the controls were fine and moves were smooth and functional. Even had decent gore. Hell, MK Advance makes THIS look like the real deal.

When Acclaim held the home rights, they changed the spelling to be overly cautious about not being sued by Taito for their shmup also called "Raiden". Even when Midway/Williams got it back, they still erred on it for MK3 and Trilogy before finally going to "Raiden" for the home ports of MK4.
Well actually I found out that there was actually a Tiger Handheld port of MK1 and it sucks ass completely. Worser than any other Mortal Kombat games like Advance or GameCom Trilogy port XD☝️
Omfg, no offense but the Tiger Electronic Game.com badly or sorely needed a larger overall screen size, more built in ram, a dedicated mono and stereo sound system, sprite based graphics and maybe even a coloured/textured screen version for today's weaker eyeballs !!! ¯\_ಠ_ಠ_/¯ ｡◕‿◕｡

Believe it or not I actually enjoy playing/experiencing MK 4 on the Nintendo GBC... obviously the MK 4/Gold console versions are far superior but I do have to admire their originality and or creativity (the Nintendo GBC wasn't really known for decent sprite based fighters).
