the thing with Steve is, that he is actually really talented (maybe also bit mad) on guitar but many only see his goofy overdrawn personality he shows in the videos but dude got skill many would be jealous of
Really interesting; I don't know much about the country industry but it sounds like a microcosm of the music industry at large, insofar as the same writers are making pretty much the same basic songs for the prettiest people they can find.
Since this video has been up for 2 years now, and Stevie even commented that he liked it, I doubt that he would copyright claim it XD Thanks for making this!
The thing with Stevie is he makes his jokes and crack us up, but he is hugely talented. Also funny enough, though I don't listen to much country, the artists that I really like are almost all Canadian.
I watch every Stevie t video and am a country fan and am so happy with how accurate it is and the same criticism about shredding live! I've seen bands for country stars that looked like they belonged in a metal band
It's so true that country music songwriting is such a formula that doesn't get changed much these days but, I personally am such a sucker for it and I love Hardy. (mostly because he mixes metal and rock with his music). He cranks out hits of his own band and writes hits for huge country artists, very impressive.
I mean, one of my favorite bluegrass bands is Canadian. I don’t see why Stevie couldn’t hit it big. In all seriousness, it’s easy to joke about how cookie cutter modern country is, but he actually made that sound good. Most actual country artists can’t make modern country sound good. He’s kill it if he grew a mullet and learned to fake a convincing accent.
Modern Country is a lot different than it used to be. Ole Hank would have never done it this way. I used to listen to it as well as metal but there are maybe 5 bands out there that can still do good country.
I was drunk the day my momma got out of prison and I went to pick her up with my pickup truck in the rain but before I could get to the station she got ran over by a damn old train (the perfect country song) David Allen Coe.
Written by Steve Goodman and John Prine. You don’t get much better than those two. Especially John Prine who didn’t take a writing credit for the song. But yeah, David Alan Coe, a very country anti type.
Been a Steve T subscriber for a couple/few years now. Didn't know he was Canadian, but I guess it makes sense (I am too and I can see his "Canadianisms" (reminds me of Jim Carey)). Anyway, glad to see you enjoy his content. Heavy/Death Metal is where it's at. Steve should invent some Djentry (Djent/Country). Banjdent (Banjo Djent).
This just shows everything I don't like about Country music and the scene, makes me so glad I am in the UK, we value artists for what they can do, this means writing, playing, recording and performing live. The metal scene is so diverse and while I do not like all of it there are bands in most sub-genres that I like which shows how different they sound, its not all the same or noise, Long live Rock and Roll, and Metal

One has to got to alternative country to hear real country music than the country pop stuff that is popular. It is artist like Colter Wall, Sireera Ferrell, Logan Ledger and Charlie Crockett who are preserving the traditions of country music and presenting it to a new audience.
Absolutely!!! Live is a different beast. I’m 2014, I went to Austin to see Jason Aldean open fro George Strait. In Jason’s set was My Kinda Party, that song, even on the album, has a kinda guitar solo trade off and they played that even better and longer live. Im a guitarist myself so even though I do t know any band members’ names, I go to see them just as much as the titular name. George Strait was phenomenal and his Ace in the Hole band is the reason why he’s able to be so amazing. I wish I could relive that night over and over again.
Turned out a lot better than I was expecting. Really cool of you to be able to keep things professional. And I like the points that both of you made even though I haven’t watched the original video.
Great video, thank you, sir! He came close on the name-drop requirement with "favorite sing-along" line, but probably too inside baseball for outright hit. There's a ton of Taylor Swift mentions - does that count? :) For a complete jester, Stevie is a damn good musician (or the other way around) and these parodies can be so spot on, they could be on the radio, especially the Ed Sheeran one he did... You should do a by-the-numbers country song, on a dare.... and then a country metal one, with some death growls :)
I gotta say one thing. Blue Grass band, Trampled By Turtles, the Metallica of Blue Grass live. First time I've ever seen a Blue Grass mosh pit. So if you EVER get a chance, go see them. Their studio albums, absolutely opposite. GO SEE THEM LIVE! you will not regret it.
10:15 I know Brad Paisley is prob one of the best guitar playing frontmen I've ever seen. I've seen him going off on a few live videos, I'm not used to seeing the lead singer also being the lead guitarist, but Paisley nails it.

Stevie T is just awesome. Insanely talented in most stuff he does. he was once asked to go on tour with Dragonforce not sure what instrument i thought there was a joke him doing a triangle. Sadly back then he had alot of axiety, but he would rock on guitars with that band.
It was actually the touring bass player role they offered him! But yes, everything else 100% spot on. Such a shame, Stevie strikes me as the goofiest and friendliest lad, if anyone deserved the chance it was him 😔

Stevie is definitely a goofball, but he's actually really talented. I had fun watching you react and was surprised you agreed with so much of it, lol. Country music man...
Stevie T - Shadowed By Darkness is an insane instrumental and was his very early MV.
Just saw that video a few days ago and was utterly blown away. Its a great showcase of his more serious muso side.
That was awesome Tank !!!!
I have to show this to my Dad ( Back in the day , he had a Country band called "Rodeo" ). I am a metal head , but I remember this sound so well....
🤘😎🤘.
Steve´s musicality is absolutely fantastic, I´m always impressed!
the thing with Steve is, that he is actually really talented (maybe also bit mad) on guitar but many only see his goofy overdrawn personality he shows in the videos but dude got skill many would be jealous of
He’s an INSANELY good musician.
I kinda got tired of Steve's schtick. I can't deny the guy is incredibly talented though.
The direct intersection of Immense Talent x Obnoxious TH-cam "personality".
@@aafjeyakubu5124 yeah, just too obnoxious. had to stop checking for him.
The guy was going to stand in and play bass for dragonforce as some stage I think...
Your video popped up in my feed. I saw Stevie T's video when he did it. I liked your critique of his video and your insight into country music.
Thanks, man!
Petition to get Stevie T on the Black lounge podcast!
Hardy is awesome. 🤘
Absolutely thought you were gonna RIP on this one!
Pleasantly-surprised & happy you didn't.
I mean, I honestly expected coming into this that I was gonna disagree with half the stuff he said, but he absolutely nailed it.
The Dead South?
@@dxtra4172 Yup.
@@pj3827 Because he's have to leave mommy's house.
Check out the Hurtin’ Albertan Corb Lund, dude’s the real-deal and usually has some absolute murderous players in his band
@@srsucioguapodelsur8845 Thanks for the tip, I’ll give him a look.
I’ve been watching Stevie T for a long while and his satire is really funny, I could see him being a country artist comedian.
Modern Country is a lot different than it used to be. Ole Hank would have never done it this way. I used to listen to it as well as metal but there are maybe 5 bands out there that can still do good country.
Stevie T is an immensely talented artist.
I was drunk the day my momma got out of prison and I went to pick her up with my pickup truck in the rain but before I could get to the station she got ran over by a damn old train (the perfect country song) David Allen Coe.
Guess I'll just have to have You Never Even Called Me By My Name stuck in my head for the rest of the day
Written by Steve Goodman and John Prine.
😂I’m glad I watched this through Tank! Definitely made it better getting the 👍 by someone who can confirm the country legitimacy!🤣
This reaction was just plain fun. Thanks Tank. Thanks Steve.🤘👍✌
Props on roadie work bro... People just don't know how hard you, "they" work to put on the show that we normal folks love so much. Thank you!
just checked kyle fishman, and he recently wrote an album with the title "coldest beer in town" haha.
Great vid! Don't know why I hadn't seen this react video or your channel before today but new sub for sure! Greetings from the house bassest of the Gore Country Music Club, a metal head living in the Country Music capital of NZ.
Everything Stevie has covered for a how to be..... Could be sold to whoever he is roasting his how to be imagine dragons I swear was their newest single with a change (minor) of lyrics. Love Stevie t
I think i remember you from Suwannee River Jam. I was FOH on the amphitheater stage. Congrats on the TH-cam!
Jason Hook is a prime example. He was a guitarist for Hilary Duff before 5FDP.
I didn't know that
Tank this was a great video to make! This is definitely an eye opener for part of the music world. I enjoyed every bit of this and thanks for talking about it! Definitely a great subject to bring up!
Stevie is extremely talented and he’s like the Jim Carey of music TH-cam
Yes
Turned out a lot better than I was expecting. Really cool of you to be able to keep things professional. And I like the points that both of you made even though I haven’t watched the original video.
I think my intro to Stevie T was his How to Be Black Metal video 😂. He always nails it.
Great video. As someone from Alabama, I appreciate that “y’all” at the end.
Not his Parent's house. He bought it himself. LOL. Thanks for sharing his video. Oh and he does not listen to country at all. He just did research. 🤣
i love the fact that Steve is always on point with his songs
Great video, thank you, sir! He came close on the name-drop requirement with "favorite sing-along" line, but probably too inside baseball for outright hit. There's a ton of Taylor Swift mentions - does that count? :) For a complete jester, Stevie is a damn good musician (or the other way around) and these parodies can be so spot on, they could be on the radio, especially the Ed Sheeran one he did... You should do a by-the-numbers country song, on a dare.... and then a country metal one, with some death growls :)
And thanx Tank for all you do brother just love your reactions keep on Rolling!❤
That’s hilarious! On point. And as someone who appreciates country, this one reason I shy away from modern country.
The finger snapping crap in every new country song drives me insane
Came for Stevie, stayed for your awesome input… subbed for sure 😄
Thanks!
Stevie is a superb guitarist. He was asked to join Dragonforce. He didn't because of personal issues but he can shred really well.
Cool video and interesting perspectives. Will be checking out more of your vids.
Love your videos TANK!!! Big fan from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺🤘🏻🤘🏻
10:15 I know Brad Paisley is prob one of the best guitar playing frontmen I've ever seen. I've seen him going off on a few live videos, I'm not used to seeing the lead singer also being the lead guitarist, but Paisley nails it.
Brad is absolutely phenomenal.
@@TankTheTech Ive seen video of Keith Urban shedding like his life depended on it.. Check out *The Ranch- Clutterbilly*. Keith kills but Country pays the bills.
Dude slayed when he did that GoT collab a few years back.
That's actually pretty cool that you have worked at the Calgary Stampede. I hope you had a great time in our little city.
I LOVE Calgary. I’ve done shows at the Saddledome more times than I can count as well.
We just saw the last couple stops of Alan Jackson's final tour, and each member was given a solo. Shredding? Maybe not, but they let loose.
Country musicians are usually phenomenal.
Your video was an interesting insight into the behind the scenes of country music. It's easy to forget that musicians might play for more than one group or do their own thing on the side
Sing allong kids... COWBOY BOOTS 'N' BEERS *uhuuuuuuuuuuu* 🤠
RAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN
Great show Steve T will be contacting you.
I think he nailed it. The most impressive for me though was the mix.
As a fan of Stevie you earned my subscribe. I was also shocked how good his song was lmao
Stevie T has done quite a few "How to be.." music vids. My fav is how to be power metal.
That was my first Stevie T video...laughed my ass off!🤣🤣🤣best descriptions of different drum beats across numerous videos😂
@@erikrandan7294 the full songs video after is amazing lol
His drum beats are spot on and accurate....fun fact I saw in a Unleash the Archers interview Brittney actually dropped a boots cat booty camp talking drums
Lol that's hilarious
Dude, I did some session work for a local country guy from here in dayton last year. Dude hit all of these notes.
Absolutely hilarious, “he’s getting paid for that, we’re not, we’re skipping NordVPN”
Around the 8:00 mark, I lost it with the "Damn, he's got a big ass porch!". I think I'll take a big ass porch over a multi octave vocal range. Lol
I have lived 20 minutes from Branson Missouri my entire life. Listening to mostly metal in my youth I felt very out of place.... There are alot of posers. They all have their shtick. I have followed Stevie for some time, I like his smart ass attitude, that's pretty much why I'm here. I can appreciate quality musicianship, like you say some of the guitar players are awesome, but they are stuck playing top ten country junk.
I used to live in Springfield, MO several years ago and it was sad how a lot of the bands that played in Springfield sounded the same. It's like Springfield had its own sound. I'm curious if it's still the same way
Thanks for highlighting ST been a fan forever …glad I found ya ..suscribed
Stevie T is just awesome. Insanely talented in most stuff he does. he was once asked to go on tour with Dragonforce not sure what instrument i thought there was a joke him doing a triangle. Sadly back then he had alot of axiety, but he would rock on guitars with that band.
It was actually the touring bass player role they offered him! But yes, everything else 100% spot on. Such a shame, Stevie strikes me as the goofiest and friendliest lad, if anyone deserved the chance it was him 😔
I always found that highly ironic that someone who spends his life screaming on TH-cam suddenly gets crippling anxiety once they have to put up or shut up on stage.
@@gargaj Performing solo in front of a camera in your own home is completely different from performing on a stage in front of hundreds or even thousands of people.
@@vidrax_de Yes, that's my point: everybody gangsta until you're in tomato range.
Lol Steve is always nailing it. Very informative Tank.
Stevie is insanely talented. Or was it insanely mad?
I'm not sure, however, insanity is definitely involved.
It's both.
