Xperia 1 III owner here - I was trying to test the difference of 4k and 1080p between my 1 III and 5 and wow you can actually tell a difference, especially in 21:9 mode
Lol no you can’t. 4k is indifferent to 1080p on mobile good try tho
@@tylorsmith7580 that's what everyone thinks but I compared the identical video on my Xperia 5 and 1 III, people that say that have never used a 4k display on a day to day basis.
@@UzsDc1UZ minor difference only. I have used the Xperia before. 4k display is more of a gimmick plus its terrible on the battery life. Full hd+ is enough on a smartphone. Beyond that it will affect the battery life so bad
I think it's still worth it on movies with a lot of fine details such as movies in space or highly textured content. It's worth it for me and it's only on during movies so it doesn't drain much battery to me.
@@UzsDc1UZ 4k is meant to be watch on a large screen. On a smartphone is more of a gimmick. Its my pov only. I dont watch movies on a smartphone

Now get this, LG being LG had Dolby vision on a smartphone like six years ago. I have LgC1 tele at home but to this day watching Marco Polo in dolby on my LG g6 is(first smartphone with 21-9 and Dolby vision ) still the best video experience ever. It is monumental difference and quality of picture compare to Samsung puny hdr plus.
@@dado380 Yeah, you're right, but before this, I owned a MacBook Pro 2009 and the direct step to this new model feels to me like entering a new world. :)

pretty cool, but the flickering/ oversharpness/ over contrast, whatever, in motion in flickers for me which is uncomfortable to watch. it only really did it with the city scenes. great video otherwise though.

While I've been very impressed wtih 4K, I've not been with Dolby vision, in my opinion it does a poor job oregulating brightness and contrast.
