Book summary: Amber Blackwood, lifelong resident of Edgehill, Oregon, has earned a reputation for being a semi-reclusive odd duck. Her store, The Quirky Whisker, is full of curiosities, from extremely potent sleepy teas and ever-burning candles to kids’ toys that seem to run endlessly without the aid of batteries. The people of Edgehill think of the Quirky Whisker as an integral part of their feline-obsessed town, but most give Amber herself a wide berth. Amber prefers it that way; it keeps her secret safe. But that secret is thrown into jeopardy when Amber’s friend Melanie is found dead, a vial of headache tonic from Amber’s store clutched in her hand.
Edgehill’s newest police chief has had it out for Amber since he arrived three years before from Tennessee. He can’t possibly know she’s a witch, but his suspicions about her odd store and even odder behavior have shot her to the top of his suspect list. When the Edgehill rumor mill finds out Melanie was poisoned, it’s not only the police chief who looks at Amber differently. Determined to both find justice for her friend and to clear her own name, Amber must use her unique gifts to help track down Melanie’s real killer. A quest that threatens much more than her secret …

1st time reading/listening to a book by this author. I absolutely loved it!! It was well written and kept my attention througout. I found myself trying to decipher which character was the killer. Great ending!!! Can't wait to find more from the author.

Just wanted to let you know; I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I love these kinds of books with mystery & witches, those 'who done it' books that are done the Right way, & this book is done the RIGHT way. Kept me interested the whole way through. And the narrator narration Is great.

I have just found your channel and listened to book one, I thought it would be a book to go to sleep with, as most stories I fall asleep listening too without any problems but yours is a book that stopped me doing this and also I couldn't turn it off so I could actually sleep! So now I write this overtired. So my complaint is that your story is too good and so enjoyable that once started you can't stop listening! I am having to use some strong willpower to not start listening to the next one as I looked up your playlists! I am going to recommend you to my friends and let my daughter listen to them too. I'm definitely A fan! Great story with just enough intrigue to keep me fully engaged without making me too cerebral! I was enjoying the play of characters enough to let go of my own detective tendencies & just float along with the story! An amazing adventure! My one take away is Never let a witch,friendly or Not make you a drink! LOL!

As both a Native Oregonian, and a cat lover, your book is Amazingly Awesome. However, that being said, Chief Brown, being in town, actually the state, perfectly epitomizes why we have issues with people that move to Oregon that have attitudes about the locals.

Ambers vision at the body included washing the body, re-dressing it, moving it to a part of the house and placing the evidence in her hand.
The wife seeing red and not having a plan is bunco.
(honestly with the "feeling of betrayal" from the vision I was kinda leaning toward the Husband or even the Mother.)
Very fun books! I plowed through both books and didn't even realize book 2 was so new! I can't wait to order book 3. I think your going to be a huge success.

I love the narrator and this was a nice, easy book to listen to while I'm working on taxes!
The person who died isn't a very likable character but since the plot revolves more around Amber I didn't mind that and was able to continue listening.
