if your fridge is not cooling, 1st look at the rear wall of your freezer. If there is frost on that wall replace the blower fan in the area where he blew air.

We just bought this GE refrigerator a week ago. When they installed it the guy told us that it would cool down in 24 hrs. A week later, it never reached 0 and stayed there. Both freezer and refrigerator temp go up and then come down somewhat. When the service guy came yesterday, he took off the back panel and there was frost on the coils. Told us the compressor was going out. We have been without a good working refrigerator for almost a month as our Frigidaire had a freon leak and finally stopped cooling altogether. I am not used to having issues with refrigerators that last only 4 years before something goes wrong or one that doesn't work from the day it was delivered. As we've only had it a week, opted not to get an identical replacement but a completely different manufacturer. I'll try the air to hopefully keep the freezer cold enough not to lose all our food again until the new one arrives next week.

the best fridge is the one with the extended warranty. dept of energy by law req. more efficient fridges thus alot of boards, sensors ect...which dont last as long as the old ones. never buy a lg or samsung. they look nice buy have known problems. if i had to buy a new one it would be american made(for parts) and with the top side freezer. cold settles...freezer on bottom, ice makers, water disp just complicate things and cause problems.

If fan is running the compressor and condenser fan also have to be operating at the same time. If the 3 components are working then remove the panel below the fan motor of the freezer compartment and check if the evaporator coil is filled with frost. the whole coil from bottom to top must be covered in frost and if only two lines have that it means theres a restriction in the seal system or starving for refrigerant

Update: as of today I took the backplate off in my freezer to expose the evaporator coils. And sure enough all of the coils are frozen... there were also some coils on the bottom, back of the fridge (exterior) that were clogged with dust . So I cleaned that too.. but I think my main issue is that the coils in the freezer section are frozen and apparently the defrost heater didn't do its job..

if a service person introduced R134a to the system and it cooled for one day and then temperature went up again that means somewhere in the seal system theres a gas leak either at the service valve he installed or other parts such as the evaporator inside the freezer or on the back condenser coil.
