being a skylander gamer that used the wii for a long time, i can safely say that playing on the wii is still an absolute blast because of the nostalgia and fun of the bad graphics lol. i luv your videos mr. krypt
The moving platforms in Spyro adventure are probably hidden loading screens, same for the unskipable video sequences. Game devs love to hide loading sequences behind videos and very small spaces where you can't do or move alot, that need very low processing power. This is especially useful if you don't have time to optimize a game (e.g. due to only 2 months to port a game) and therefore have huge loading times bc of hd graphics.
No it’s not, if you use programs where you can move freely around the map you can see that the whole map gets loaded in, idk what the deal with those weird elevators is, but it’s not a loading screen.
@@PrimalKevYT okay, that's extremely weird. Maybe just a dev who got drunk on a long night and bc he was so mad for the short timeline he just put it in to f with people xD. Or they try to load all assets in a particular order(because the Wii version does it that way due to the low res) and with that, more powerful systems can load the map completely. However, due to CPU, GPU and RAM constraints they needed to add those platforms in, because they noticed performance issues on some systems. So it could be more of an afterthought added in to tackle performance issues. Because (and I may be in the wrong here) I don't think anyone who uses an emulator, to move around freely on the map, would constrain the game to e.g. the 512MB of RAM a Xbox 360 had
It's great to have you back for a long time, Krypt Krusher. My brother and I used to play SSA, Giants and even the best Skylanders game on Wii. I have strong nostalgia towards the Wii version of SSA but when I replayed it few months ago, I have to admit it hasn't aged well. While I do consider the Wii version as the best out of the console versions, the 3DS version is the definitive version of SSA, for me. It's bizarre how I fell in love with Swap Force on Wii. Must be due to how my brother and I thought the game looked cool back in early 2014. Nowadays, I don't want to play that disaster on Wii anymore. I want to play Swap Force on PS3. At least I still have the 3DS version of Swap Force. Swap Force is love, Swap Force is life. Unlike with the previous games, I didn't play Trap Team on Wii because my brother and I decided to stop playing together. Instead, I played Trap Team on 3DS. But I did play Kaos' Doom Challenges because my brother asked me to do so. Basically, I had the worst experience with Trap Team.
8:13 I actually like it when pre-boss levels are shorter so that way I can easily get to the boss fight without a slog of a long level whenever I wanna fight a boss
Yeah, I played most of my Skylanders games on the Wii so I was seriously confused when the graphics on my game looked so different then the gameplay I saw online. But hey, it is what it is, still enjoyed playing the games in spite of the poor graphics and frame rate.

A few more things you probably missed from swap force on the wii. When you’re still progressing through the Story of swap force, the mid point loading screen actually acts as a check point, so you can take a break from playing the very long levels(again this is only when you play the level for the first time. Once you beat it, the midpoint won’t act as a check point anymore) Another thing, Wrecking Ball and Nightshift are ridiculously OP. Every time Wrecking ball uses his tongue Attack, the game acts as if it each push of the button was actually 5 pushes. So he hits 5 times harder than he should and it’s pretty funny to watch him destroy everything in his path. Night Shift, or at least his bottom path, is also OP because each of his extra lives brings him back to full health when used. So whatever swapper uses his bottom path will have over 2000 HP. If you play battle mode with multiple lives on, he gets an additional 3 lives for every extra life you have it set to. One more thing I found out recently from experience, in the level where you gotta save the tree spirit, if you use Dinorang’s circular boomerang move the Game crashes. That’s about it. It’s the only version of swap force I got and it’s the first Skylanders game I’ve ever played.

Great video, really enjoyed it. As good as Skylanders on the Wii is, mainly the first 2 games. The Wii was never meant to be powerful. They had to sacrifice power and graphics to fit this motion control in, so basically they just overclocked a Gamecube, this is supported by the fact the Wii can read Gamecube ISOs, if you use the homebrew channel on models that do not support it. You may argue that the XBOX 360 has Kinect and the PS3 has Playstation move, both of these have motion control. These were released later as separate accessories. Also the functions of Wiiconnect24 was also one of the factors why the Wii team had to weaken the console. The console had the ability to always be online. As someone who used to play the games a ton on the Wii, I didn’t mind it. Since I had no standards to compare it to. I didn’t have any other consoles. So the games worked fine for me. But now that I have played Superchargers/Imaginators on Wii U, and Swap Force-Imaginators on PS5. The Wii version is absolutely abysmal. And I don’t know how I lived with it.
Having tried nearly every Wii version, I recently decided to buy a Wii U (So I could continue using use Bowser & Donkey Kong) And the improvements are fantastic, It's a sort of best of both worlds as you still have the options to use the Wiimote & Nunchuck if you grew up on them and like that or use the gamepad/classic controller which I think is great. When I got back into Skylanders, I decided to get Imaginators for Switch and when I got the Wii U, I got the Wii U version too and it's so much better on there. I'm glad the Wii didn't get an imaginators, I can only imagine the struggles. They might've done a stripped version like the switch, which looking back made no sense seeing as it's more powerful. As someone who had them all on Wii and eventually bought a Wii U to play on Superchargers, I did not enjoy Swap Force and Trap Team as much as I should have done. Have just discovered this channel and I had forgotten just how much I enjoyed Skylanders
I honestly can’t remember which version of Swap Force I was playing, but I know I played Giants Wii and Trap Team Wii U. I always liked Swap Force a decent amount regardless
I recently decided to play skylanders again after years and years, i chose to play trap team on dolphin since i dont have my figures anymore and wanted to try some new skylanders i never got to play with. Swap Force on Wii is probably one of the worst gaming experiences a person can have. Like half the time my Wii can't even handle the 3 frames per second on the screen and crashes half way through the level.

when i was a kid i got swap force wii for my birthday, and i thought it was a bad game. then, on christmas, we got an xbox 360, and i got a new copy of the game for it. it was actually mindblowing seeing everything in the cloudbreak isles clearly. for a long time it was my least favorite game in the series because of the bad taste the wii version left in my mouth
10 years ago, on Christmas day, I got Skylanders Swap Force on Wii. I didn't mind the graphics at the time (nowadays they are hilarious) and I became a fan of the series. Now, I have every game on a Nintendo console besides from SSA JP and SSCR on Wii, alongside a version of every Skylander (theonly ones I have as both their variants and the NFC cards are Chompy Mage and Double Dare Trigger Happy.
My 2007 Wii runs trap team fine lmao but I think swap force is by far the most awful… but I have so much nostalgia for it’s bad graphics, I had no idea that swap force didn’t actually look like how it did, I just thought the games graphics were always this bad
I grew up on the Wii version of Swap Force and Trap Team and never knew that there was such a big difference in graphics and level design until this video and now I want to buy the Xbox one version for my series x so I can see what I missed and experience the better parts of the game.
to summarize the video; Spyros Adventure: the Wii version is technically the superior version but it's still up to preference. (HD version has slight differences) Giants: the HD version is basically just an updated port of the Wii verion which makes it superior but the original is still very playable with almost no differences aside from graphics and frame rate (Wii is 30fps while HD is 60fps) Swap Force and Trap Team: The Wii version is a downgraded port of the HD game and is VASTLY inferior in every way, you can easily find a used copy of the HD versions for under $15 (take note for Xbox versions, you need a specific Xbox portal as they are not universal like Wii, WiiU, PS3, and PS4 portals) Superchargers: completely different game that has no relation to the original game whatsoever, probably for the better (3DS version is probably better since you wouldn't need the portal and the Skylanders bucket nearby 24/7) Imaginators:
I actually played all the skylanders games in the Wii until I got a Wii U, back then I was too young to even notice the bad graphics, but I’ve started a replay of the HD version of spyros adventure cause I played it for the first time 12 years ago and damn it feels good! Especially using modern day controllers on it, but I had no clue they made Wii U and a PC/Mac disk port! I wonder how good it runs
So, only Spyro's Adventure, Giants, Swap Force, Trap Team and Superchargers were available on Wii and not Imaginators! Well obviously since the Wii was discontinued ever since.
I know how to surpass the dreamcatcher crashing glitch on the wii for trap team. if you take too long to complete the level, the level will crash at the end, but if you don't doddle and complete the level fast enough, it won't crash. the fact that it crashes at all is a problem, but this is a workaround that works for me. just complete the level semiquickly (you don't have to be speedrunner perfect, you just can't spend a lot of time goofing around and need to collect the collectables in an efficient fashion)
Play Superchargers Racing. It's great.
I already had, on 3DS.
Don’t have it

The motion controls in ssa explains why the controls in ssa hd has weird controls because they intended for the game to have motion controls
Bob's very kind download code is the only reason I'm still playing trap team tbh
i missed it, it wont work anymore because the wii u eshop shut down, i could have played it on the superior device for my replay im doing but i was a few months too late, i didnt download it in time, its so over
Swap force wii was my childhood, and I'm only going to be playing the xbox version for the first time in a couple of days
Getting a new video here is always a great time
I remember I use to grow up with the Wii versions of these game before I switched to the Wii U fro SF and TT
And god I don’t think I will ever go back
Finally I understand why swap force never sat right with me
I never understood what people meant when they said they liked swap force's graphics but now I understand
I only ever played the wii version which as you said looks terrible and feels off

when i was a kid i got swap force wii for my birthday, and i thought it was a bad game. then, on christmas, we got an xbox 360, and i got a new copy of the game for it. it was actually mindblowing seeing everything in the cloudbreak isles clearly. for a long time it was my least favorite game in the series because of the bad taste the wii version left in my mouth
My favorite Skylanders game is Skylanders swap force, and the only version I always played was on the Wii. Now that’s saying something
My 2007 Wii runs trap team fine lmao but I think swap force is by far the most awful… but I have so much nostalgia for it’s bad graphics, I had no idea that swap force didn’t actually look like how it did, I just thought the games graphics were always this bad

You finally uploaded yay 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
i swear krypt just goes to old person yoga for 2 months straight after coping with having to play swap force on the wii
Yeah I played the first four games on the wii. They are one of my best childhood memories.
I grew up on the Wii version of Swap Force and Trap Team and never knew that there was such a big difference in graphics and level design until this video and now I want to buy the Xbox one version for my series x so I can see what I missed and experience the better parts of the game.
Good to see another video
to summarize the video;
Spyros Adventure: the Wii version is technically the superior version but it's still up to preference. (HD version has slight differences)
Giants: the HD version is basically just an updated port of the Wii verion which makes it superior but the original is still very playable with almost no differences aside from graphics and frame rate (Wii is 30fps while HD is 60fps)
Swap Force and Trap Team: The Wii version is a downgraded port of the HD game and is VASTLY inferior in every way, you can easily find a used copy of the HD versions for under $15 (take note for Xbox versions, you need a specific Xbox portal as they are not universal like Wii, WiiU, PS3, and PS4 portals)
Superchargers: completely different game that has no relation to the original game whatsoever, probably for the better (3DS version is probably better since you wouldn't need the portal and the Skylanders bucket nearby 24/7)
Imaginators:
I actually played all the skylanders games in the Wii until I got a Wii U, back then I was too young to even notice the bad graphics, but I’ve started a replay of the HD version of spyros adventure cause I played it for the first time 12 years ago and damn it feels good! Especially using modern day controllers on it, but I had no clue they made Wii U and a PC/Mac disk port! I wonder how good it runs
I noticed the graphics on said Franchise and Cars 2:The Video Game when I was young. I do the Xbox port of Cars 2 on my Series X
Babe wake up Krypt Krusher just posted
So, only Spyro's Adventure, Giants, Swap Force, Trap Team and Superchargers were available on Wii and not Imaginators! Well obviously since the Wii was discontinued ever since.
superchargers was barley available on the wii it's a different game
I know how to surpass the dreamcatcher crashing glitch on the wii for trap team. if you take too long to complete the level, the level will crash at the end, but if you don't doddle and complete the level fast enough, it won't crash.
the fact that it crashes at all is a problem, but this is a workaround that works for me. just complete the level semiquickly (you don't have to be speedrunner perfect, you just can't spend a lot of time goofing around and need to collect the collectables in an efficient fashion)
12:31 By the way, the Wii U version does map the tertiary attack to the c button, so, I guess vicarious visions likes to bully poor people.
I have only ever played Skylanders on the Wii, it was some of the most fun I've ever had
