tips: 1. ive found that to get the most power out of the flintlock without it exploding you want to fill it with gun powder for about 5 seconds 2. you can explore during the night by lighting a plank or torch and just carrying it around with you to fend off the beasts 3. (SPOILER WARNING) you can find a holster for the flintlock that carries the powder and ammo too, its a permanent upgrade so even if you die you will still have the holster Its found in the captains quarters of the shipwreck
@melonboi186 Given how the rest of the game is, I doubt they'd implement an immersion breaking player model. And if they did, I'm sure they'd listen to players for improvement.
I have watched both your Bootstrap Island videos and I have a few tips for you, I will try to group them by category. *FIRE:* • The _Red Moss_ that is found growing on certain trees can be used as tinder for starting fires. • You can use an unloaded _Pistol_ or _Musket_ to start fires if you cannot find any rocks, just cock the hammer and hold it close to the tinder when you pull the trigger, it may require a few tries to get the angle correct. Torches can also be lit this way. • Alternatively, if you don't have a pistol and only one rock, you can also pick up a _Lock_ broken from a chest to strike sparks. • If you have to choose between _Bark Scrap, Red Moss,_ or _Coconuts_ for tinder grab the coconuts. Not only does the husk give you four (4) pieces of tinder, it also provides food and drink that you can use during the night. • You cannot use _Wet Wood or Wet Coconut Husks_ to start a fire, but you can place them on an already burning fire, it will dry then ignite normally. • If it is nearing night and you have access to a supply of _Coconuts_ but cannot find wood, you can start a fire with just husks and continue to add more husks throughout the night, the husk burns quickly so do not add it all at once. The fire will not be very big, but it is better than no fire at all. *FOOD - WATER* • You can poke holes in a _Coconut_ with the _Knife_ instead of cracking it open to ensure that you do not spill any of the liquid inside. • A _Bottle_ holds _multiple coconuts_ worth of liquid, simply poke holes in the coconut and pour it into an open bottle. • _Cooked Meats_ provide the best hunger regeneration, this applies to _Clams_ too even though they can be eaten raw. • You can stab multiple _Fish_ or _Crabs_ on a single _Thin Stick_ while out collecting them for food and cook them all at once. I believe four (4) can reliably fit a stick, make sure to hold it upright or they slide off. • All three (3) _Monster_ (Bat, Dog, Lizard) types can be eaten, after killing them you have to repeatedly stab them with the knife until a piece of meat pops out of them. *WEAPONS* • The _Pistol_ can explode out of your hand if you over fill it with _Black Powder._ It will fly behind you and is easily lost. I believe the _Musket_ does the same, but have not personally tested it. • Both the pistol and musket must be _Dried_ after they get _Wet,_ they will not be able to fire immediately after swimming. They dry over time, but can also be laid next to a fire to dry quicker. Laying them _on the fire_ however will cause them to go off if loaded. • Both firearms only use _One Bullet_ at a time, you cannot load multiple balls to act as a shotgun (the extras will just roll out of the barrel). • The _Powder Flask_ and _Bullet Box_ both eventually run out, but this is easy to manage if you replace them each time you open a chest that has a fresh supply. *GENERAL TIPS* • _Health_ regenerates slowly _over time._ I believe the speed is tied to your thirst and hunger levels, but have not confirmed or not. • You can turn on a _Narrator Voice_ which will give hints occasionally and provide you with warnings when your _Hunger, Thirst,_ or _Heath_ get low.
One thing i was really surprised to see is the wildlife in this game, instead of using Wolves or something similar they used Thylacines (which are not dogs btw, they're Carnivorous marsupials that went extinct around 1936,although there are people who believe It may still exist in really remote places, mostly in Tasmania) Anyways,i Just really wasn't expecting this and its really cool seeing Animals like these being represented in games.
@@Leonardo-co4dv at First i tought that the Island may be Located Near Australia because of the monitor lizards, Thylacines, the bats (may be Carnivorous flying Foxes) But then there's the Shoebill birds, which are african.
Only in Tasmania, they were never on the mainland. The common name is Tasmanian tigers, that's what everyone calls them. Noone calls them by their species title. They are hoping to bring them back to life through cloning.
0:24 I see a crab and a stick. All I can think of is the meme with the guy fighting crabs, lobsters, or some other kind of crustacean by beating them with a stick.
By the way in the gameplay settings you can change the HUD to display on your left hand like a watch instead of constantly being in your view. Makes it a lot nicer to watch and more immersive for you too.
I love this series!! ❤❤ also you needed to lay the gun down and go get the powder in one hand and the bullets in the other and bring it to your base. 6:36
The narrator gives hints on how to progress in the story, also bigger fire keep them away more, and you can't be slow around mid day or maybe a quarter of the day left start making a fire, set a goal for each day, also make a fire out of nearly every piece of wood in the area
Best advice I’ve seen with the flintlock is to take a half coconut, put the bullets in it, and put the powder on top (the whole thing don’t dump it) and then balance the gun on top carry all that in one hand and a torch in the other lol
Fun fact those dogs are based on a type of Dingo that is now extinct (it wasn't in the 1700's tho) so most likely you're in the pacific or the australian continent. That's really cool!
Swing that damn torch lol, and you have a rock behind your camp to get on. This game looks so fricken cool. Thinking like it's really life or death would make us make better decisions.
the more interactive, detailed, and physics-based these playgrounds get, the more entertaining to watch they will be - to the point of like reality shows that let people do heinous, funny, and bizarre performances, or even live improv / plays
this is such a interesting perspective, i like your style, imagine a future where they use ur chill but informatively logical truthful facts, but for other things such as welding, or coding, or any trade or skill etc. this online type of teaching is very much engaging and engaged 1 on 1 it seems, it would revolutionize training for many applicable skills and develop new ones

Yeah, no, you must not have tried many games, what part did you enjoy? Dying on day one or two? Over and over? Did you even find the tribes? This game is doo doo
So, I know there is an inventory system in this game, I'm curious if requires you to find pouches and holsters for stuff. Curious if you can craft them or if you have to find them in chests. You can light fires by just pulling back the hammer and firing, it creates a spark and lights tinder. Powder is not needed. When I was playing this game I just never went anywhere without pistol in hand to light fires. Unfortunately after surviving for 24 days I never found anything interesting on the island. It felt like the same handful of areas were copy pasted over and over. I'll come back when there's more to do.
The game looks gorgeous and really fun but I just wish they gave us a body instead of floating hands :( floating hands is such an immersion killer for me
did you noticed that after you drink the coconut water, if you keep it next to your mouth you start eating the coconut? you were throwing it away each time lol haha
You were a pirate and I know where you are. I recognise those animals and they are from Tasmania which is a small island near the foot of Australia. Those dogs are an extinct species called a and it appears they've added Komodo dragons as well. Nice to see that they've based it off a real place. Also, don't know if they've added these but look out for those Tasmanian Devils. They may be scavengers, but they sure are fierce.

fun fact those dogs actuali existed some time ago. those are tasmanian tigers and is so cool that they added then as a enemy because they were kind of scary. sadly the specie is stincted for human causes
