IRAN and US were two best allies those days, and the world was a much better place due to that alliance, Iran was the cause for stability in the region and maybe the whole World. If that continued, none of these problems today would exist. Let's hope we can bring that alliance back, surely after the eradication of the Mullah's regime.

Huge thanks to the LBJ library for sharing this amazing conversation. A reminiscent of delightful days when genuine friendship and close cooperation existed between two countries rather than pointless animosity. The late Shah was completely convinced and resolute to bring Iran among the first-tier industrial and and economic powers of the world and the progress that has been made under Shah's leadership was promising a very bright future for Iranians. Unfortunately the Islamic winter crushed all the hopes and banished all the plans and threw Iran to medieval era.
I pray that ruthless and backward Islamic pseudo-republic which rules against the very will of its people goes away very soon and our friendship with the US would rebound again. God bless Iran and may the late Shah and President Johnson rest in peace.

A civilized, polite and meaningful conversation between two statesmen who knew what politics meant and how it worked.

You're damn right. Just compare late Shah to Iran's so-called president. Should we laugh or cry?

We have to accept those days are gone and look forward to the future and deal with existing problem not to forget it can be done if only we use our brain not by words.

I always enjoy to get access to historical facts first hand. This is great.
Anyway, It was so clear to hear who is leading and who is following, in which Shah basically was told by Jonson what to do in Alger. That was disgraceful as Iranian to listen to this conversation. Thank to God that those times are passed.
