So glad there are still people who remember this series. I have been playing this game on and off since i was 7 or 8. 13 years later and i finally fully 100% completed it. Now i need to play Ultimate Carnage which is just the second game but better lol. Also yeah, there is a piss yellow filter that you can't remove unless you use a mod from the steam workshop. There isn't a huge difference in visuals, at least to me, but i still think it's a good mod to have. Another thing, i had to look it up because the game never tells you this, for the mini games like high jump, bowling, etc. after when you are about to launch DON'T hold up because it ruins the momentum you get. You need to not press any directional buttons while launching
Comment for the algorithm... You should check out a game called Vanishing Point (Not at all related to the wonderful '71 movie staring Barry Newman of the same name), it has a really unique way of dealing with the races, you compete in a time bracket as opposed to directly with the cars on field. As well the stunt portion of the game is quite fun, and the physics are solid realism with a tinge of arcade.

If you like flatout then you'll love wreckfest which i do highly recommend 😊
