- come with me on my first hike alone to a fire lookout!! Even though I was nervous, I had a really good time and can’t wait to do more stuff like this in the future of my ~solo van life~ journey :))

Glad to see you "Step Out" of your norm. I have always wondered why you never venture very far from your van. There is just so much to see out there. I cant wait to get out there, Texas has been 110* and I have amongst other things POTS which makes it so much worse. I need to get the heck out of this climate at least during summer months.
Thank you! it was nice to do something different. Even though I’m in a van, I’m somehow still a homebody. Oh goodness, 110 degrees?! It would be impossible to do anything outside! I hope you can get out whenever it cools down
@@madilynndawn ya, 110 degrees. Its horrible, I sit in front of a small air conditioner in my kitchen from when I get up until I go to bed. The rest of the house is scorching hot I keep the kitchen separated with a blanket to help keep the heat out of it. I have lived here my entire life but I just cant handle it anymore. I plan on moving to cooler climate ASAP. Anyway, yes, it was nice to see you get out.
Honestly, It is all I think about doing now. I waited too long even though I am only 50 I have a lot of health issues and I am no longer able to do the big hikes to unbelievable scenic views but making an effort to do things out there will be a heck of a lot better than sitting at this table waiting to rot in the heat I guarantee ya :) For now, all you folks who are getting out there before its too late is what drives me. Take care out there but live it as much as you can. Dang, sorry, I just kept typing ;)

So proud of you for getting rid of your anxiety and taking the journey on your own. 👍 I hope to see you taking more of these excursions in the future. If I tried that same uphill hike, it would have taken me all day to get to the lookout. 😞 I ain't the hiker I used to be; age has taken its toll on me.

I love the whole Seattle area. If this was shot around 8/19 then you'll probably know about the fires in eastern WA. Just wild weather with Hurricane Hillary and the Lahaina, Canadian and WA fires.
I have been reading (and seeing the smoke in WA) about all the insanity going on. :( It’s hard to watch people’s lives, homes, and nature be completely destroyed. I was so sad when I saw what happened to the banyan tree (and all of Lahaina) 😔

I can relate to always leaving at rush hour when I'm traveling places spontaneously. It's like, oh yeah, people still drive to work places at common hours. Must remember. haha And congrats on the first fire lookout hike! I have still never been to a fire lookout, but Rosa inspired me to do that, too. :) Maybe in the fall.

I reckon more people should document their #travel #hiking #lifestyle for safety I had my van stolen from work but I only stayed in it a couple of times after partying but mostly used the to transport my motorbike to cool places to ride
