Watched both Zach and Gentry's freestyles for a few times. Believe me Gentry has improved so much since last year Cal States, but in my honest opinion, Zach deserved 1st. He's way better than Gentry in term of tech, with some fresh, mind-blowing concepts and elements and he didn't even use any horizontals Either way both freestyles are brilliant, i enjoy them so much. Well done Zach!
He pulled a gentry! Gentry won PNWR and then used the same freestyle at cal states and got 2nd place there. Zach Gormley pulled a gentry... Haha...get it?
Zach made a couple mistakes. Gentry went very clean. I think, regardless of your personal taste, the judges made the right call. That's just how the cards fell that day, and consistency is something we favor in our yoyoers.
in gentrys freestyle alot of the audience over exaggerated for hin still scream kids probaby screaming what what when he wasnt on stage yet...its probably cause all of the California yoyo community like him cause he really represents california and how the judges will have to pick gentry cause live in CA .which i think is pretty wack considering that he had an advantage and zach gormley didnt his performance had hard tricks based on concepts rather than gentrys freestyle...zach shouldve Won
