Leon County TX Master Gardener Kathy Choate talks about Cut Flowers. Planting a cut flower garden can be a delightful and rewarding endeavor. Whether you are a seasoned garderer or a beginner, Kathy presents steps to guide you in planning and creating your own beautiful cut flower garden. Types of flowers include: Coreopsis, Cosmos, Zinnias, Marigolds, Bachelor Buttons, Sunflowers, Amaranth, Tickseed, Roses, Tulips, Asters, Mums, Salvia & Sage. For appearance and aroma you might want to include: herbs, basil, oregano, parsley, lavender, rosemary, and/or garlic in your arrangements. Note that flowers suitable for displaying in your home attract bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, moths and night pollinators in the garden.
