Michaels been pretty open about it as well as Tom. He’s talked about it on multiple different pods in length. Stays adamant on it being an absolutely wild situation. Can tell when she comes up or the subject that he really thinks about it still. They weren’t good friends off the show but it was a coworker you worked closely with who you thought you knew and saw this other side of. One of the most interesting things about the show for sure. She’s also so good in the show I wouldn’t want them not talking about her.
They don't talk about her as much as I would like. :) There have been some episodes that were great showcases of the actress and the character, and it seemed like they just kind of glossed over her performance completely.
@@MrDooteronomy It's sticky because some people are in the camp of separate the art from the artist, for others they can't. I'm in the case by case basis camp. It probably gets viewed as being hypocritical. But it's an emotional response they don't always make sense. In her case it helps that I never saw her in anything else, I never even saw her do interviews. It is easier for me to think of her as Chloe because of it. Then there are others who are members of a certain "club" that is tax exempt. Doing horrible things inside areas they've walled off. To be able to take their more poor members, treating them as indentured servants. Separert the parents and their kids. I can't buy a ticket to their celebrities new movies. I feel like I'm helping them keep Slavics (censored). Then you have someone like Mel Gibson who has delivered great material over the years that I enjoyed growing up. Until I learned about what he was like behind the scenes. I hoped he had become more mellow with age, saw him on Rogan he's gotten more unhinged. I'm not gonna be able to watch the follow up to passion after that. He had moments of things where he sounded perfectly reasonable. But it was like a broken clock bring right twice a day.

Some time ago he popped up in my IG feed in a promo for LOCKE&KEY - I was happy to come across him again (had not thought about him for years) and he also got me into watching LOCKE&KEY, which I loved. Some time later I talked to him about this then new podcast in the comment section of one of his posts, and I think he said he would be glad to participate. Makes me so happy to see it finally happened. Lovely guy with a great family.

Oliver Queen's introduction, in retrospect, is one of the most important TV moments of the last 20 or so years. Think about it, without him in Smallville, there wouldn't have been the Arrow TV show, which spawned almost 10 other TV shows. Crazy to think how important that moment is in retrospect
Well, let's not forget that Arrow was just a "Batman-with-a-bow" show. They weren't really interested in Green Arrow because they just ripped off Batman storylines all the time. What Smallville should have done was had Gotham be a companion show with teenage Bruce Wayne, which was The WB's original plan back in the 2000s, but Warner Bros. wouldn't let them at the time because of Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins, but then they just let Gotham air on Fox Network three years after Smallville went off the air, which made no sense.
Really enjoyed the beginning of the episode with Clark sneezing and the barn door flying off! Thought the scene where Clark sneezed with Chloe was great, loved her reaction 😂. I also loved the introduction of Oliver Queen! Honestly, I liked how Smallville chose to develop Clark's super breath with a common cold. Thanks for having Aaron on and for another episode ❤️
This happened to me once… I felt like such a piece of trash and bashed myself for years, but was thankful I didn’t hurt anyone. Tom, if you happen to see this, please don’t think that way. We all make mistakes, it’s natural. Hang in there and get back on track. Take care of that beautiful family, man. We (us that know reality and making mistakes) believe in you!
And having the internet think they have the right to judge and coment on a private situation might be the reason he drinks. 😂 I don't disagree driving while drinking is not a good idea. But unless your carying a blood testing kit with you some of these areas have absurd restrictions. So bad you could look at a beer and have a higher blood alcohol content. Its not for me to judge. Its for mine to work out and realize it has nothing to do with us.

This is definitely an underrated episode... We see Clark and Chloe's friendship and the trust that they have in each other... Of course, I always enjoy the scenes with Lex and Lionel and the dry humor in the jabs that they throw at each other lol... This is also an introduction to both Lois' interest in journalism and the introduction to Oliver Queen... Also, Lana grilling Clark and Clark having to play defense to keep her safe... I also love Lana confronting Lex about the cameras in her room and Lex letting her know that he'll take the camera out of her room, but the other cameras stay to keep both of them safe... When Lex hits Lana with the line: "If that's too much for you, you're free to make other arrangements... Just know that this is how I live my life", you could feel the genuine vulnerability as he still has good in him... And of course, Clark saving Lex and Lana using his super breath to extinguish the fire 🔥 was a cool scene... And to do it, using Batman stealth skills was cool also 😎... All in all, I give this episode 🌹1/2 (1.5 roses)... #LoveThePodcastFellas #TalkvilleWednesdays
Justin Hartley's introduction in this episode as Oliver Queen was quite a sweet one. His scenes with John Glover as Lionel were very good, playing off one another. Was also interesting how Oliver was the one behind Lex's kidnapping to find out what happened to him when he was possessed by Zod. Love the final shot of him hitting the Daily Planet globe with his bow and arrow. Still epic, showing his archury skills right off the bat.
Aaron Ashmore! Glad to see you guys didn't waste any time inviting him. He's a terrific actor and a cool guy to listen to. It's kind of odd to see him invited for an episode he wasn't in and maybe the interview would have been better suited for last week, but I'm guessing the producers thought "Talkville Zod" was already loaded. Here's hoping Justin Hartley gets invited soon!

Hello everyone! If I may put my two cents about Mr. Welling's incident: I truly believe that if you are not walking in anyone's shoes, then we should refrain to formulate a public opinion. I can tell you that I wouldn't like anybody to speculate about me for the simple reasons that for one, you don't know me, second, you weren't there. Whatever consequence Mr. Welling is going to face, if any, it's his business and the people, if any, that were involved and the ones that will be affected by what happened. Like one of the gentleman said here: It's how you come back from a negative experience that makes a difference.
Can't go wrong with both them being known for superhero stuff! Shawn with X-Men, and both of them for Smallville! Though, I was first introduced to Shawn thanks to Animorphs. Knew that he had a twin brother since then, but had never seen Aaron in anything until Smallville.
@ I've heard of Killjoys but have not seen it. As for Animorphs, I haven't watched it since I was a kid, but I remember enjoying it for what it was.The books were honestly better. I should reread the books for old-time's sake. I'm currently doing that with my Goosebumps books.
This episode is so memorable. I remember when it premiered it seemed like yesterday that’s how I know I’m getting old, but I’ve always loved Smallville and this is one of my favorite episodes. You’ve always done a great reviewing these episodes. Keep up the good work.

Reading some of the comments about Tom's situation makes you realize how delusional the internet had made a lot of people. Acting like they are moral authorities who can pass judgment on any mistake a celebrity makes and then demand accountability for it. Grow up. This isn't someone who enslaved and abused women. It's someone who for the first time in his life was arrested for driving slightly over the alcohol limit. As if none of you ever have.
Seriously. I don’t think any of these moral authorities would appreciate their worst moments being put out for others to comment on. He maybe had like 2, 3 drinks max. An overworked, exhausted driver on only a few hours of sleep is more dangerous on the road at that point

Nice to hear that Tom & Michael both enjoyed working with Lochlyn Munro! It's great to hear everyone share positive things about "Sneeze", and Clark's power is known as Super Breath. Clark didn't sneeze at the end of the episode to save Lana and Lex, he used his new power. Lex's verdict about the cameras at the end is the best decision Lex ever made, and I'm grateful that the guys addressed this issue. The irony is that the cameras never caught Clark's sudden appearances. Great scenes selected from Ryan/Kyle for an awesome episode! Congratulations To Starla! Lastly but most importantly, I hope everything will be okay with Tom.
Well it was something too serious, it was also a completely avoidable stupid mistake. And no, it does not happen to the best of us. It's one thing to have a problem that affects just you, but to endanger other people... super messed up.
Idk if it's true but apparently it only was a little over legal limits so could have easily thought he waited long enough after a drink to drive. How are you to know your BAC without testing it. You can only go on your feeling and obviously if you feel fine you're gonna go 😅
Great episide, guys! Thanks so much for making my Wednesdays a bit brighter. I really appreciated the funny moments in the podcast today. The whole section where the word blowing kept getting used...i laughed so loud I scared my 13 year old cat. Thanks. LOL. Anyway, this was a good episode. Everything from the fact that Clark caught a phantom zone dimensional cold that lead to discovering his Super breath ability (no, not super blow 😂) to how Clark's super sneeze in the barn blew the door off, which jump started Lois' journalism career... That was cool. Loved the intro of Oliver Queen. I also didn't realize he was responsible for Lex's abduction until the end (back when I watched the show for the first time.) I liked the moments in the Daily Planet - Chloe dealing with Clark's sneezing, and that quick moment when Clark pranked her - that's always funny. I'm glad Lex reassured Lana that the camera would be gone from her room by the end of he episode... I also thought Lana was a tad salty…. But , I understand why she would question Clark's motives. I'm not sure that she's trying to sell the idea that she's moved on...or maybe shes trying to convince herself that she moved on. Later, you'll see that maybe she hasn't moved on, but things get complicated due to certain...complications. Thats the best way I can explain it without spoilers. LOL The super breath save at the end was cool indeed. That fire went away right quick. I also love that Lois finally got her first newspaper job. ❤ The Inquisitor, not the Planet, but you gotta start somewhere. She found her calling. Go Lois! 😁❤️ I also liked how Clark's Super breath moved the storm clouds away. I absolutely adored your segment with Aaron Ashmore. Great interview. 👍👍 Shout out to Patron Starla! You know, one of my favorite special features to watch on the Blu-Rays of the show is where Aaron sits down and talks with Marc McClure, Sam Huntington, and Jack Larson. Such a fun roundtable discussion about the character of Jimmy Olsen and their individual experiences playing the character. Aaron's take on the character is quite endearing and went to places on the show that you've never seen Jimmy take on. So in short, I really love Aaron's version of Jimmy Olsen.
I just hate what they did with his character. Killed him off then brought in a lookalike brother WITH THE SAME NAME for the series finale? Come on guys! 😒
@@PhysicalMediaPreventsWea-bx1zm I've always found the inclusion of Jimmy Olsen in the show interesting because they have always bent the mythology of Superman with the show, but never outright broke it. Jimmy Olsen has always been known as Superman's pal, but with Aaron's Jimmy we never really get that feeling from him as the show goes on. When he does die and we see his funeral, we see his tombstone read "Henry James Olsen," a Jimmy Olsen who doesn't actually exist in Superman lore. The Jimmy Olsen from Superman lore is named James Bartholomew Olsen, and it's heavily implied that Jimmy's little brother (bowtie included!) who inherits his camera is James Bartholomew Olsen. So it's really more complex than just a brother having the same name. It's honestly an interesting web of fabric when you think about it.

The whole cast was terrific, but I always thought and I still think till this very day….and no no disrespect to anyone, but you were the very best Lex Luthor in any medium ever. Great to see Aaron! He looks amazing. I was gutted when his character was so cruelly killed off. He was the only one to figure out everybody. But then the last episode of season 10 we saw him again as Jimmy's younger brother which I thought was cheap. But I guess it had to be that way as we all know Jimmy Olsen was a very young and impressionable photographer.
I listened to this episode this morning at work and it was one of the best! So good having Aaron on the pod, and Michael, Tom, so entertaining AS always. Much love, guys.
Get well soon? It's not like he is ill or something. He was out, had a few and instead of taking a Uber he drove, nobody got hurt but got a ticket for driving under the influence. I'm sure next time he will have someone else drive him.
The best thing to do is set off a small portion to remove the elephant out of the room. And take responsibility for doing something dumb. Unless what I've read is a lie. He was 0.1 point over the legal limit. We can't have difference of rules between legal limits. But considering his size and that he was caught after having been to a restaurant. Food absorbs alcohol, if you take those things into accounts. At 0.8 rather than the 0.7 legal limit. It's more dangerous to drive when you are tired. Not saying he did a good thing, and being booked and having to pay a fine is correct. He's not an alcoholic far as I know. Where many high functioning alcoholics who drinks every single day. Are dangerous to be on the road unless they've have a certain amount of drink. Because they go through withdrawal. For them it's scary because they can drink at levels that would make you and me pass out. For them it doesn't give them e buzz it makes them neutral.
I love Jimmy, one of my favorite characters. I cry like a baby when he died 💔. Im really sorry for Tom, we all make mistakes, but for him being a celebrity... not easy. I hate the coments no about what happend, but talking about he looks. I met him two months ago in Germany and OMG he is very handsome and has a beautiful personality. Inside, Outside Top. I see many people doing everything to become famous, but I have always thought that fame has a price, sometimes too high. A mistake is enough and he is not forgiven, on the contrary, glory is overturned into fury. I continue to esteem Mister Welling, no one can be perfect.
Loved this episode. 3 roses for me. Tom what was it like to act out sneezes like that? lol 😂 This episode was so enjoyable for me to watch. It was lighthearted and a much needed palette cleanser from the heavy season opener and finale. Lois teasing Clark was so funny. I loved it when Clark sneezed the barn door off and it landed right where Lois was jogging. lol 😂 I also loved how Chloe was going overboard to protect Clark’s secret knowing Lois wanted to investigate how that happened to her. “Uh oh does Clarkie have the sniffles.” lol 😂 burst out laughing at that scene. Lana’s anger towards Clark is understandable. Ryan you’re not the only person who feels sorry for Lana. Many in the fandom did at the time and many still do to this day. Many were angry with Clark for gaslighting Lana with lame excuses and didn’t blame her for going to Lex for comfort. The thing is Clark lying to her is necessary. Real heroes don’t need to explain themselves. Lana should have just been grateful that Clark saved her life repeatedly and gone about her business. Like Lois. Lois never once has questioned how Clark has been there. Lana henpecks him in being honest yet when it’s her turn to do the same in the future she starts keeping things from him then uses the whole “I was trying to protect you.” Excuse. Clark doesn’t need protecting. He needs someone by his side to help him soar to new heights. Lana sadly although lovely in many ways represented the weight that was always going to hold Clark back from becoming the person the world needed. Johnathon and Martha knew it. Chloe knew it. It takes Clark a long time to realize the person he always needed by his side was Lois. I’m a massive Clark and Chloe fan and loved their scenes in the episode. The scene where he sneezes at the DP was hilarious. I love how he playfully teases Chloe by pretending to sneeze and she throws herself over that stack of papers lol 😂 seasons 8 and 9 lacked a lot of these Clark/Chloe moments. It’s clear to me Clark is just so comfortable around Chloe. Now that they’ve both matured and are no longer in high school they are so in sync. Chloe telling Clark to blow was smart. Chloe is extremely intelligent and is always thinking on her feet. Love that Clark discovered a new power lol 😂 Imagine what it would be like if he had gas lol 😂 What would happen if a Kryptonian had gas? lol 😂 The whole city was stink lol 😂 Lois doing work for the Inquisitor is foreshadowing her future at the Daily Planet which is a nice touch. Lex being captured was a great side story. At least that’s how I saw it. Lana and him working together represents the idea that they are both alike in so many ways and much to the dismay of the Clana fandom are more suited for each other than Clark and Lana are. The guest star did his job so well. Clark showing up to save Lex and Lana and not taking credit for it is just another reason why Clark is special. He’s watching the woman he loves in the arms of his former best friend. Sacrifice sometimes is necessary and Clark is living that every day and that’s why I admire him so much. As does Chloe who recognizes that as well. I love the scene where Clark and Chloe are in the loft and they’re getting ready to go the lake. Clark blows the clouds ☁️ away and Lois is looking up in amazement. Chloe touches his shoulder and looks up at him with such wonder and more importantly love. ❤️ Yes Bryce you mentioned Clark last week was trying to dodge another love triangle between her and Jimmy. But the truth is many in the fandom can see an attachment on Clark’s part this season. He’s always felt more at ease around Chloe. Even when they were in high school. She’s proven to be an ally he can’t afford to lose. It’s my personal belief Clark feels something more for her than just friendship and a “side kick.” Chloe’s face just lights up every time she’s around him. She loves his so much. She doesn’t have that same facial expression around Jimmy IMO. Love the last scene with Oliver Queen/Green Arrow. It was the perfect introduction to his character. Please have him on the podcast. Jensen Ackles guest starred on his show Tracker. What was it like to work with Justin Tom? I hear he’s a great guy. Please have Justin on the Podcast! So happy to see Aaron Ashmore on the podcast!
Of course they'll "reverse course" and "retcon" the relationship but Lex and Lana are the perfect Villainous Couple. Going back to the days of Lana talking to her parents at the graveyard and Lex teaching Lana to fight and interfering with her relationship with Jason Teague; Lana dwells on the past (she therefore can be vindictive even though we haven't seen that side of her), she over time has become paranoid of the meteor freaks, she is proactive (takes nothing lying down), through her proximity to Lex she has become cunning and develops underhanded tactics. Lana is Lex's equal I think it would have made sense that Lana becomes repossessed by Isabel and Lex becomes Zod's vessel again but permanently. We get a glimpse of the Chloe/Clark vs Lana/Lex potential in Season 7 Episode "Wrath" and in that episode we see Chloe call out Lana, her ISIS foundation (yes you read that correctly), along with the threat/promise from Chloe "I'm not going to let that happen" and Lana's response with her Wrathful Eyes. But then it's all about "victim Lana" before and after that episode. What a waste. Showing a successful relationship and toxic relationship and how constructive one is and how destructive the other is would have been an amazing story/thread for the show. This episode is 2 Roses. It's essential but it's a tease of greater things to come: Green Arrow.
For me, Aaron Ashmore was a great Jimmy Olson. Can't imagine another actor in the role, at least on Smallville. I really hated it when he leaves the show. 😢 buddy!!!!

I remember when this aired, I was like, FINALLY! He gets his Super Breath! Nice Surprise to start Season 6 and a great way to explain it having just left the Phantom Zone and possibly getting a Kryptonian Allergy in which, as we've seen in the past his body responds accordingly to the situation.

Well, she was a main character on the show from the premier to the finale. I don't think that not talking about Chloe is an option.
They separate the character from the actor, what she did in real life doesn’t affect the character in the show
Michaels been pretty open about it as well as Tom. He’s talked about it on multiple different pods in length. Stays adamant on it being an absolutely wild situation. Can tell when she comes up or the subject that he really thinks about it still. They weren’t good friends off the show but it was a coworker you worked closely with who you thought you knew and saw this other side of. One of the most interesting things about the show for sure. She’s also so good in the show I wouldn’t want them not talking about her.
They don't talk about her as much as I would like. :) There have been some episodes that were great showcases of the actress and the character, and it seemed like they just kind of glossed over her performance completely.
@@MrDooteronomy It's sticky because some people are in the camp of separate the art from the artist, for others they can't. I'm in the case by case basis camp. It probably gets viewed as being hypocritical. But it's an emotional response they don't always make sense. In her case it helps that I never saw her in anything else, I never even saw her do interviews. It is easier for me to think of her as Chloe because of it. Then there are others who are members of a certain "club" that is tax exempt. Doing horrible things inside areas they've walled off. To be able to take their more poor members, treating them as indentured servants. Separert the parents and their kids. I can't buy a ticket to their celebrities new movies. I feel like I'm helping them keep Slavics (censored). Then you have someone like Mel Gibson who has delivered great material over the years that I enjoyed growing up. Until I learned about what he was like behind the scenes. I hoped he had become more mellow with age, saw him on Rogan he's gotten more unhinged. I'm not gonna be able to watch the follow up to passion after that. He had moments of things where he sounded perfectly reasonable. But it was like a broken clock bring right twice a day.

Oliver Queen's introduction, in retrospect, is one of the most important TV moments of the last 20 or so years. Think about it, without him in Smallville, there wouldn't have been the Arrow TV show, which spawned almost 10 other TV shows. Crazy to think how important that moment is in retrospect

Well, let's not forget that Arrow was just a "Batman-with-a-bow" show. They weren't really interested in Green Arrow because they just ripped off Batman storylines all the time. What Smallville should have done was had Gotham be a companion show with teenage Bruce Wayne, which was The WB's original plan back in the 2000s, but Warner Bros. wouldn't let them at the time because of Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins, but then they just let Gotham air on Fox Network three years after Smallville went off the air, which made no sense.
Really enjoyed the beginning of the episode with Clark sneezing and the barn door flying off! Thought the scene where Clark sneezed with Chloe was great, loved her reaction 😂. I also loved the introduction of Oliver Queen! Honestly, I liked how Smallville chose to develop Clark's super breath with a common cold. Thanks for having Aaron on and for another episode ❤️
This happened to me once… I felt like such a piece of trash and bashed myself for years, but was thankful I didn’t hurt anyone. Tom, if you happen to see this, please don’t think that way. I don't disagree driving while drinking is not a good idea. But unless your carying a blood testing kit with you some of these areas have absurd restrictions. One of my favorite lines by Lois is in Crimson…. “Lana’s your past, I’m your future”.😃 I jumped up and down with excitement when she said that when the episode first aired.😃
This is definitely an underrated episode... We see Clark and Chloe's friendship and the trust that they have in each other... Of course, I always enjoy the scenes with Lex and Lionel and the dry humor in the jabs that they throw at each other lol... This is also an introduction to both Lois' interest in journalism and the introduction to Oliver Queen... Also, Lana grilling Clark and Clark having to play defense to keep her safe... I also love Lana confronting Lex about the cameras in her room and Lex letting her know that he'll take the camera out of her room, but the other cameras stay to keep both of them safe... When Lex hits Lana with the line: "If that's too much for you, you're free to make other arrangements... Just know that this is how I live my life", you could feel the genuine vulnerability as he still has good in him... And of course, Clark saving Lex and Lana using his super breath to extinguish the fire 🔥 was a cool scene... And to do it, using Batman stealth skills was cool also 😎... Justin Hartley's introduction in this episode as Oliver Queen was quite a sweet one. His scenes with John Glover as Lionel were very good, playing off one another. Was also interesting how Oliver was the one behind Lex's kidnapping to find out what happened to him when he was possessed by Zod. Love the final shot of him hitting the Daily Planet globe with his bow and arrow. Still epic, showing his archury skills right off the bat.

I can tell you that I wouldn't like anybody to speculate about me for the simple reasons that for one, you don't know me, second, you weren't there. Whatever consequence Mr. Welling is going to face, if any, it's his business and the people, if any, that were involved and the ones that will be affected by what happened. Like one of the gentleman said here: It's how you come back from a negative experience that makes a difference.

Nice to hear that Tom & Michael both enjoyed working with Lochlyn Munro! It's great to hear everyone share positive things about "Sneeze", and Clark's power is known as Super Breath. Clark didn't sneeze at the end of the episode to save Lana and Lex, he used his new power. Lex's verdict about the cameras at the end is the best decision Lex ever made, and I'm grateful that the guys addressed this issue. The irony is that the cameras never caught Clark's sudden appearances. Great scenes selected from Ryan/Kyle for an awesome episode!

Anyway, this was a good episode. Everything from the fact that Clark caught a phantom zone dimensional cold that lead to discovering his Super breath ability (no, not super blow 😂) to how Clark's super sneeze in the barn blew the door off, which jump started Lois' journalism career... That was cool.
Loved the intro of Oliver Queen. I also didn't realize he was responsible for Lex's abduction until the end (back when I watched the show for the first time.) I liked the moments in the Daily Planet - Chloe dealing with Clark's sneezing, and that quick moment when Clark pranked her - that's always funny.
I'm glad Lex reassured Lana that the camera would be gone from her room by the end of he episode...
I also thought Lana was a tad salty…. But , I understand why she would question Clark's motives. I'm not sure that she's trying to sell the idea that she's moved on...or maybe shes trying to convince herself that she moved on. Later, you'll see that maybe she hasn't moved on, but things get complicated due to certain...complications. Thats the best way I can explain it without spoilers. LOL
The super breath save at the end was cool indeed. That fire went away right quick.
I also love that Lois finally got her first newspaper job. ❤ The Inquisitor, not the Planet, but you gotta start somewhere. She found her calling. Go Lois! 😁❤️ I also liked how Clark's Super breath moved the storm clouds away.

You know, one of my favorite special features to watch on the Blu-Rays of the show is where Aaron sits down and talks with Marc McClure, Sam Huntington, and Jack Larson. Such a fun roundtable discussion about the character of Jimmy Olsen and their individual experiences playing the character. Aaron's take on the character is quite endearing and went to places on the show that you've never seen Jimmy take on. So in short, I really love Aaron's version of Jimmy Olsen.
I just hate what they did with his character. Killed him off then brought in a lookalike brother WITH THE SAME NAME for the series finale? Come on guys! 😒
@@PhysicalMediaPreventsWea-bx1zm I've always found the inclusion of Jimmy Olsen in the show interesting because they have always bent the mythology of Superman with the show, but never outright broke it. Jimmy Olsen has always been known as Superman's pal, but with Aaron's Jimmy we never really get that feeling from him as the show goes on. When he does die and we see his funeral, we see his tombstone read "Henry James Olsen," a Jimmy Olsen who doesn't actually exist in Superman lore. The Jimmy Olsen from Superman lore is named James Bartholomew Olsen, and it's heavily implied that Jimmy's little brother (bowtie included!) who inherits his camera is James Bartholomew Olsen. So it's really more complex than just a brother having the same name. It's honestly an interesting web of fabric when you think about it.

Great to see Aaron! He looks amazing. I was gutted when his character was so cruelly killed off. He was the only one to figure out everybody. But then the last episode of season 10 we saw him again as Jimmy's younger brother which I thought was cheap. But I guess it had to be that way as we all know Jimmy Olsen was a very young and impressionable photographer.
I listened to this episode this morning at work and it was one of the best! So good having Aaron on the pod, and Michael, Tom, so entertaining AS always. Much love, guys.

Get well soon? It's not like he is ill or something. He was out, had a few and instead of taking a Uber he drove, nobody got hurt but got a ticket for driving under the influence. I'm sure next time he will have someone else drive him.

The best thing to do is set off a small portion to remove the elephant out of the room. And take responsibility for doing something dumb. Unless what I've read is a lie. He was 0.1 point over the legal limit. We can't have difference of rules between legal limits. But considering his size and that he was caught after having been to a restaurant. Food absorbs alcohol, if you take those things into accounts. At 0.8 rather than the 0.7 legal limit. It's more dangerous to drive when you are tired.
Not saying he did a good thing, and being booked and having to pay a fine is correct.
He's not an alcoholic far as I know. Where many high functioning alcoholics who drinks every single day. Are dangerous to be on the road unless they've have a certain amount of drink. Because they go through withdrawal. For them it's scary because they can drink at levels that would make you and me pass out. For them it doesn't give them e buzz it makes them neutral.
"Take the big blow for the first time," and Ryan chuckles 😂😂😂 are the reasons why talkville is such a gem of a podcast.

I see many people doing everything to become famous, but I have always thought that fame has a price, sometimes too high. A mistake is enough and he is not forgiven, on the contrary, glory is overturned into fury. I continue to esteem Mister Welling, no one can be perfect.
This was one of the first episodes i remember watching while it aired as a kid. I was 10 in 2006 . Little did i know how much id love the show

This episode was so enjoyable for me to watch. It was lighthearted and a much needed palette cleanser from the heavy season opener and finale.
Lois teasing Clark was so funny. I loved it when Clark sneezed the barn door off and it landed right where Lois was jogging. lol 😂 I also loved how Chloe was going overboard to protect Clark’s secret knowing Lois wanted to investigate how that happened to her. “Uh oh does Clarkie have the sniffles.” lol 😂 burst out laughing at that scene.
Lana’s anger towards Clark is understandable. Ryan you’re not the only person who feels sorry for Lana. Many in the fandom did at the time and many still do to this day. Many were angry with Clark for gaslighting Lana with lame excuses and didn’t blame her for going to Lex for comfort. The thing is Clark lying to her is necessary. Real heroes don’t need to explain themselves. Lana should have just been grateful that Clark saved her life repeatedly and gone about her business. Like Lois. Lois never once has questioned how Clark has been there. Lana henpecks him in being honest yet when it’s her turn to do the same in the future she starts keeping things from him then uses the whole “I was trying to protect you.” Excuse. Clark doesn’t need protecting. He needs someone by his side to help him soar to new heights. Lana sadly although lovely in many ways represented the weight that was always going to hold Clark back from becoming the person the world needed. Johnathon and Martha knew it. Chloe knew it. It takes Clark a long time to realize the person he always needed by his side was Lois.
I’m a massive Clark and Chloe fan and loved their scenes in the episode. The scene where he sneezes at the DP was hilarious. I love how he playfully teases Chloe by pretending to sneeze and she throws herself over that stack of papers lol 😂 seasons 8 and 9 lacked a lot of these Clark/Chloe moments. It’s clear to me Clark is just so comfortable around Chloe. Now that they’ve both matured and are no longer in high school they are so in sync. Chloe telling Clark to blow was smart. Chloe is extremely intelligent and is always thinking on her feet. Love that Clark discovered a new power lol 😂 Imagine what it would be like if he had gas lol 😂 What would happen if a Kryptonian had gas? lol 😂 The whole city was stink lol 😂
Lois doing work for the Inquisitor is foreshadowing her future at the Daily Planet which is a nice touch.
Lex being captured was a great side story. At least that’s how I saw it. Lana and him working together represents the idea that they are both alike in so many ways and much to the dismay of the Clana fandom are more suited for each other than Clark and Lana are. The guest star did his job so well. Clark showing up to save Lex and Lana and not taking credit for it is just another reason why Clark is special. He’s watching the woman he loves in the arms of his former best friend. Sacrifice sometimes is necessary and Clark is living that every day and that’s why I admire him so much. As does Chloe who recognizes that as well.
I love the scene where Clark and Chloe are in the loft and they’re getting ready to go the lake. Clark blows the clouds ☁️ away and Lois is looking up in amazement. Chloe touches his shoulder and looks up at him with such wonder and more importantly love. ❤️ Yes Bryce you mentioned Clark last week was trying to dodge another love triangle between her and Jimmy. But the truth is many in the fandom can see an attachment on Clark’s part this season. He’s always felt more at ease around Chloe. Even when they were in high school. She’s proven to be an ally he can’t afford to lose. It’s my personal belief Clark feels something more for her than just friendship and a “side kick.” Chloe’s face just lights up every time she’s around him. She loves his so much. She doesn’t have that same facial expression around Jimmy IMO.
Love the last scene with Oliver Queen/Green Arrow. It was the perfect introduction to his character. Please have him on the podcast. Jensen Ackles guest starred on his show Tracker. What was it like to work with Justin Tom? I hear he’s a great guy. Please have Justin on the Podcast! So happy to see Aaron Ashmore on the podcast!

Of course they'll "reverse course" and "retcon" the relationship but Lex and Lana are the perfect Villainous Couple. Going back to the days of Lana talking to her parents at the graveyard and Lex teaching Lana to fight and interfering with her relationship with Jason Teague; Lana dwells on the past (she therefore can be vindictive even though we haven't seen that side of her), she over time has become paranoid of the meteor freaks, she is proactive (takes nothing lying down), through her proximity to Lex she has become cunning and develops underhanded tactics. Lana is Lex's equal I think it would have made sense that Lana becomes repossessed by Isabel and Lex becomes Zod's vessel again but permanently. We get a glimpse of the Chloe/Clark vs Lana/Lex potential in Season 7 Episode "Wrath" and in that episode we see Chloe call out Lana, her ISIS foundation (yes you read that correctly), along with the threat/promise from Chloe "I'm not going to let that happen" and Lana's response with her Wrathful Eyes. But then it's all about "victim Lana" before and after that episode. What a waste. Showing a successful relationship and toxic relationship and how constructive one is and how destructive the other is would have been an amazing story/thread for the show.
This episode is 2 Roses. It's essential but it's a tease of greater things to come: Green Arrow.

For me, Aaron Ashmore was a great Jimmy Olson. Can't imagine another actor in the role, at least on Smallville.

I remember when this aired, I was like, FINALLY! He gets his Super Breath! Nice Surprise to start Season 6 and a great way to explain it having just left the Phantom Zone and possibly getting a Kryptonian Allergy in which, as we've seen in the past his body responds accordingly to the situation.
