- The video contains a review of the Bostitch SX1838K 18-gauge pneumatic narrow crown stapler.
I have been very pleased with the this tool. It has done everything I have needed it to do without any issues. I have yet to have a the stapler jamb, even when firing as fast as I could in contact mode.

All safety gear and operation procedures suggested by the manufacture are recommended.
( I do realize I did not do so in the video. Do not follow my example. I will not be responsible for your actions.)
So glad I watched this. I ran out of staples and was putting them in wrong. Thank you so much for clearing this up. The manual pictures are very bad, and you are soooo good.
That's too funny, how can you put in staples wrong ? 🤣
These instructions are much clearer than the instruction manual. Thank you!
Instructions by J Reed are much clearer than Bostitch. Thanks for teaching me how to load. Bostitch should put you on the payroll!
Thank you. I couldn't figure out how to load staples. :\
Thank you very much for the review. I've made the decision to purchase this tool for installing 9 sheets of Integraply.
You the man thank you I needed that was lost trying to load
Big thanks J just saved me a lot of reading
It might be helpful to demonstrate how the stapler works in different situations - e.g. hardwood vs. what you showed that might be "whitewood" or pine 2x4. Especially the limits of what it can do -
Got mine today. Works well just like my other bostich nailers. Got gyped on the pencil sharpener though. Thats ok I got another that I dont use.
Looks to be the same as the DeWalt DWFP12232 but without the one shot fire. The DeWalt breaks strikers very early in life.
Perfect wanted a stapler for just that also .
Very Good.thanks
How to put staple holder back together
Can you install soffit with it
I bought one brand new and boy you have to really forcibly hit the tip to get it to work. Garbage for me..
Thanks, J Reed. Can you inform me/us if the Bostitch SX1838 can only shoot Bostitch staples? Will 1/4" naPorter Cable or DeWalt or Econo brand staples go through this gun? Are 1/4" 18g narrow crown staples universal among brands? Thank you!
I need to know these things when making a choice, Bostitch staples are pricey
I'm afraid this response is probably too late to help you, @Tickle Fritz, but perhaps someone else will benefit from knowing that 1/4" crown staples seem to work fine in the Bostitch SX1838, even though it claims to take staples with a 7/32" crown. Like you, I found Bostitch 7/32" staples to be a bit pricey. Since I already had a supply of Porter Cable 1/4" crown staples in various lengths, I tried them with no issues at all.
@@slim1228 I found the same to be true, with no issues whatsoever. Love the gun, a great purchase. Thanks for chiming in Slim. I suppose I should have answered my own question after I learned what I learned.
Goggles dude.
Your wrong firing tip stuck out won't fire
Can you put nails in it
Will this shoot a galvanized staple?
You can buy 1/4" crown staples in different materials and coatings.
@@stevecarlisle3323 Indeed we can, but will the Bostitch SX1838 shoot them is the question? Bostitch calls their narrow crowns 7/32, not 1/4, please advise
@@ticklefritz5406 If that's the case, avoid the confusion and buy a brand that uses common 1/4" crown staples😉
