- One of the best rivalry's in motocross in the last decade has to be Ken Roczen vs Ryan Dungey. They swapped Outdoor championships for three years straight and battle tooth and nail in the 2016 supercross season. In supercross Roczen and Dubgey were very even as Roczen's amazing technique prevailed, and Dungy's fast smooth style did as well. Both are my favorite riders. Especially knowing that dungey onboard on honda as a part owner. Dungey I think isnt aggressive anymore riding in KTM but consistency is always there. besides consistency, he ride with safety he didnt want to happen an ending career injuries that would happen to him with what other co riders feel.Back in time, I really idolize dungey when the time he was on suzuki. He was so very aggressive and to fast in suzuki. Miss the dungey on yellow dirt bike but thanks to dungey for having the KTM a first championship. Respect for Roczen.

Dungeys a goat but he got all his championships from contenders getting hurt tbh. His last chip was his best if you ask me also. Wish he didn’t retire
That’s true but that was the thing about dungey, he was so consistent!
not true. he should have one both titles in 2011. a thrown chain at anaheim 3 cost him the supercross title. and boiled gas in texas cost him the outdoor title.... the lost points were the difference

Dungey just won't be remembered. He was a corporate robot. No personality at all and the fans just never connected. I'm sorry but it's true. He's never in a conversation as one of the best for a reason. He was Bland...raced to make money, made it and left the sport.
I guess you weren't a fan? Carmichael retired on top of his game, Villapoto retired the same, Stewart also.
Dungey has 8 championships, one 250 mx, three 450 mx, one 250 sx, and 3 sx. He is 2nd all time wins in mx with 46 and 4th all time with a combined sx and mx with 80 wins. Definitely one of the best to do it, and the proof will be when he's inducted into the HOF as soon as he's eligible.

@@kenfarnsworth5420 I don't think there's a doubt that he is one of the best, however the fact that he could never beat RV and that often other riders were faster than him made it strange for the fans I believe. Remember that all the big names prior to him were pretty dominant when it came to being the fastest guy and winning races, Dungey on the other hand won with consistency.

Cool, but slightly pro-Roczen, which is fine as these are my two favorite riders the past 10 years. That San Diego race, Dungey was faster, had the fastest lap time, and they took off and left Marv in third who was about 30 seconds behind, but Dungey was closing on Roczen and got almost next to him on the last lap but lost traction in corner and lsot by a few seconds but the editing made it look like Roczen put a sick block pass on him(which is true) and took off and won by a mile (which is not true). Can't please everyone including a picky a-hole like me. Still enjoyed watching it.
Doug Dickason TH-cam made me cut out the last half of the race, I do my best to show it how it was but sometimes I have my hands tied.
