When will there be some Supercross Rewinds from 2011?? That season needs to be seen from rounds 1-17.
You may have seen them already but if not look up the bar to bar videos 👍. They are awesome. They have every season from 2002 to 2014 I believe and go over every race. The 2011 one is very fun to watch. Doesnt show every bit of every race but it shows a lot. A couple hours long

Villopoto came and break up of Dungey plans. hahaha
2010 - Dungey won the season.
2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 - Villopoto won all of this.
So, Villopoto leave the supercross and Dungey would keep his plans go on in 2015 and 2016.
I honestly think it was just good timing as KTM finally figured out what worked on the bike coinciding with RV’s retirement But I do believe 2016 would have been Dungey’s year no matter who else was on the line

like always dungey won with luck again
Had nothing to do with luck, it's not his fault other guy's made mistakes and he capitalized on it, that's the name of the game is be consistent, which he was with an outstanding career. Dungey has a 90% podium rate, the worse he's down was get a couple top 5's. So you can rag on him all you want, his championships speak for themselves. He was a master at doing exactly what he needed to do. Kenny was riding a bit over his head in this race and was making alot of mistakes so you can't fault Dungey.
And the better he got, the luckier he got.
With the field talent, where most are the top guys are separated by tenths of a second. The best guys are always there when opportunity strikes. That’s the absolute best you can hope for is that your start is near the front and you remain fast and smooth and consistent. The hardest things to do when your heart rate is that high. Villipoto had a lot of opportunity in 2011 with James Stewart crashing out and Dungey not use to that speed and making mistakes at the front. Don’t get me wrong I have yet to see a rider like Villapoto come out even Eli doesn’t seem as fast. He just was perfect size for that Kawi and rode that back tire to the top.

In 2016 at Indianapolis they did a throw back race and most teams make their bikes look older and in 2016 Yamaha had an anniversary and sold both yzf250 and 450 in yellow it was a special edition bike that year
