It was 100% needed to do what they did with her just from a legal standpoint, since a lot of what she did using company resources could have lead to the company itself facing legal issues had they not made it very clear what they were punishing her for.

Either way, the appeal of having unhinged Vtuber talents quickly became a liability to Niji EN's reputation. Like they needed help shooting themselves in the foot..

Its also a good idea to establish yourself as a good, wholesome person behind the twisted jokes, otherwise you're likely not going to be able to collab much because you'll be unpalatable to most viewers.

My Mom passed away when I was 12. She was not laid to rest for 8 years. I constantly messaged my sister about her ashes and I was regularly ghosted about the topic. When we finally did it we went to a place we would regularly spend our summers growing up. I asked her where we were gonna place the ashes (as it's technically not legal do place them in public or privately owned locations that you didn't own). My sister told me she had the perfect idea and I, instantly knowing what she meant, said that was NOT a good idea.
I used to work at this place. It had a beach off of a lake and every morning we would have to clear up the seaweed, put it in the tracker bucket and then dump it far off to the side. She wanted to put the ashes in the seaweed garbage pile. That's what we did. And then we left. No prayer, no words, nothing. Just dumped the ashes in a seaweed garbage pile and left. I'm still pissed to this day about the blatant disrespect to the person that gave us so much love and happiness. Spent 8 years in a funeral home waiting to be claimed and then dumped in a pile of seaweed.
My sister did not have a bad relationship with out Mom, we were both loved well. I've since told her this and she did apologize for the moment. What's done is done and I don't think I can ever truly forgive her for that.
If I wasn't already done with Niji, Hex would have had a LOT of my disrespect. Even if he WAS joking that still a disgusting joke to make.

I hope you don't mind me asking but what made you go with the seaweed path? My reason for asking is because if someone even suggested that just by saying alone, I would've been infuriated and take the ashes myself to spread to a nicer place, like not even a chance for the other person to justify their idea especially over a garbage pile.
@@corncobbob2326 It was my sister's choice. I don't think she knew that that seaweed pile was there. It was mostly just to do it out of public view as we could have gotten into to trouble if we were caught.
I just didn't want to because I KNEW about the seaweed pile. I did try to tell her about it but I don't think she cared to listen to me. I was just told "It'll be fine" and that was that.

I'm glad the idol situation ended so positively. It's a fucking breath of fresh air to see a corpo vtuber actually end their arrangement with their company in a way which doesn't burn everything to the ground - even if the initial statement was rushed on her part, she didn't get penalized for it via termination or get immediately distanced from the company.
She also didn’t get stealthed for a month followed by character assassination and backstabbing, human decency.

The fact that some Nijisanji livers like Uki and him are still there, just... baffles me. From a pr and a company standpoint, they fire all these different people saying that they're bad for their reputation, but then they just... leave these disasters be? That... really says a lot about their character.
Even without the whole sword of damocles hanging over Niji cause of their bad rep, Having someone like those two on board is just *asking* for trouble down the line.

Talent agencies aren't public services meant for everyone to have fair access to. It's a business being held together by the people that are making it work. What Hex said was so out there that it feels like it has to be a joke, but also what the fuck is the joke? Those clips weren't from different times. Vanta says "I'm a chronic overthinker" and Hex responds by just straight faced claiming he did some fucked shit and then they move on. No lead up or punchline. What a bizarre "joke".
The joke is Hex is trying to be hyperbolic and random to make his collab partner laugh after a serious topic. And it worked. Vanta picked up on the tone and followed his lead, eyes wide. Then they both chuckled when they went back to the game like nothing weird happened. It's an easy random improv joke. "You're being too serious and overthinking a minor issue. I'll be the extreme opposite to highlight how serious you're being." There's probably a tvtropes page dedicated to the "casual psycho outburst, and then act natural" bit.

I can see both sides for the vshojo part. On the one hand good content creators can be excluded because they aren't friends, on the other hand if you're already friends and you work well together it just makes sense.

It was really obvious with Geega for example, before her joining you only really saw her with Zen and Froot, but for the few weeks before her joining she was seen with the others too.
And while I think it's odd to not like that way of doing things, I think it's perfectly reasonable, and sensible, to not want to join if you think you won't get along with some of the company.
Which is one of the reasons they do it that way in the first place.

Their actual clients are the Vtubers in the company. And they manage those talents like Hollywood agents manage Actors. And the talents function more like Content creation group like OTV and OTK. Not every company is looking to expand and rule markets. They are content with what they have and the amount of staff they can afford for their current talents. It is Also SAFER for these talents. Vshojo is there to Protect their talents and if that means creating a bubble around them and making sure the talents brought in have the approval of the current talents, then that's how it fuctions. Its better to have happy people than people who were NOT happy with each other ( TBH you can kinda tell people were not happy with each other in there pre 2023)

I think in vshojo's case they are trying to be more careful with who they add/ask to join now after they had to overcome all the drama from early last year. They are in a comfortable spot right now with all of their talents and i can see why they would rather have people who already get along with everyone there versus someone random that isnt going to mesh well with everyone and cause for more drama they dont need or want to happen. So in a sense i wouldn't call what vshojo has as a "clique" mentality.
Sayu handled it very well. Not revealing who she thinks would not be comfortable with her around is the right play in my mind.

I think it's more so bc of the whole drama that happened whenever haruka joined and all the things that apparently happened during that time. I kind of disagree in saying they will limp along if they don't branch out more bc I think vshojo is probably one of the few companies that can profit from not having too many talents like many other corpos and I think more so goes with how they probably restructured their whole staff after last year's drama. So they can be there for their talents more. So I think vshojo will be just fine profit wise unless like you said ironmouse or zen leave, especially ironmouse bc she is a big part of that companie's success and what brings a good portion of their viewers.

People keep thinking that Vshojo is an open company to just get hired. Vshojo is a Content creation group that just happens to focus on Vtubers. They do work to surrport their current talents like any western style Talent Management company (like how Hollywood Agents do management for Actors). The vtubers themselves function like OTV or OTK ; Its a group of friends. . The company did start out possibly going the route of being a vtuber company ( in the eastern/ Asian sense) with audition sessions but in the end decided that having random people join who are new or don't know the current talents would cause friction. ( and TBH they were probably already having friction the people in there pre 2023) Them pivoting to this style of company offers protection for the current talents and lessens stress for the team and talents over all if everyone is friends and very professional. Its not an open company/ content group. Its Invite only... the same like ANy other Content creation group out there. You cant just demand your way into some place like OTK. Vshojo functions the same way.

Windows auto updated and automatically reversed all of my changes. I still use a HDD, so an automatic update in the background uses 100% of disk and causes basically any game I'm playing or major app (FL Studio, for example) to slow down to a crawl or even crash.

The fact that everyone in Vantas and Hexs chat were upset with what Hex was saying until they started laughing then proceeded to laugh along and encourage that behavior is concerning. Current niji fans have definitely become kinda weird bc if other members had said something like this a couple of years ago people would've thrown a much bigger fit.
Whatever happened between Pochi and Idol, I'm glad that both parties managed to come to a professional conclusion. Both statements were appropriately complimentary and contrite, and allowed both parties to walk away from each other without explosions.
