    Love this lesson series! So helpful watching you play real holes and deal with real situations/challenges/lies. The decision making with regards to clubs, the thought process behind each shot, and your general approach are insightful, relatable, and extremely helpful.

    Love the real world walk thru! There’s the shot I want to take and the shot I’m more likely to hit. So in addition to planning the best shot of which I’m capable, I now take into consideration failure modes. What if I pull it left? What if I chunk it and come up short? Is there a bunker in which I don’t want to end up? Adding failure mode awareness has helped cut a couple strokes off the card by helping make better decisions on club selection and trajectory. This, along with other great tips you’ve provided which I’ve incorporated, has made for a better game!Louisville, KY

    From the rough, I would have used the 54°, in order to avoid catching the ball high on the face, as it happens often to me with the 58° and leaving it short (and happened to you as well...;-))

    Would like to have known yardage to hole on 2ND shot from rough with 22 degree Hybrid? For 3RD shot from rough over bunker, I would most likely have hit 8 iron since I don't trust my wedges from that type of situation!

    While visualizing the putt, should I look at the cup or at the point of reference for the break? Thanks for the great videos from Georgia.

    • @USGOLFTVshow
      @USGOLFTVshow  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both, first look is at the cup and last look is at where the ball will travel. Make sense?

    Thanks, Todd. We all need more of the "management" tips. Btw, did I see you "lick" the ball before placing it down. Maybe they don't apply fertilizers, pesticides, etc to this course.

    Thanks Todd...just curious, how do you hit a long iron/hybrid out of thick rough and prevent the grass from grabbing the clubhead and pulling the shot left (right handed golfer)? Thanks!

    • @USGOLFTVshow
      @USGOLFTVshow  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. The real factor is how thick the rough is. If it is long but relatively thin, the hybrid works well. If the grass is thick, need to go with a high lofted iron.

    Oh my goodness. Sometimes I think you are hiding inside my golf bag. Collapse is EXACTLY what I experience the past two "back 9" rounds - on a par 5 and long par 4. I was all over the place and ended up with 9 and 8 strokes on holes 12 and 15 respectively. Surprisingly enough my total score was 52 and 51 strokes - which isn´t bad, but had I not blown it "midway"... well easy math here, Todd. However, I am not certain about the title "Stopping Mid-Round Collapses for good". What was the lesson/take away, actually? Ian Woosam once said. It is not where the ball lands, it's how many shots you take. On hole nr. 13 I got a boggy and was never on the fareway. Chipped from behind a bench by the next tee - right into the cup. Yeah, I was shocked, considering my challenges with chipping. Anyway, like these on-course lessons - how you evaluate a shot. More of this please.
