thank you for giving me a reason to keep slogging through this sketch, i was about to give up halfway through. i can only take so much of chris rock reading his lines with the commitment of a bro podcaster doing a betterhelp ad read.
I admire the guts it takes for any SNL guest or cast member to perform on live TV w/ such little prep time & so many wardrobe changes, etc., and I know that sometimes re-writes are even last minute, but he really did stand out as fumbling SO many lines & struggling with the cue cards.
@@mccallosone4903 he spent everything on the monologue from what I was told. He ran sets of the monologue for a few weeks. honestly him reading cue cards and half smiling at em almost added to the funny.

Huh? Yeah, those writers dont know what their doing, even after 35 years. A haircut episode..... why didnt they think of that. Sounds more like a Brady Bunch episode than Simpsons. Dont quit your day job.
It'd be the plot for the first eight minutes until it pivots to the dance teacher after Bart accidentally enrolls in the wrong after school class. Milhouse isn't seen or mentioned once after that.
It's like Chris didn't attend a single rehearsal, just walked in on Saturday night and read his lines off the cue cards. His delivery was off the whole night.
I unfortunately agree. And yes SNL is notorious for last minute changes. but he really seemed to struggle to even just read most lines directly off of the cue cards
Saw him live earlier this year - this is just how he is now. Terrible delivery and jokes that aren't even really jokes, just repeating the same thing over and over again. He fell off hard.
@@bonnieb9238I really don't think that has anything do with this situation. It seems like he vaguely knew what the sketch was about and went in without memorizing anything and just winged it. He's a stand up comedian, I'm pretty sure memorizing stuff isn't a problem for him
I was in the crowd at SNL this Saturday with a view from behind the camera and I was reading the line on the cue card for Chris Rock at 3:16 said something like "I could tell someone had given her a lickin". So it was extra funny to me when I heard him go off script to make it funnier. I swear to God it said lickin' with an apostrophe it would have been so cheesy if he'd stuck to the script. What a great sketch.
This is going to sound very, very, very stupid, but I just recently started watching both The Simpsons and SNL. I have heard the names of these shows in several places and decided to check them out, and realised what a cultural sensation these 2 shows have been in America for decades, and to see an SNL skit that combines these 2 shows was just so awesome!!!!!😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
I can see this being really funny written out, but Chris Rock kinda kills it with his delivery. Also not a huge Mikey Day fan but if this was a I Think You Should Leave sketch it would have been great. That relentless return to one person’s obsession while everyone else wants to move on. “What would be my job in Springfield. What would happen in my Simpson’s episode?”
Alternate cut: A heckler screams during the skit yelling "keep my wife's name out of your fu(king mouth" then comes on the stage wearing a white tee & blue pants. Everyone is startled & the screen fades to black.
A couple of SNL cast members went on to voice characters from The Simpsons. Phil Hartman got Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz, Jan Hooks had Manjula before she was eventually voiced by Tress MacNeille, and Harry Shearer has been voicing a number of characters, including Ned Flanders, Principal Skinner, Ken Brockman, etc.
Chloe imitating Marge's voice just fits.
Sounds more like Marge than Julie Kavner's Marge's in 2024.

It kinda reminded me of that AA meeting sketch from the Jack Harlow episode. But nevertheless, it was still funny as heck 😂

no it doesn’t
