oh my god I didn't know the reasoning behind the number 28. that adds so much to the meaning of the song. "you know all 28 reasons to run away" like her entire life is evidence as to why she should escape from her life. damn that's so well done
Praising the backup dancers makes me excited to see your reaction to Ten's 'Birthday' dance practice. It's nice when you get a reactor who can appreciate them as well, since they add so much detail to the piece. In Ten's, he of course is PHENOMENAL and I had to watch it many times before I could really focus on anything else, but the dancers also did amazing and deserve so much recognition. 😊
There's also a Behind where you can watch Bada Lee and JRIK teaching Ten the choreo... very interesting, love when they give us all the videos showing some of the process.
Seulgi pointed out that she debuted in RV eight years ago so her dancing has improved, she has grown up, all of that. She knows what she is doing as far as performance and the industry. Being solo this time was obviously nerve-wracking of course because this is her first solo (but EVERYBODY else was wondering when she would ever get around to it). She was out of her comfort zone.
I think she did AMAZING as a soloist, whether a 'rookie' or not. It's a GREAT solo, it does not seem like it would be a first. I think that is because of her previous eight years. It's all circular.
ANYBODY else who released this still would have hit huge numbers with it because it makes her seem like a seasoned veteran soloist. There really is nobody else like her.
One of the coolest things that I saw about this was Red Velvet all got together to react to the MV. During that video, Wendy told Seulgi that Wendy had never seen anything like this in K-Pop before (and she would know, because of her Radio job).
Another really awesome thing for this was Seulgi's first stop for promotions happened on Showterview and Sunmi was the one to do that interview. Those two have been friends for a few years and Seulgi said that if Sunmi had not been so encouraging from the beginning of their getting to know each other, that this project never would have happened. Seulgi is so hard on herself and such an introvert that it just would not have happened without somebody she looks up to and trusts, telling her that she's better than she thinks she is. It's an AMAZING interview, I encourage you to check that out (and maybe even bring some tissues because there is a really sweet moment that I cried over).

I love when dances fit the song perfectly. I feel like the vibe did translate well and the lyrics add to it. Neither are too distracting and compliment eachother well. Also everyone in the comments recommending Ten's Birthday next, it's fire for sure.
Seulgi has been my bias ever since Redvelvet Debut, I like how she can be bubbly and yet also have mysterious, dark, elegant vibes as well she is a darkness queen.
28 reasons is amazing I also love her song from the same album called DEAD MAN RUNNIN I feel like that song is a continuation of 28 reasons like an after story of what happened after 28 reasons ended. I like that she composed the songs of this solo debut album.
