I have had a Bremont MB2 Orange as my daily wearer for the past six years. I also own Rolex Subs, Sea dweller, moonwatch etc. The watch has been accurate, reliable, durable and bombproof. I recently had it serviced and what came back was a virtually new watch.Only the case back , movement , dial and winder were not changed. New crystal, orange case side, bezel, lugs, date wheel, hands etc all replaced. I know because they sent the old parts back. I paid £2800 six years ago, I could sell it to trade for £2200. Too much snobbery. All brands have to start somewhere.
@@robc8892 I think the bitter man has, you cannot make accusations without evidence. It's fine AC3 does not like Bremont and seems to only like watches that hold their value,
@@paulw5397 Excellent comment Paul, I got myself a s300 as my first luxury watch. After talking with Bremont boutique managers and long term fans they all have similar experiences to yourself which was one of the reasons why I chose it over similar watches.
I have an MBII, so why did I spend the money? I was in the RAF and everyone who had a posh watch, had a Breitling Aerospace zzzzz. I wanted to be different and I was offered a great deal from Bermont on a watch that included the aircraft I flew in the RAF as part of the design. Lastly, and you touched on this, I felt very proud to be able to buy a high quality watch from a British producer. When I wear it, it makes me feel special and that’s enough for me.
Every one going on about an “In house movements” is a relatively new thing, Valjoux, ETA and the others have been making movements for many of our favourite watches. Also, let’s not forget JLC and Zenith who made movements for so many Brand’s including Rolex. Bremont are cool.
I own a Bremont--the U-2/51Jet. I did not know of Bremont before purchasing it. I was shopping for an Oris Big Crown ProPilot and the jeweler showed it to me as an option. He also told me the story of the origin of the company and of the brothers' love of aviation. I decided to purchase both the Oris and the Bremont. After a few weeks of wearing the Oris, I switched the Bremont over to the rubber strap and began wearing it. It has since become my go-to timepiece. It's a comfortable watch for me. It is heavy but not obnoxiously so. A couple of months after buying it, I received the COSC certificate in the mail. I love my Bremont and I don't care what the haters think.
I don't agree with having to pay £4000+ for an ETA movement to help fund their future plans to create their own in-house movement. Christopher Ward, like them or not, managed to make a very impressive SH21 in-house movement which could be picked up around £1000 or less.
I totally agree with you. Bremont watches are not cheap and their designs aren't that remarkable compared to other makes in that price range. CW don't hide that the watches are Swiss made in Bienne - Bremont aren't very clear on the origine of their calibers.
@@stevetrotter6584you can get a Marathon watch for significantly less and they actually have a CAGE code and an NSN and a real military history. Look at the new steel navigator. They were requested in 1986 by the airforce and now they are back.
Bremont is an amazing company! Nick and Giles are great guys and the real deal!! I have one of their military project watches. I love the insane detail, the discretion, and the origin story of the company. The watch I'm wearing isn't just a story about special operations and the intelligence community, it's now a family heirloom and literally pieces of that history! Thx, Bremont!
As an American of English/German descent, I wanted a representative watch from each country. I first purchased a Muhle Glaschutte SAR Rescue Timer (ETA), which at my price point was the best representation of German design and mindset I could find. Then, turning to England, there was no better option than the Bremont MBII, also ETA. Mine has the white dial and orange case band, a beautiful bit of English design with a very British story (or marketing, for those of you who don’t like the brand) behind it. A couple years in, they both make me happy, and that’s what counts.
Meh ... So you buy ETA for 4K to get them to where they want to be ... Shareholder without shares. that's a great business model if you can get away with it ... No brand history or heritage Just piggybacking onto the British military .... It's obviously all about the money and it sucks ... not for me thanks.
Terry Brigden - Exactly matey! I’m all for a British Company, but not at the expense of stealing/riding the valour of our military heritage. Good or bad, that shit was earned in much blood, sweat and tears! Atb, Dazza. 🇬🇧
Glad I'm not the only one to take issue with this. So anyone buying now is "buying in" but once they get big or have their in-house movement you have to go to the back of the line right?
Michael L have to agree. Adrian many of your comments come across as sycophantic making this video is a big own goal. Listen back to some of the language you use, lots of hyperbole... you’ll rewatch this with huge embarrassment at some point in the future - probably not too far off.
Excellent commentary about Bremont. Way too many folks think that an in-house movement is always superior to an ETA and this is simply not true. There are good in-house and bad in-house movements and not all are created equal. In addition, way to many people judge a watch company without any real knowledge of their operations or their product for that matter. This video is a great example of not to judge a book by its cover. Thank you for making it.
Love the Concorde edition timepiece, but maybe for 1-2k SGD. Bremont does not have the equity to charge the prices they do at the moment, and it is not the customer’s duty to pay a premium to help them get there.
If Bremont gets the sizing down to a more wearable 38-41mm and lowers the price point to the $2-3k range, I think they could be a serious player. They’re competing in Rolex/Tudor/Omega territory at their current prices, that just doesn’t make sense. But the $2-3k price bracket is wide open for someone to come along and take over. I do hope they reconsider their pricing. It’s a company I’d like to see succeed.
To commemorate the Concorde, I have cut a slice of cheddar at a particular angle. Understand, this is done to pay respect to this fine aircraft and its spectacular performance. 9000 quid gets you this fine slice of formage d'aviation!
I really like these videos on the visits, gives such insight on the company, brand and ethos, as well as where they are aiming for! Just gives that extra connection, and certainly gave you food for thought!
Why bother making watches? Why do these companies not just take out their movements and just design bracelets for men? Why do people who have no experience of war glamourize it and want to be associated with the military? Don't buy a watch grow a pair and enlist.
I heard a quote once about Bremont: ‘a marketing and PR company with a sideline in making watches...’ I do like the MB range however, but not at the list price.
Studying to become a pilot and some of our flight instructors are retired, ex-military fighter pilots and some of them have Bremonts with some sort of "custom dial" for their specific squadron or type of fighter jet. So cool!
My only experience with Bremont was buying (I thought) a new watch and being supplied with an obviously used watch. Their customer service department were sluggish in detailing with my complaint, and when I supplied them with the watch serial number they refused to confirm that it had previously been registered with them. By way of an apology I was offered a tour of their factory so I could go and choose a replacement watch in person. I gladly accepted and eagerly awaited to be contacted. 15 months later I’m still waiting to be hear from Bremont about this. 🙄🤣 Real classy company to deal with 🤨
I have owned Bremonts for a while now. I love the build, size and story. They were also a lot more reasonable when I started buying them! I have always avoided the events as I am unsure just what a gathering of watch types would be like but maybe I will try one of theirs based on this. At my peak I had 6 - 5 Chrono’s and a Supermarine S501, now it’s 4 including a lovely LE Blue dial Alt1-ZT they did for WOS and the Griffin. Basically they are bomb proof and yes, I’m ex RAF officer and they just resonate. I have avoided the expensive LE and stuck to used as they do depreciate a lot…
Im in the RAF and the brothers visited my camp a couple of years ago. The watches are highly legible pilot inspired. I think they look great but i know people are very critical of their products. Give them a chance. I have friends that have them and they are very happy with them. Loving these videos!
Price and design aside, you either buy into the story of two British guys with an aviation background and a *genuine* passion for making a world-class watch on British soil, or you don't.
I love Bremont, I do have some things that I feel need improving, the lume needs to be much stronger on their dive watches and a personal preference, female endlinks. I will say they don't really have a huge heritage and they should stop trying to reinforce it, they should celebrate their link to aviation as they already do but less of the forcing of British culture to the brand. The pricing is high but if they keep the pricing the same with an in house movement the brand will suddenly gain more respect in more collectors eyes and find itself accepted in the price bracket that they try to place it in rather than the constant price bashing I see. I am a Bremont owner, I love my S300 and the brand but wish more watch fans could get them in their hand and appreciate them.
I agree with your last point; there are far too many people online giving their heartfelt opinions about watches without ever trying them on! Of course, everyone has a right to an opinion, but honestly, until you have experienced something first hand… 😩
So you republished this video and took down the clarification one? Austen Daniels has made a video about your Bremont situation btw. I still think you got carried away on this one.
I think IWC’s prestige is somewhat illusory these days: eta movements in their entry level pieces and increasingly diminishing interest from the market. Which is not to say Bremont are any better.
Interesting to see the change in opinion over so many things once you have met Nick, and seen the back of house setup, i was in there at the start and could see Giles and Nick were very different to any other company directors, we sold the first watch the day we launched them in 2007 which coincided with the opening of the biggest watch location in London at the time and the difference was stark and obvious, every other team from every other watch company came in with an entourage and acted like dignitaries, Giles and Nick on the other hand were chatting directly to customers, acting as waiters to get customers drinks, explaining their ideas and products one to one and the passion was obvious, things like offering to sign the warranty and talking about production numbers, of the 35 pieces we had the serial numbers were all in the first 100-200 some lower, that spirit, ethos and commitment has not changed! Good video and glad you can see some reasons for the pricing, and as to the Concorde well when they launched the EP120 in 2009 nobody was doing anything like the authentic use of parts or proper limited edition pieces in the same vein, they were £6495 and we sold around 10% of the total production, they now sell for £14-17k depending on condition! The Concorde might be expensive to you but it’s got kudos beyond the basic elements
I like your take on them, Adrian. I had no idea that they use ETA's still (my thoughts were that they were beyond that point by now) But for the price, they look SO plain on the outset. It's a shame really because I admire what they're doing with the military and the RnD. But now they need to show us. These pieces look poorly proportioned, thick and bulky (more along the lines of a microbrand) and for the prices they're asking...it looks like they'll be catering for a very select audience for years to come...
The watch community, by which I mean ‘enthusiasts’ and ‘reviewers’ appear to me to be gatekeepers who just want to hate on anyone who’s attempting to enter what they see to be their space. (And let’s not forget the all important clicks) Starting a new luxury product requires enormous financial outlay, and so they have to attempt to create their product and sell it at a high price point from the beginning. Not only do they have to do this to cover their costs, but they have to create the brand that they want to be from day 1. They do this only to be lambasted by gatekeepers who just need to hate on something new which doesn’t have the heritage of something like Rolex or Omega. It happens in all industries, not just watches. But it’s a shame that they have not only the struggle of creating a new brand, but the constant uphill struggle against these gatekeepers. A company should be judged on its product, not by its age.
After a lot of consideration I purchased a S2000 in red a few months back. Paid £2,700 in a sale instead of the hefty £4,150 rrp. Have to admit the quality is exceptional, comfortable to wear with rubber strap and looks great on the wrist being a larger 45mm case. Finish and detail is great. Would definitely recommend. Whilst Rolex, panerai, IWC and bretling are my favourites within my collection the bremont is a fine addition for the money it cost me.
@@RandallSlick . It’s not just about the movement. It tells the time exactly as my and anyone’s other watches. I am not a watch snob. I buy a watch for the look and the ascetics. I was so pleasantly surprised at the build quality of the Bremont and it’s equal to my other watches. In fact I would wear this over a Rolex most days. Would I have paid full price, absolutely not I would have bought another Panerai, but then again some people hate them too. It’s individual preference with everything and whilst I do agree some watches with 3rd party movements are way over priced let’s be honest even with in house these are ridiculously overpriced as well.
Perhaps in near future, I also do get invited into that exclusive Bremont watch party and maybe I also do get impressed like you. However, I know for sure that would never ever happened in my life time. Meantime, I still believe that the pricing is ridiculous for common people, common and sensible people like me. You mentioned that it is not all about the movement, it is about finishing and workmanship of each parts and component. and we all do have to pay for their marketing, such as the people getting ejecting out of airplane and showing us how their watches stand up for that. I am 100% certain that any $40 G-shock watches or even any decent micro branded watches will withstand that experiments which cost far less than that Bremont. Honestly I have no idea how well their watches are selling and how much of the money goes into their R&D which we, as consumers, are paying for it. But one thing for certain. I believe that the Bremont people has a lot of money in their pocket along with a lot of connections in their political and economic circles that 99% of regular micro branded watch people do not. So, regular micro brand guys should be jealous of them? They might be... But if I need to buy a decent and well made micro brand watch, I rather spend my money on those who are working from the bottom and try to give us the best possible watches for the money. Interesting Video about Bremont (actually your this vid made me think of Bremont less than before). Thank you for your time.
Jesus christ what are you so bitter about, if you don't like the brand, don't buy the watches. Why type out a ridiculously long comment ranting and raving about sweet phuck all. It Sounds like your EX wife fucked your best friend then took all your money. Smoke a joint relax
@@balance3201 100% chances are they are gifts for PR exercise. There is no way the mod will be wasting the little money they have on expensive mechanical watches.
The Pulsar g10 is also a bit shit. It is a very basic field watch that you might see a Reservist wearing who wants everyone to know he is 'military', or a Staff Officer with a NATO strap in Corp colours...awfully chad. Most soldiers wear g Shock, Suunto if you're trying to make a point about how ally you are or Luminox if your SF.
honestly i feel they aren't anything special but admire their desire to come into their own as a brand. wouldn't mind owning a jaguar mk-II though! agree with your viewpoints brother!
I own Rolex, Omega, IWC, JLC, Glashutte and have owned just about every chi-chi marque there is-including Patek, Vacheron and AP. But I also own a couple of Bremonts; and what I would say is this... You really have to handle a Bremont to experience the details and quality of finish. They are absolutely phenomenal. I have also been to their factory and believe me, they are very, very serious and committed about their passion. As a collector and even handed enthusiast of 30 years, I would highly recommend them.
I just recently went to their latest factory - The Wing - and it’s amazing. It would be great to get a new updated video on Bremont; they might even invite you to their new facility. The brothers are inspiring and the company is making so many strides forward. I personally think they are important to the watch industry and certainly the British watch making industry! I see them being huge in 100 years when they have the experience of the other big brands. As you say they’re on their journey, where a lot of watch brands have reached theirs.
The moment I walked passed Bremont watches; dream was to have one on my wrist. I knew little about the movement and did wonder to why should I pay a price greater than a Rolex OP would cost for ALT1-C, but I could not walk away and bought it. Every time I turn my wrist to see the time, it's beautiful. In my opinion, Watches are not an investment, buy it cause you love it for whatever those factors might be. This video is good example of how our views can change but most of all, understanding that either you can wear a piece only because it is highly rated by others or follow your heart (and of course sense) with guidance from experts. Good video, thanks
I would have a Bremont in a heartbeat, I don't see them as too expensive (still too much for me though) I would not think of a buying a Rolex, ever, even if I had the money. They are a new brand that are trying to re-invigorate the British watch industry and that can only be a good thing, we have C ward, Monroe, Elliot brown and others all trying to do the same we should celebrate this not find fault with everything British, if they were Swiss, we would be supporting them, Well done, good show, better luck next time, but NO, they are British, so let's kick them when they are down and not praise them when they do well
What's wrong with ETA? Aren't they reliable? Is there any empirical proof any of the recent in-house movements are any better than ETA's (except maybe Rolex's)?
ETA movements are great, some are often better than most inhouse movements. I think the challenge is, if a watch company only use off the shelf movements, are they are a watch maker or a watch designer. It's relatively easy to make a watch with an ETA movement, but it's very hard to make a watch with an in house movement.
@ nualdifa , i agree! ETA is great. Great interview with jean Claude Biver. He mentioned he has MIllion dollar Patek with movements made by someone else. Rolex has done it, Patek has done it and many others. No one questioned their reliability or worth back then. Then the in house movement “movement” came about and all manufactures started jumping on the band wagon. If I like a watch and it’s reliable, beautiful and can be worked on after the sale if needed, then I’m good. I definitely would not pay more for a in-house movement vs. eta just because. Having the option at less money , I choose ETA.
@@WINDINGCROWNS my concern with this in-house movement (pun intended) is that there is no proof they will be as reliable in the long term. A good watch should outlast its owner. In-house just feels something like planned obsolescence. Less parts available, less independent watchmakers that can service them. If what an authorised service centre employee told me that Omega only guaranteed supply of spare parts for their in-house movements for about 10 years, what will be of all these wonderful co-axials? Apply that for all other watchmakers.
Great Content, eagerly anticipated with your thoughts on Bremont, I do own a Bermont MBII bought pre owned, which gave me a great value proposition. I am always blown away with the unbiased take and honesty of your videos, I'll grab a coffee and look forward to the next upload.
I like Bremont's cases, really well done and unique... but ever since they straight up lied about their so-called "in-house" movement years back, I will never trust Bremont / the English brothers. If I want a British watch, I'll just buy a Christopher Ward and spend the rest of the money I saved on a Grand Seiko or Omega Seamaster. And.. I actually prefer having an ETA (especially 2892) or UNITAS movement in my watch so it's easy to service.
@@BarkandJack Yes, they were on Hodinkee and lied. Anyone with any business sense would have rehearsed what they were going to say in advance to such an important interview. Nick English knew what he was going to say and knew what he was saying. Almost as bad is if he didn't know what he was saying and is just an idiot on what "in-house" means. Ignorance isn't an excuse at this level; maybe in Primary/Elementary School.
@@BarkandJack This is the kind of stuff you need to dig into. It's like telling us they've been taken up by the military. Is that true? Seems weird the MOD buying luxury watches when they can't afford body armour for their soldiers. In my video I might have questioned that, is that true or are they trying to get attention? Unless I'm doing an advertorial, then hey, carry on.
It'd be interesting to see you do a revisit of Bremont three years later. Do you still have the same positive view of them? Would you buy one of their watches?
I heartily agree with you on the price point... they are indeed expensive. I do like a lot of their watches but most of them are just too big, in my opinion. I was happy that they started making some more reasonably sized watches (40 mm cases). I'm all about bringing watchmaking back to Britain!
I am so glad you are embracing the Bremont brand! They make some fantastic pieces that have great anti-shock properties and very good anti-magnetic tech. They are truly rugged pieces. I have taken my Supermarine S500 on some fairly deep dives on wrecks and it has been flawless. Comparing it to my Planet Ocean titanium and my Rolex Submariner, the Bremont has the best bezel action of the 3, in my opinion. At $5100, it is a great value versus $8500-$8600 for the other two.
I do think Bremont are expensive and am not going crazy about there watches, the armed forces connection and dials are cool but wouldn't it be awesome if they could make a British In-House movement. Keep an eye for Bremont in the future.
I just bought my first Bremont today; a Solo 43mm. It should arrive next week. Too good to pass up deal on it. That way if it doesn't stick, it will be easy to find it a new home with a small +/- on the purchase price. I'm really hope I like it as I'm finding less and less to love about the hype watches. I've bought and sold 2 Rolex in the past year as they just didn't win my over. I guess I like to root for the scrappy underdog in life, so an up and coming company like Bremont might be just the thing.
They have an air of southern English old school tie , sandhurst type vibe . They are quite expensive because they know their market . This patriotic thing sells not only in the uk but quite possibly world wide . They probably have aspirations for a royal seal of approval.yes there is a market amongst the tweed and chino set and others who buy into this sort of thing . Christopher Ward is a British brand who are producing great in house as well as eta based watches at sensible prices without the ridiculous flannel of Bremont..
I have to agree with many of the comments. The price point for an ETA movement, seemingly too many models (who are they trying to be?), etc. Honestly, those things made me personally write off Bremont. Sorry Adrian. The branding reminds me slightly of Shinola watches - albeit with a MUCH better quality watch. Shinola is all about employment and giving back to the community in Detroit. So, if you want to help and buy a $200 watch for $2,000, it's the brand for you. Bremont seems to be trying to push the "buy British" branding. So, if you want to be part of the "club" and buy a £500 watch for £5,000, then it's the brand for you. I personally just can't get behind it. Loved the video, though! Even if I disagree with you. Ha!
Sorry, but I think this is shortsighted. Since writing this comment, has your opinion changed ? What Bremont are doing is remarkable… Visit the Wing and try on some of their watches - all very impressive.
Only just came across this video, following a link from about effing time, love your explanation for repositioning. Would be interested to know your thoughts four years later, given higher prices, opening of "The Wing", own movement manufacture etc.. I love Bremonts, I have the argument about the movement v the other technology with watch friends quite regularly, and I believe its worth the spend, which is really all that matters. I was in the Mayfair shop not so long ago, and despite looking like a scruffy, sweaty tourist (which I guess I actually was) I was treated to a very nice explanation of everything I looked at, whilst sipping on a free glass of wine, by a very friendly salesperson. Even though I said I wasn't buying on the day, I was still treated perfectly and I will definitely go back for more of the same, but with cash in pocket.
While I can see Bremont's predicament vis a vis "What comes first, the money or the in-house movement?" as a watch consumer with limited resources and no real emotional connection with the Bremont story I just can't justify buying an ETA-based tool watch at the Bremont price point. Heck, at similar or lower price points you can buy watches with in-house (designed) movements like Tudor, NOMOS, Omega, Christopher Ward.
I'm with you. There's not a Bremont that I want to own just yet. Having said that the new Broadsword and Supermarine looked good on the wrist. Both if them being in the smaller side.
Adrian, I own a broad sword with the mono pusher and love the build quality and simple and clear dial. Bremont is the best in British watch making and is a tool watch for people who want to be different. I plan to visit them on my next trip to London and maybe buy the super marine chronograph black dial which I think looks great .
I’d love you to cover these guys with a new vid. Went to the Wing this year, absolutely fantastic experience for any watch enthusiast and British manufacturing too 👍
Agree. And I’d love you to spend a bit more time with the Supernova… I think you might have been a bit hasty on the lug to lug measurement being too big, Adrian
I’m a big fan of what Bremont is doing. I have a Swiss Made (old) Alt1-Z that I adore and a P-51 that is so gorgeous. I knew going in that this was more about design than movement, but I’m excited to see where they’re going.
Great vid, really enjoyed it. I’ve always like the look. Just didn’t like the price but I still itch for one. BTW , Adrian , what’s the name of the song and artist in your intro? Really cool sounding.!
Hi Hector Orozco, glad you like the video buddy. I agree, they are still too pricey for me too. I don't know the name of the song, sorry. I just download royalty free music from sound cloud.
Recently had a customer showing me his Chronograph , he was saying how the second hand would not return to the zero position once started and stopped then reset , I Pointed out the the second hand wold not return and the outer ruing zero pointer would not stop at exactly 12 and the dial was not exact either , this watch had been put together very badly , with some user issues . It’s been away for repair over 8weeks now according to the owner and still no sign of its return or not been told how long , watch is still under warranty , maybe time for a replacement not repair ,
Boy ... what have you been smoking Adrian ... how often have you "really connected" :-) watch your own vid and have a good lough. And yes ... love your channel ... " this is genuine" :-)
I was in the same boat , and wasn’t totally sold on them . Until I went to see my watch retailer and presented me with an MBII day date ( which I believe are now discontinued) . I was looking for a watch that was durable , and not having to worry to damage and that was different. And I fell in love with the story behind the idea of the watch. Despite the are newish to the market , I think they have great potential and it’s a nice piece and homage to English engineering . I admire the English brothers taking on the establishment of watches , not an easy feat , and if I remember correctly the story isn’t to different to Rolex’s regarding in-house made movements. I think Bremont has got potential to become a solid brand … and who doesn’t like flight themed watches !!!
I have a Bremont Solo I will upgrade to an MBII. Pricing is ridiculous but I like the aviation connection. As a watch I don’t like the buying drama of Rolex, so Omega, IWC, and Tudor are my go to watches.
I live in the town where Bremont’s factory is, honestly I find their watches to be uninspired and lacklustre. The watches are blatantly overpriced and nobody should be paying thousands for a watch that should be £1,000 just to “help” the company to achieve another step
Love your videos Adrian but... Bottom line.... No one is going to buy a watch that isn't worth the intrinsic value they paid for it to help the company progress and grow...that's what venture capitalists are for and they'd want a share in the company.
I agree, and that was my ending message. It's an interesting debate though around what it is we are actually paying for. There certainly isn't a watch brand out there that sell a watch for what it costs to make. There always costs involved, with Rolex we pay for wealthy celebrities to be given watches for free. With Omega we pay for James Bond to wear a watch along with Omega's endorsements. There are many costs involve that we end up fitting the bill. Some brands we like so much we simply suck it up.
Bark and Jack agreed, however the brands you mention... Rolex and Omega... Have extensive heritage whereas Bremont does not. Pay 18k for a gold Bremont and almost certainly a grey dealer would financially rape you if they even considered to buy whereas a Rolex or Patek would retain or increase in value... you'd also lose on an Omega, unless a special sought after model.
The problem with them is when they started they said they had aviation heritage. Not that they made watches for pilots for years but the two founders used to fly antique planes. It would've been easier if they had just been upfront about being newcomers to the industry who want to make military themed watches. I do like their designs. It genuinely feels British compared to the sea of Swiss designs.
Austin Daniels & Archie's responses to this video were correct. Objectively there's no reason why someone with a modicum of knowledge would buy a Bremont. Their target market is naive Brits who otherwise would buy an Omega or Rolex. There's also no reason for a TH-cam watch channel to give Bremont a fair hearing for 13 minutes.
It's a shame you feel this response videos are correct. This watch world is full of different opinions and different tastes and we are all welcome to have those opinions. I'm not sure if you watched the whole video, based on the tone of your comment it's understandable if you didn't, but my ending comment was I like the Bremont branding and company, but I wouldn't buy one because of their pricing.
I quite like some of their pieces. Their dh88 was a remarkable piece. Especially in rose gold. They can be expensive at times though but they produce limited volume and put a lot of work into their case design and I don’t think people understand that. You said ‘cool’ quite a lot in this one !!
omg, i forgot Oris. You love Oris. isnt that the moment to acknowledge that even of the shelves sellitas can make great watches? ahh, i am not trying to convince you of anything, just have good times
So only if I'm buying a Bremont can I join the club?I'd rather buy an Omega or Rolex and attend these townhouse events ....which I presume most people do anyway...
I'd rather join the Rolex club too. I'm not familiar with any events put on by Rolex or Omega that are similar to the Bremont Town House event. Or maybe that's because I'm small fry and I'm not invited. That latter is very likely as I had to ask to be invited to the Bremont Town House. Thanks for watching.
@@BarkandJack Well if u see Omegas Instagram there are events all the time and I presume Rolex does as well...You r right it's for super rich or super famous people...Anyway looking at Bremonts sales report 3 weeks ago I'm not totally sure even that they will still remain independent for much longer...Good bet is that they present themselves as the highest quality brand they can ...I really hope they prosper but they should be rubbing shoulders with Tag and Tudor than Rolex and Omega
@@watchmedicine7747 I've seen people invited to Rolex dinners, but I'm not on that list and never will be. I won't have that sort of cash. Bremont's sales report wasn't too promising and I've heard the brothers own very little of the company, it's all owned by investors, so maybe a buyout is possible. It would be a shame, but everyone seems to be doing it.
@@BarkandJack It would be a shame if they did get bought out but it's a possibility...Yeah Rolex and Omega events are not meant for the enthusiasts...its for ambassadors and heavy hitters imo...
Hi Adrian! Off topic from this video but I commented in your skx bezel bleaching video and I haven't received any replies so I'm trying here! I'm trying to bleach fade my skx013 black bezel and I used the Clorox brand bleach but it didn't work no matter how long I let the bezel sit in the bleach. There was no problem to my bezel at all but it just doesn't fade :( Is there a specific brand you used or maybe a certain percentage of bleach I'm supposed to use? Cuz it seems Clorox is very weak. Thank you in advance and love your videos! If anyone else can help me, it would be much appreciated! Cheers!
I may have misunderstood what you said about the HMAF collection, but these are not oficially comissioned/service approved/military issued pieces. The MoD basically gave Bremont a license to use the respective insignia, but it would be incorrect to imply that these watches are in some way the watches oficially used/issued by the British military. So it would be incorrect to derive from that increased credibility for Bremont on a technical perspective in the sense of implying their watches having gone through any kind of Milspec testing. Credibility may have been gained by their marketing department by getting the MoD to accept such an association.
I’m hoping they will lend at least one watch to me so I can do a review on it and go deeper into their relationship with the MOD. The watches aren’t issued kit.
That was an excellent analysis on Bremont which I thought was fair. However, a couple of years ago when I visited them, they acted most unprofessionally by scorning my choice of an orange-faced Breitling Emergency watch. The arseholes should have asked why I chose it, and then I would have explained how this incredible timepiece saved my life twice, and I would have hoped they apologised, but no. I never bought their chronometer, estimated to be close to 4K. Instead I walked out without a goodbye and bought a Rolex GMT Master II, and been well pleased with it ever since.
Time to update this Adrian. In this video you also say Roger Smith is based in Isle of Wight! He is very firmly based in the Isle of Man. I know because I live here and have been to his workshop. Bremont are Superb watches from every angle with a tried and tested movement. Perceived value is objective. As you point out, many more expensive brands use the same as it's pretty much bomb proof. How long will it take for the clan to trust a whole new movement or stop speculation that's it's a clone of something else anyway....🙃

If your British military Bremont is our brand !!!
Well said Chris
British with a Swiss movement? You coulda just bought a Christopher Ward.
💯🎯👊

A couple years in, they both make me happy, and that’s what counts.
sar is such a perfect watch
As a veteran, I like some of the designs. But the pricing? Seriously. NO. I'll keep my Tudor, Nomos and Oris.
As a veteran I much prefer my Bremont to my Tudor. Oris isn't as nice as Bremont, or at least the limited edition five watch Oris I tried.
Thanks for being open and willing to give a company an honest go. And thanks for being willing to admit a change of face & explaining why.
Meh ... So you buy ETA for 4K to get them to where they want to be ... Shareholder without shares. that's a great business model if you can get away with it ... No brand history or heritage Just piggybacking onto the British military .... It's obviously all about the money and it sucks ... not for me thanks.
Exactly this, Lovely how they use their money testing an ETA movement in ejection seats.

Glad I'm not the only one to take issue with this. So anyone buying now is "buying in" but once they get big or have their in-house movement you have to go to the back of the line right?
@@BLOEDLINK It isn't just about the ETA movement, it is about Bremont's anti-shock and anti-magnetic technology.

@@Metalguitarpete no he won't. And now that he followed it up with Christopher Ward (Brand that's sponsoring TGV) it's a done deal.

But people are paying them. Their not expanding because people only wanting to pay 1 - 2 k

What are your thoughts on Bremont today ?
They make a range of 37mm watches that are very attractive.
To commemorate the Concorde, I have cut a slice of cheddar at a particular angle. Understand, this is done to pay respect to this fine aircraft and its spectacular performance. 9000 quid gets you this fine slice of formage d'aviation!

Why bother making watches? Why do these companies not just take out their movements and just design bracelets for men? Why do people who have no experience of war glamourize it and want to be associated with the military? Don't buy a watch grow a pair and enlist.
Hahaha, that's a very fair point. I often think the same when I see videos of grown men dressed in DPM shooting each other with airsoft guns.
I heard a quote once about Bremont: ‘a marketing and PR company with a sideline in making watches...’
I do like the MB range however, but not at the list price.
I think that pretty much sums up this video. I’ve bought into their marketing, but I won’t be buying any of their watches anytime soon. 👍🏻

Me too. And I am pleased that Adrian made this video - must confess all the negativity towards Bremont does get under my skin… Thank you Adrian 🙏
Studying to become a pilot and some of our flight instructors are retired, ex-military fighter pilots and some of them have Bremonts with some sort of "custom dial" for their specific squadron or type of fighter jet. So cool!
Yeah they can look awesome. The custom dials are cool. Best of luck with your pilot training.
Bark and Jack Yeah, they also have a custom Breitling Aerospace which is even cooler! Thanks man, appreciate it!

Real classy company to deal with 🤨
I have owned Bremonts for a while now.
I am very satisfied with my Bremont, and I consider it an excellent value.
john doe,
Sure, but nobody knows who you are.
I agree, Rate and review a product or service you have actually handled / owned or bought.
Price and design aside, you either buy into the story of two British guys with an aviation background and a *genuine* passion for making a world-class watch on British soil, or you don't.
Those two guys are as phony as a pair of three-dollar bills, as we Americans say.
Buying into their story is expensive. A lot a money for a watch with an ETA movement.
Why *shouldn't* they reinforce British culture? There is much to be proud of. And I say this as a Yank.
Austen Daniels has done the real "clarification" one. This is the one he should take down.
The problem with bremont brand it priced in IWC level with nothing to match IWC prestige and thanks for this great vid
I think IWC’s prestige is somewhat illusory these days: eta movements in their entry level pieces and increasingly diminishing interest from the market. Which is not to say Bremont are any better.
I do agree. I can't justify the cost where there are stronger brands out there for the same money.
@@BarkandJack This is my dilemma as well.
Buying in to a secret club that is... erm a watch you can buy in a shopping centre? Are you sure about that?
You can buy any luxury brand in the shopping centre. I'm waiting for my Rolex in the same "shopping centre" that I picked up my Bremont.
I bought my Rolex, Omega, Breitling in the small shopping centre as my Bremont.
@@djdc81 exactly. There’s no secret club, just brands and shops making money. Secret clubs are something 7 year olds get excited about.
As you say, nothing has changed. Great to hear your experience of the brand. Thank you
I like your take on them, Adrian.

(And let’s not forget the all important clicks)
Starting a new luxury product requires enormous financial outlay, and so they have to attempt to create their product and sell it at a high price point from the beginning.
What movement did your £2700 get you might I ask?
Is it me but at 3:05 mark was the watch to the left, the seconds counter was going backwards?
Haha, yeah I reversed that clip as I liked the panning from the bench to the watch.
I have an S301 and it keeps time better than a Rolex plus the case design is imaginative and very comfortable to wear.

Can't see a Bremont in general issue to the military. The CWC/Pulsar was around £50 per watch
The MOD aint got that kind of money anymore maybe a few for high ranking officers. The average squaddie... No chance.
@@balance3201 100% chances are they are gifts for PR exercise. There is no way the mod will be wasting the little money they have on expensive mechanical watches.
The Pulsar g10 is also a bit shit.
The question is why get a Bremont in the first place.
I agree 💯🎯
Adrian. Wondering what your comment on this video is today.
Bremont. All show...no go.
What do you guys think of Sjöö Sandström?
I would have a Bremont in a heartbeat, I don't see them as too expensive (still too much for me though) I would not think of a buying a Rolex, ever, even if I had the money.
They are a new brand that are trying to re-invigorate the British watch industry and that can only be a good thing, we have C ward, Monroe, Elliot brown and others all trying to do the same we should celebrate this not find fault with everything British, if they were Swiss, we would be supporting them, Well done, good show, better luck next time, but NO, they are British, so let's kick them when they are down and not praise them when they do well
When will Bremont offer an inhouse movement ?
Considering the price of their watches using ETA movements...…….I think it's a fair question.
What's wrong with ETA? Aren't they reliable? Is there any empirical proof any of the recent in-house movements are any better than ETA's (except maybe Rolex's)?
That's what they are working on at the moment. It might be ready at the end of the year.
Glad you put this back up because I really wanted to watch it. Great video and enjoyed it. Thanks 👍
So true.
I wonder if they "lied" on purpose, it certainly got them a lot of attention.

Agree.
Is Mick English any relation to Johnny English? What sort of unit is he building? Yours?
Their S302 is a great looking watch. Would absolutely consider that in it's price range.
I think the Supermarine Descent II looks absolutely stunning. I think it could be my next watch...
I do think Bremont are expensive and am not going crazy about there watches, the armed forces connection and dials are cool but wouldn't it be awesome if they could make a British In-House movement. Keep an eye for Bremont in the future.
British in-house movement would make Bremont truly a British brand.
The day Bark jumped the shark
I just bought my first Bremont today; a Solo 43mm. It should arrive next week. Too good to pass up deal on it. That way if it doesn't stick, it will be easy to find it a new home with a small +/- on the purchase price. I'm really hope I like it as I'm finding less and less to love about the hype watches. I've bought and sold 2 Rolex in the past year as they just didn't win my over. I guess I like to root for the scrappy underdog in life, so an up and coming company like Bremont might be just the thing.
Good video, good to see Bremont going places.
I like them. Don’t mind the marketing and like the watches. Good to see a brand breaking the mould.
Adrian - Have you been to The Wing yet ? I went today. It’s amazing what Bremont are doing. A fantastic brand that’s going places…
Best in British watch making! Does that include Roger Smith?
@@Rog5446 blimey, do you always compare apples with bananas ? I agree with you Warner Jacob ✅
We’ve been looking forward to this!
You appear to have broken the watch internet!! FYI I own an ETA Bremont, and still want to buy an Endurance at some point.
I am so on board with them now, I love it and I want one.
Finally! Been waiting for this week’s drop
Okay, it should be pointed out that the MOD watches are not going to be part of the standard kit issue for any service member.
Anyone know what the watch is at 3:11 ?
Recently had a customer showing me his Chronograph , he was saying how the second hand would not return to the zero position once started and stopped then reset , I Pointed out the the second hand wold not return and the outer ruing zero pointer would not stop at exactly 12 and the dial was not exact either , this watch had been put together very badly , with some user issues . It’s been away for repair over 8weeks now according to the owner and still no sign of its return or not been told how long , watch is still under warranty , maybe time for a replacement not repair ,
It was only 5 years ago that they were in a unit in Wokingham.
I did the electrics for their first machines.
That footage and editing in the beginning was wild. Good stuff !
It's too late dear boy, the horse has already bolted, and for the right reasons. How is the Batman by the way???
Boy ... what have you been smoking Adrian ... how often have you "really connected" :-) watch your own vid and have a good lough. And yes ... love your channel ... " this is genuine" :-)
Haha. I do need to read more of my English Phrase Book. 🤣
Personally I'd go with a Sinn first as an instrument watch w mil connection, they build in interesting technology.
I get that. Should be 1 step up from Hamilton maybe ?? Definitely not Omega quality level in terms of what there pricing them at.
Absolutely. Very very few watch outside of Patek and Rolex hold their value.
I have just bought the Bremont s302 at the Bremont boutique in Bluewater and I love it A Great British watch at a good price 🇬🇧🙌🙌
omg, i forgot Oris.
They are MilSpec though, they had to meet the MOD requirements.
Bark and Jack Thanks for clarifying, I was not aware of that.
Couldn't wear one
.
