- You've already had a look at the hotly contested final heat of the "Hell-In" on the ladies side, now it's time to relive what the guys went through. Toeing the line on the men's final heat was Neal Maddox, DJ Wickham, Braden Lutz, Rob Orlando, Joey Warren, Chad Mackay, Brandon Phillips, Peter Egyed, Ben Smith, Patrick Burke, Austin Malleolo, Mikko Salo, Matt Chan, Chris Spealler, Rich Froning Jr., and Graham Holmberg.

this is so awesome to watch and compare to the 2013 games... production quality is crazy
At the time that this event was being held -- in 2010 -- "last year's winner" was Mikko Salo, not Graham Holmberg.
In the context of this particular event in 2010, "last year's winner" was Mikko Salo, not Rich Froning.
Balls to the wall:
"To push to the limit, go all out, full speed.
A very colorful phrase, one needs to be careful when using "balls to the wall". Although its real origin is very benign, mos people assume it is a reference to testicles.
In fact it is from fighter planes. The "balls" are knobs atop the plane's throttle control. Pushing the throttle all the way forward, to the wall of the cockpit, is to apply full throttle." -Urban Dictionary
it's incredible how Rich Froning in these games is far behind everyone else but in the next years he whoops everyone else.
Yea, the announcer can chill with the "balls to the wall" apology...no need. Gives the sport character!
@Girevik80 This was the 2010 Games, the year Graham won. He was a relative unknown at the time of this event, as he only placed 19th in the previous year's Games. Granted any announcer should know the competitors' names, but it's a bit tough when there's no numbered shirts to go by.
12:30 has to be my favorite part of the video. "Your language.. You know, there are families.." LOL this commentator is ridiculous
Your avi is awesome. I was fooled.
WOD: "Hell-IN":

@Girevik80 this was 2010 games
i will try this wod today !!!! hope i will not die :-)
@joseph4ta
so what, they levitated themselves up to the bar?
Wow. He doesn't even know where the term "balls to the wall" comes from. It has nothing to do with testicles.
Maybe I missed it, but what is the workout here?
Lol, thanks brotha.
there so hard to do :(
I can do like 5 of them.. still find doing normal kipping easier
Interesting to hear that "balls to the wall" was once considered too much.
i thought he was kidding when he called her out on that; that male announcer needs a slap!!
Americans are terrible at picking up sarcasm, he wasn't actually chastising her for saying 'balls to the wall', I'm quite sure he was kidding, hence the background laughter. Hell's teeth...
lol balls to the wall
More experienced commentators next time please. Or don't have any at all (that would work too). That works too. "Balls to the wall" isn't that bad and it wouldn't have been an issue if he didn't make a big deal out of it.
when was the balls to the wall comment made!?
Uh dude? Rich Froning won it last.
Language? Don't be snarky putz!
In many planes, control sticks are topped with a ball-shaped grip. The throttle being one for power you push it forward, to the front of the cockpit, or firewall. Another control is the joystick-pushing it forward sends a plane into a dive. So, literally pushing the balls to the (fire)wall would put a plane into a maximum-speed dive, and figuratively going balls to the wall is doing something all-out, with maximum effort, equivalent of the automotive "pedal to the metal." Commentator = Ignorant!
The commentators and interviewers are serious amateur hour! They're embarrassing.
Yeah... The commentators suck ass compared to 2013 games :P
