Thanks again for such a great tuturial. May I ask what kind of drawing software that you us to draw your simple schematic drawings? Thanks in advance...and Regards...the Grumpy Limey
Yes, I was working on the LM358 low output signal when it dawned on me that the LM393 would seemingly yield a high output signal to turn on the LED (less Resistance from the pot). Thank.....oh by the way is there a way to make a single contribution to your channel with out having to sign up for a subscription.
Open collector outputs like these are definitely odd at first lol. I see them a lot though while studying more advanced circuits where they make a lot of sense. Some people become patrons for a one time donation and then cancel right away at www.patreon.com/electronzap . But my favorite is when people in the US search through the Amazon links I provide at www.amazon.com/shop/electronzapdotcom and elsewhere, before buying stuff they would buy anyways. I get a small percentage of many purchased items at no extra cost to them. Plus all I get is a list of purchased items with no personal information at all. Thanks!
Got it, I ordered that blue screw driver set that I admire in your videos. Also, can you do a Thermistor circuit video. I have one but all it says is 103. I can't tell if it is a Neg or Pos Coefficient. One again thanks and your store makes it easy to replicate your demonstrations and build my circuit catalog.
i want to include1.5k and 12k for the voltage divider instead of the 10k. When I power the circuit (VCC is 5 volts), the output does not behave correctly and never changes state. It seems the lm393 only works when the voltage divider is 1/2VCC. Am I missing something ??
Side by side presentation is a winner !!!!!
Thanks for the detailed explanation
Thanks for watching!
Sir your video is so knowledgeable to me ,pls make video on opam resistance calculation
Thanks for video! If I wanted to add hysteresis like many non-inverting comparators have, shall I add resistor from output to + or to -?
For hysteresis you want positive feedback, so a resistor from the output to the + (non inverting) pin.

Thanks! I just draw them with the MS paint that came with my laptop.
Cheers, Mate...duh...should have known! Regards,,,Grumpy Limey
Thank you.

Very cool! I may only have one thermistor, but i'll try to do a video with it soon.
Nice
Thanks!
Would a voltage working range of .05 volts difference be ok ?
Don't know for sure, but I doubt it is that sensitive.

what is the Characteristics of LM393 ??
Master:
This circuit has hysteresis?
No hysteresis in this circuit.
@@Electronzap thanks!!!👈
Add a resistor from the output pin to the voltage reference to add hysteresis
very bad explanation, lot of stammering
Sorry to hear!
